GOD, THE MEMORIES OF A HAPPY,ER TIME COME,S FLOODING BACK JUST LISTENING TO THEM NOW, CHEERS LINDISFARNE FOR ALL THE GREAT TIME,S BACK IN THE DAY. PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. 🙏✌️😎🏴
Pure dead brilliant, Billy chanelling the one and only Jimmy Alan Hull as only he could do. Missed but never forgotten, those Xmas concerts will be with me forever.
@@tomdevlin9274 tom so agree as long as the songs are sung alan hull will be alive ! I lived near marty and his music is great too ? lindisfarne are great and i,m scots and used to drink with pete agnew who formed nazareth so love music from that era ? I,d love shields to have a 70 festival during a summer ( when we get one ) with lindisfarne /nazareth etc
Great gordie band. I worked up there in the late eighties. Fucking loved Newcastle, and I worked all over Britain, best people, reminded me of being home in Ireland 🇮🇪.
2 x 12 string guitars - what a brilliant jangle! i loved this song as a kid, I live in the South of England but it always reminds me of happy times in Northumbria.
My favourite song from Lindisfarne. It sounds as good as back in the 70's I think. The sound quality is better of course. And the harmonies are awesome! Thanks for uploading
Just a wonderful group and lots of memories for me. I have played this song in my last band years ago and in my current one and the audiences love it!! One of my first 8-track cassettes was "Fog on the Tyne" .....played in my Ford Cortina Mk2!!!!
Takes you back to an innocence that never truly existed, but was good on paper. Gentle poetry sung with a smile on their face. You must have a heart of flint not to smile listening to a song like this. Good luck Ms O'Reilly x
End of September and only know just found this, what the hell have I been doing, take,s me back to the great day,s we had back then, good memories some a little hazy but still put,s a smile on my face. PEACE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. 🕊️🙏✌️😎🏴
Billy did a great job of heading up Lindisfarne after Alan Hull died. A great talent in his own right. This was a very good Lindisfarne line up and soon decided to call it a day after this. Music to be loved for all time.
Lovely. The singing blend is super. The only thing I missed a little was the bass, whose heavy plodding beat was such an atmospheric element in the original. It's there, but doesn't stick out in the mix as it might.
Totally agree. I noticed it pretty soon, too... along with the wonderful overall quality here and with such a superb song. I bought their first album way back when, and even though I was (still am) a guitarist, I alway played "air bass" to this one.
In Edinburgh the “corner” was the Binns clock at the west end. A favourite meetings place for first dates. On the hour and half hour were the main times. By quarter past and quarter to those stood up would then hook up anyway. Probably all urban myth. Those were the days.
these are cool tho like: did i miss them somehow during the 70s 80s? God speed anyway ps this is REALLY hard music... The timing, the instrumentalsim and even the lyrics are toungue twisting at times.. this band, despite looking like MASSIVE MASSIVE hippies back in the 70's... is a highly taught set up exeleent music Gs

These are the songs I miss hearing on the radio.
Pure dead brilliant, Billy chanelling the one and only Jimmy Alan Hull as only he could do. Missed but never forgotten, those Xmas concerts will be with me forever.
Actually Alan Hull only sang harmonies on this, and he didn't write it.
@@lonegroover OK mia culpa but you know what I mean, best band ever those Xmas parties were an absolute amazing party.
Oh the memories.. singing along to this in Ireland this morning 2023..🎵👍
Alan Hull. Fantastic songwriter and musician. RIP Alan.
Pretty sure this was written by Rod Clements
@@Turkishtone Correct! 100% written by Rod!
There should always be someone somewhere playing the great songs of Lindisfarne & Alan Hull...
There always will.

Excellent group with the amazing voice of Billy Mitchell, which was a fantastic version of the song.
He has an excellent voice....Did he join the group after Alan Hull's passing?.....
My favourite song from Lindisfarne. It sounds as good as back in the 70's I think. The sound quality is better of course. And the harmonies are awesome! Thanks for uploading
One thing I can put my finger on, the song is way too short! 😉
Bliddy Bliddy Brilliant x Maybe I have only listened to this 100 times or me? AND sung at the top of my voice every time!!!!
We meet on the corner in 1972 and we meet again when i leave this world ❤❤
Still sound great after all those years.

Living in Thailand now and listening to this brings back some great memories from being brought up in the North East
Me too. I am in Japan now.
Just a wonderful group and lots of memories for me. I have played this song in my last band years ago and in my current one and the audiences love it!!

⭐
to george muir rip
The name rings a bell thats why i checked them not a bad song by any means
Me dad played a mean harmonica Billy Mitchell x
So did my dad, miss him so much
Singly dell lindisfarne
The best kept secret in the world id the NE of England we dont have great wealth but we have every thing else
I think this is a Rod Clements song... when most of their songs were Alan's ... Good harmonica since that was Ray Jackson's job
You do know this about selling drugs. Still a great song.
I know he’s not the original but I prefer Billy’s voice over Alan’s especially when they do Lady Eleanor.
