PikaLink91 It got cancelled. But there are near-final ROMs available pretty much everywhere. Back then everybody in my class had it for the PSX and it was the most fun 4 player fighting game ever. If you think Mario Kart ruins friendships, play this game.
Ghost of Tsushima is an absolutely amazing game that has one of the most violent juxtapositions I’ve ever seen. The entire game is BEAUTIFUL. The combat is GRUESOME. You’re cutting your enemies to ribbons, poisoning them and making them puke up their own blood, your character will literally get SHOWERED in enemy viscera. And yet, once the fight is over, you clean your sword, stow it, pull out your flute, and go back to making calming music. I love it.
"Banned in Australia" the three words I was waiting for him to say the whole video. Everything gets banned here. Next thing you know we wont be allowed to have vegemite or kangaroos here. XD
And as usual, Xbox Ahoy never ceases to bring out amazingly interesting videos that delve into the seemingly boring thing we call history, and re-tells it into the most captivating and fascinating way possible. What a great way to spend my sunday morning! ^^
It's interesting how even though Spec ops:The line had probably the least gore in the game out of any named in this video it is by far the most disturbing, even though its more tame than most games gore-wise it had this feeling to it which really drove the point home.
maybe because blood and guts aren't everything to a video game? because tone and feeling are more important and do much more for the feeling of impact and violence than blood and guts and limbs flying off everywhere? honestly i can play the old classics and get a better feel of me destroying opponents mercilessly than most of todays bloodbaths. even god of war is just meh after awhile. the enemies crowd around you and theres finishing moves and such but its all… just… not important. if theres gore in a video game it should be the extras because thats all they are in games, visual effects, cut scenes, quick time events. i don't mind gore but when games try to out gore each other it gets unsettling but not disturbing.
We didn't have an 18+ rating until quite recently. Since it has been added, bans on games such as MK9 have been lifted, however ID must be presented upon purchase.
Damn it, I fell asleep again while watching your video again. The wonderful quality combined with your calm voice really makes for a great video... and a lullaby
Ahoy - thank you for making these videos. They are very entertaining. I just want to say how great Spec Ops The Line is. Like most people I didn't even give that game a second glance as from the surface just looked like some generic Gears of War game with a modern military shooter aesthetic. I kept hearing this game pop up in discussions and finally pulled the trigger last year when I seen it on a Steam sale, and defied all expectations.
Indeed, it was a great part of the game! And it fit it. But I don't know if I'd like it to return; I can't see how gore would fit into something like Call of Duty Ghosts.
Conker's Bad Fur Day was quite impressive for its time when the N64 was at the end of its life. If Conker fell from too great of a height, he exploded into a gib gore fest where you can get to see his still beating heart before using one of his squirrel tails. There is a game over sequence where his entrails are in a bag discovered by the Panther King's minions. Also don't forget the bazooka and chainsaw kills in multiplayer.
Erm...Mortal Kombat X isnt banned in germany. o.o I purchased mine legally, its on Amazon, I saw two copies of the GOTY version at my local gamestop...sure everyone SAYS its banned, but I think thats just heresay. Hell, if it was banned, i wouldnt be able to buy the DLC on my german PS Store account.
Nah, Fallout 2, Bozar and the Vindicator. The sound when killing the Enclave soldiers... That powered casing led me to believe that they get DESTROYED in it c;
TotalMetalJacket EA said it failed to meet their sales expectations. People Can Fly were ready to start work on a sequel when EA shut them down. With People Can Fly stating that EA's "sales expectations" were unreachable for a brand new IP. Most likely, EA was expecting sales along the lines of Epic's Gears of War.
Because you know it’s not real. Your brain understands that the pixels on screen aren’t actual people getting hurt. But you’re a compassionate person, and seeing actual blood outside of a person strikes the fear of death and pain that all of humanity shares. Seeing real blood triggers the subconscious thought “someone is hurt! Someone is dying! Their blood is outside their body, where it isn’t supposed to be!”
Gore has gotten so much more realistic since this video. With games like RDR2 killing someone feels too real that a lot of time I actually hesitate to kill someone innocent.
