    Great vid buddy well done, does it matter how far away you have to be from the chrony to get the correct BC, would 20yrds be sufficient for the far data????Cheers

    Chronographs work better on a nice cloudy day than in bright sunlight. I think it has to do with the sun glinting off of the sensors but not really sure.

    Do I have to read the Numbers at 50M ? What if I wanted to shoot over 100 m do I have to get BC at a 100 or so?

    • @AirGunnerSA
      @AirGunnerSA  7 років тому

      +frank mejia only do it at 100m most apps will recommend you to do it as far as possible

  • @techwar77

    Wouldn't it be more accurate if you use two chronographs to measure a single pellet's muzzle and distance velocity? From how I see it, one pellet may have 850 ft/s muzzle velocity with 750 f/s at distance of 50 meters, while other may have 835 ft/s muzzle velocity with 730 ft/s at 50 meters. If you use the first pellet's muzzle velocity and the second pellet distance velocity, you get a bit inaccurate result. How accurate is the average measurement in fact? That is my question

    so you cant just use a bc from the web, you need to make your own, now i need another crony.

    • @AirGunnerSA
      @AirGunnerSA  4 роки тому +1

      Nope you can use bc from the web. But sometimes loads of things can play a role in your bc and you will find that your point of impact isn't where your ballistic app shows. So then you can find out what is your true bc this way

    • @PeakyBlinder
      @PeakyBlinder 4 роки тому

      @@AirGunnerSA thank you for the advice,
      There is another way to find the BC from your gun and specific pellet and that is using hawke scopes armchair pro,
      And that is to input the measurement from the drop in the pellet from your zero point say 30 metres and your poi at 50m,
      You enter them two figures and it calculates your BC from that measurement.
      I'll give that a go before I purchase a second chronograph.

    • @AirGunnerSA
      @AirGunnerSA  4 роки тому

      @@PeakyBlinder pleasure man. You can do that too but its not very accurate

      @@AirGunnerSA
      How about I know it's long winded but if my suggestion got me close to my 50 yard poi I could see where the pellet lands and adjust my BC input data untill the correct holdover is found,
      I know another long range chronograph would make life easier so I might just go halves with my shooting pal and set all our pellets we use and get the shooting cards drawn up.
      Thanks for the advice and tips.
      Keep up the good work with the vids,
      Liked and subbed.👍
      Oh by the way we are in the nanny state of the UK and under strict nanny laws of 12fp pop gun pressure.
      So the BC is quite severe and 50 yards is about the max killing range I would hunt vermin.
      I might try paper targets up to 100 yards but probably wouldn't pierce the paper lol.
      You are so lucky to have what power you want.
      I shoot the 510 TDR regulated .22, hw100 tk .23
      Bsa goldstar .177.
