      Same. I think "Wait...someone else felt like me and came out the other side??" It gives me hope.

      Same here! Currently having all the horrid anxiety and panic about going on holiday next week. I desperately want to go and spend time with my son making memories but every time I think about it my stomach lurches and I get stuck in a loop of over thinking. Iv not managed to eat in 24 hours.
      I’m determined to push through 😣

    Am I the only one who gets a little panicky listening to people talk about panic disorder, even if it's helpful and positive?

      Remember that your brain is trying to forget to be anxious. Anything that reminds you of anxiety can potentially activate the fear response. You're completely normal :)

      @@instadam864 I'm listening to Drew's book right now. I have to take it in chunks because...ya know...makes me anxious. It's gold, though.

    I do not get severe panic attacks or my works are directly not hampered by my anxiety, I think I do have GAD. Your videos help me so much..
    I know may be this is irrelevant. But it will be great if you can create some writing/videos on how to build/improve our self worth in our mind, how not to care what other people think about ourselves and also how to avoid being jealous of other people doing/achieving the things that we want.
    I asked these because these things are a huge source of my anxiety. So if I'll be able to tackle this I hope I'll be a lot better. Of course I try to do this by watching other videos, but your ones help me very very much.

    Are these Recovery Monday episodes available on your podcast? I can’t find them. Love to listen in the car.

      Just as videos at the moment. Maybe at some point I can get the audio ripped into podcast episodes. I'll see what I can do. :-)

    So your saying practising mindfulness isn’t helpful for anxiety :s

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  9 місяців тому

      I'm saying that mindfulness is a navigation tool, not an eradication tool. Mindfulness is not an anxiety cure. It's not good "for anxiety". It's not a shield. But learning to live mindfully and to use attention as a verb rather than a noun is a big part of building a new relationship with anxiety and fear that turn them from horrible monsters into regular human experiences that do not require total retreat or avoidance any more. I'm a big fan of mindfulness training! I just don't like to see it held up as a cure that will banish all anxiety forever. Its not that.

      Thanks for replying.
      I was wondering if you have any episodes on ocd, I have currently discovered the surviving antidepressants forum and medicating normal film.
      I want to find resources on how to work through ocd without medication, as unfortunately I mostly heard if you have ocd you need medication and I really don’t want to be on medication long term

    Any advice on anxiety nausea?

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  2 роки тому +1

      You will find that I rarely if ever give "advice" on a specific symptom because they are all the same. You think nausea is the worst. Many agree. Many also think that racing heart is the "worst". Or that feeling off balance is the "worst". Or that feeling depersonalized is the "worst". So there is no special approach for a given symptom. The advice is always the same.