Am I the only one that thinks fps games should bring back a certain amount of dismemberment? As much as I love rag doll effects I kinda miss how in certain games like cod world at war allowed you to dismember people with explosives or a shotgun
I was waiting for you to mention L4D2 in here, and near combustion when it finally came up, haha. No More Heroes is my favourite example of silly, but awesomely over the top gore, and L4D2 is my favourite of the slightly more (but not entirely) serious bloodfest options
I dunno why, but i am immune to gibs, blood, gore and stuff like that, maybe because when i was younger, i daily watched my dad play the first two Doom games?
Stu, I'm probably wrong, but isn't gibs pronounced with a soft G, like in games? Anyway, nice video! And you included Silent Hill, to my greatest delight :D
the Wikipedia article says it comes from "giblets", pronounced /ˈdʒɪblɨts/. so it would be like the g in "giraffe." also, you are thinking of hard g, soft g is pronounced like the g in "giraffe", like "dʒ"
Thank you! I've been trying to remember the name of Chiller for a while and my Google skills were lacking. My parents (understandably) forbid me from playing so, of course, I had to sneak onto it every chance I got. It was one of the first arcade games I remember where you shot a gun instead of used a joystick and/or buttons. I also don't know why I haven't seen this sooner because I know I've been subbed to you for a while.
I know it can't really be classified as "gore", but the scariest video game weapon I've ever used was the Particle Cannon from Wolfenstein '09. Just... poof. Nobody complained since you're killing Nazis but I remember just feeling shocked. That's also why I'm psyched for The New Order as well, can't wait to see what they did with that.
With "poof" you mean the same effect of the gluon gun from Half-Life (it interacts with the object's inner stability by firing gluons [really existent particles that interact with one of the four forces of the universe, strong interaction, the one that holds the nulceus of every atom togheter], killing the target by dissolving all the connections between its very ATOMS. This means vaporizing the target, and the guy that gives the gun to you, a fellow scientist, can't even bring him with using the weapon, so he gives Gordon the gun because he has no problem using it) ?
Dying light is probably my favourite, you can sever limbs and heads in a slo mo when you get a good shot, and there’s even a mission where a dogs entrails are out on a table still attached to it’s body, still a really fun game tho
Fantastic content Stu. I've only just discovered your channel and I'm really enjpying it. Middle aged gamer here who's roots go back to 2600 days and earlier. I've been waiting for adult oriented gaming content all that time. Great stuff!
My personal favorite use of gore and violence, is in Drakengard. While not the best game in the world, it's the game's story and characters that make it something really unique. While in other games, a character is praised as a hero, or doesn't even register his slaughter of countless enemies. In this, the main character takes actual pleasure in the slaughter of hundreds, and is a borderline psychopath. Each character is severely damaged in some way, in this game, and to my knowledge, this is the first game to admit that a person who kills hundreds of people without batting an eye, is no hero. A deeply disturbing, and gruesome game (especially toward the end), Drakengard is my favorite when it comes to violence and gore. Actually effecting the characters and the story.
A brilliantly researched documentary, although you missed a beat when you failed to mention that "Thirll Kill" was broken donw into its assets and became "Wu Tang - Shaolin Style", which is the greatest 3d fighting game ever made.
Manhunt was/is a phenomenal game. It’s so original & just a great, quality experience. Tension, horror, action, puzzles, this game has it all!! & unlike Outlast, Manhunt doesn’t have the player desensitized after some playtime... it’s as tense in the end as it is in the first 15 minutes. & the story?! Gods, the story was actually better than most movies, shows, & books; not to mention other games.
Dont forget gorn ^^ Love tearig heads limbs off an enemie in vr, cant even shoot one of our chicken to ease their pain when they are hurt too badly ( happens from time to time amd it would be really better to take them out of their misery, but i can't). Don't ask me if i would be so parcifistical in games, i'd love to shred some chicken for a cloud of feathers and a funny soundeffect.
Mighty late to the party, but I just rewatched this for the gazillionth time (I'm a huge fan of yours Stuart, your stuff is unmatched in quality, and your topics are always a great pick as well!) and I thought I might share: The engine for Thrill Kill was used for Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style (Or Wu-Tang Clan: Taste the Pain as it says on my disc), and a lot of the finishers and whatnot are kept in that game. Good fun game, and a very interesting one at that. Not many 4-way 3D fighters that I know of, and especially none with such intricate combat as it has. It's actually a bit surprising how deep it is, and how high the skill-ceiling is. Worth a try, if you ever have time for videogames outside research!
How is violence in a game going to force someone to be violent? If you can't handle playing a video game, don't play it. Just like cigarettes or booze. Can't handle it? Don't do it.
