JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr Groups, BC - BT65 .22 without and with regulator valve comparison

- In this video: groups with JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grains 5,52mm pellets and Hatsan BT65 SB Elite .22. Groups were made first with BT65 original, and later after installing a regulator valve. Muzzle velocities from all shots were measured and showed along muzzle energy. Groups were analyzed with OnTarget Precision Calculator software. Results in Metric and Imperial systems.
Ballistic Coefficient was calculated with Hawke ChairGun software, using the feature to calculate BC from velocity difference. To obtain the initial and final velocities two crhonographs were setup, one at muzzle and other at target 28,97m distant. 30 shots were measured this way, with regulator valve keeping Hatsan BT65's muzzle velocity at 277m/s.

What an excellent review of the absolute basic thing in airgun shooting, the humble pellet and the effect of too much power in a decent budget pcp rifle. Transformed with a regulator.
Well done on a very well put together, very proffessional, video thank you.
Thank you Gary!! You are right, before the regulator only heavy (and expensive) pellets gave good results. You are welcome!
Como sempre excelente!
Valeu JP!! Abraços!!
Parabéns amigo!!!!!...gosteeeeei!!!!
Obrigado!!
I ve been using ( strelok +) wrong BC then. It's 0.033 at 270mps. Great job man! Thanks
Thank you.
Cool H.U.D. on your shooting/chrony info.. Never seen that before.. It would be awesome if that was displayed in your scope..
That would be really awesome, plus range finder and wind indicator: high tech scope with all info displayed. Thank you for watching!!
muito legal, esse experimento. eu instalei um regulador na minha galatian, ficou show .um abraço
Obrigado!! É uma arma lindona a Galatian, o cilindro dela é o mesmo que o da BT65, ou tem alguma diferença?
Abraço!!
show.. belo video.. bem técnico.
Luiz
Hey guys
I determine with a FX Impact a BC of 0.0415 for the JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr ...
M V of 272 m / s
usually you read the BC for the JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr between BC 0.033 - 0.035 that is in my opinion much too low.
With the BC of 0.0415, in the Strelok PRO, the FX Impact work together perfectly..
I think a .22 pellet traveling at more than 1000 fps is not as stable than that is traveling of less than 1000 fps. With a very prominent air rifle like Hatsan and with the right pellet weight/velocity combination, the groupings could be much better specially on the non-regulated. With the installation of the regulator, velocity has been reduced hence better accuracy. Just my five centavo thought.
I agree, without regulator, heavier pellets like JSB Ultra Shock Heavy usually grouped well at the sweet spot. One advantage on the regulator side is having a greater number of good shots. Thank you for your comment Stephen!!
My pleasure, sir. And thanks for your posts.
Excellent video and measurements :) Have you measured the BC of the Exact Jumbo Monster .22 1.645 g? It can be found nowhere on the internet...
Thanks! No, but I have measured the BC of JSB Ultra Shock Heavy .22, wich has same weight and may have a similar BC:

Thanks so much for the useful information :) I've been looking for the BC of the Ultra Shocks .22, as well. Made some calculations based on velocities measured by another airgunner and the result was the same: ~0.022. Your video reconfirms the calculations and makes me sure of them :) I'm subscribing to your channel :)
I bought the JSB Exact Jumbo Monster and its BC will be measured this month.
Thanks big time, mate :)

Obrigado! Logo faço mais alguns, abraço!!
Que marca e esse regulador?
Zeca.
if you use lotar walter barrel. u will do better groups
Thanks Joanna! I would love to try it, unfortunately they are not available here and very difficult to import due to Brazilian gun regulation laws :-(
You could also have shot heavier pellets and maybe gotten better groups.
Yes, before installing the regulator the pellets she liked more were H&N Baracuda and JSB Exact Jumbo Monster.
Ai sim!!
Obrigado!!