You know there were actual studies that supported the notion that games could induce violence. Of course, those were all bollocks but in the 90s and very early 2000's people bought it. That aside I don't think people care about films as much, because films are utterly passive. You park your ass somewhere and you watch violence happen. But films don't put the choice of who, or if someone dies in your hands. So the public got up in arms about it.
One of the best FPSs of the mid 90s, that's for sure. Although it's not without it's issues. Probably the most polarized of the Build Engine games. Some parts are incredibly good (the level design is among the best), some parts are incredibly bad (the difficulty curve is effectively backwards).
Glad to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre mentioned, but really disappointed you didn't mention the 1983 Commodore 64 game Forbidden Forest. No other game before then was that gory, and it held the title for years. It's omission is unforgivable.
I hate the "You just killed someone" bits in games. I play games for escapism. Of fucking course I wouldn't walk out into the street and start shooting people up, but I would in a game because I can without any real life consequences.
finally someone who gets what games are supposed to be about thank u iam the same way man i love gore games for the fact i can do that shit without issue and just cuz i love those games doesnt mean i have any interest in doing so in real life
And that is what those games are showing you. They take off that curtain of safety, i have before played spec ops and loading screens said "To kill for yourself is murder, to kill for your country is duty but this isn't real why should you care?" and "You are still a good person" . It shows you at that particular moment what you enjoy seeing, death of other people the same game gives the "enemies" have moments that they get personality which for example was this, you are on a roof top in this desert land with no escape and have to move on, there are two guys infornt of you speaking; "Do you have any gum" "Yeah, its my last one." "No man i don't want it if its your last one!" "Just take it ***** would steal it anyway.." "Well fuck that guy.." *laughs* "Man i just sometimes forget how beatiful the scenery here is.." You shoot them. Its not a cutscene or anyhting, you could have shot those guys when you first heard the word "Do" . It makes you feel what you just did. There has to be games that shows you the disgusting side of killing someone, the guilt of it.
glitchsmasher There are games that cater to that but if you're playing any kind of story mode or something that has story and plot then you are a character and are shown what that character would see.
***** Care to expand on what you mean by "...the point of those kinds of games"? I'm not challenging you or anything; I genuinely want to know what you have to say. In my own experience, those kinds of games have always been kind of... "Pointless"? (for lack of a better term). What's the message - "Killing is bad"? Well no shit. If the idea is that character death holds a lot of weight (such as in Telltale's games) then that's all well and good and I see no problems. It adds that extra layer of drama and complexity to a story. Games like Spec Ops: The Line, however, just come off as passive-aggressive nonsense to me: "You just killed a bunch of people, but that's okay. They weren't real, so why should you care?"
***** (Apologies for these big comments, by the way - I have a lot to say on topics like this). Indeed. Again, if it's for story purposes then I have no real issues. Spec Ops: The Line _ultimately_ accomplished what it set out to do: The main character underwent a *tremendous* psychological guilt-trip for his actions, and the imagery helped to solidify this. It wasn't exactly subtle about it, though. (Compared to something like *Shadow of the Colossus*, which also managed to create an emotionally draining experience, but without resorting to forced drama or theatrics). If you don't mind the tangent,Spec Ops: The Line felt like it was addressing a problem that never existed. The entire game was essentially a critique that modern shooters are removed from reality, and provide players with unrealistic, morally dichotomous escapist fantasy. This is why I asked what you meant when you said, "...you don't understand the point..." From my perspective, the point of Spec Ops wasn't necessarily to tell a compelling story about the atrocities of war - it was to force non-guilty people (i.e. average gamers) to feel guilty for engaging in fantasy violence.
There was also a pretty bloody Warhammer game, Space Hulk, Revenge of the Blood Angels. It's quite old and it had so much gore that entire hallways were smeared with entrails and blood from ceiling to floor.

Well whaddaya know
Props for mentioning Hotline miami and Killing floor!!! Two of my favorite games.
Sharky McShark I was glad Hotline Miami was mentioned. Very, very good game, and I haven't even played it.
Creature Plays Games Play it man! 1&2 are both fantastic!!
Sharky McShark Yep, just haven't gotten around to playing it recently. Coincidentally, I'm actually listening to Miami by Jasper Byrne right now.
Two very good games indeed.
Creature Plays Games If you have a P.C or Ps3/4 you can get both cheap. I suggest getting it for P.C simply because you get a level editor in 2
So happy to see Thrill Kill on the list :)
Was that game really never released?
PikaLink91 It got cancelled. But there are near-final ROMs available pretty much everywhere. Back then everybody in my class had it for the PSX and it was the most fun 4 player fighting game ever. If you think Mario Kart ruins friendships, play this game.
Cleft in twain!
XD
Ye even imagine not having hentai what if they ban that
yeah i am living in australia and when he said that mortal kombat was banned in australia i was like wait WTF no i played it at my friends house
Are shrimps on the barbie still allowed?
The Punisher would have been a good one to mention as it received the same cut treatment Manhunt did.
a version of punisher had the censor removed right?
Jacob Glaze No, the UK is b/w for death scenes. There is a fan patch to download that brings it back into full colour.
I know. I still play it.
I love the editing, research and awesome commentary you show us in these videos. You sir are a great entertainer in your own way. :)
Those Half Life 2 graphics are still amazing to this day IMO. And this game came out in 2004.
Indeed, played it twice through and I was just as impressed the second time as I was the first ;).
I was blown away by the Metal Gear Solid 2 on PS2! I still love that game! 😀
It is
And now we have Killing Floor 2.
(ಠ ͜ʖಠ)
and Mortal Kombat X
Not as good as the original.
Ya' bloody toss.
And DOOM
Better than the original, by the way.
UNACCEPTABLE!
Dylan Briggs 100 years dungeon!
maybe because blood and guts aren't everything to a video game? because tone and feeling are more important and do much more for the feeling of impact and violence than blood and guts and limbs flying off everywhere?
honestly i can play the old classics and get a better feel of me destroying opponents mercilessly than most of todays bloodbaths. even god of war is just meh after awhile. the enemies crowd around you and theres finishing moves and such but its all… just… not important. if theres gore in a video game it should be the extras because thats all they are in games, visual effects, cut scenes, quick time events.
i don't mind gore but when games try to out gore each other it gets unsettling but not disturbing.
So glad I happened across this channel. Gotta be the most professionally made - also one of the most interesting - series I've seen on YT.
I feel like this guy would make an unbelievable fortune making audiobooks for erotic fiction
A little mistake in the video
The unreal tournament you posted is UT2004, not UT99
Thank you!
I think I was the only one who noticed
What games aren't banned in Australia, bet even the Telletubbies was banned...
EHMERGHERD THOSE PROMOTE HOMOSEXUALITY! BAN!
We didn't have an 18+ rating until quite recently. Since it has been added, bans on games such as MK9 have been lifted, however ID must be presented upon purchase.
Most the games I've played aren't released in Australia... Is it just 18s?
***** I think he means that some 18+/M games are being allow not every single game that was slap with 18+ or M rating game on the face of the earth
: ) That makes more sense. : )

Can you sign my petition to force critics of video game violence to watch this documentary?
Damn it, I fell asleep again while watching your video again. The wonderful quality combined with your calm voice really makes for a great video... and a lullaby
No mention of Vicera Cleanup Detail? Not even for the lulz of it?
...dude, this video is 2+ years old. Viscera Cleanup Detail is from 2015.
Schwalbe oh right, sorry bout that : P
@@arthure.w2006 And now your comment is 3 years old
Ahoy - thank you for making these videos.
I got it for free on Steam. Is it good? Fun? I already got spoiled...
There was always the kid at school who's brother had a copy of thrillkill
I miss the gore from world at war
Indeed, it was a great part of the game!
And it fit it. But I don't know if I'd like it to return; I can't see how gore would fit into something like Call of Duty Ghosts.
***** What about tripping a Bouncing Betty which blow away your bottom part of the body completely, leaving only a torso?
***** one time i believe my head was shot off and i feel like the gore in multiplayer was kinda nerfed early in it's life.
wolfenstein the old blood gets very similar in its second phase
Conker's Bad Fur Day was quite impressive for its time when the N64 was at the end of its life. If Conker fell from too great of a height, he exploded into a gib gore fest where you can get to see his still beating heart before using one of his squirrel tails. There is a game over sequence where his entrails are in a bag discovered by the Panther King's minions. Also don't forget the bazooka and chainsaw kills in multiplayer.
The stroggification part on QUAKE 4 is one of the most disturbing as well. Im in love with your videos. Great work!
1:53 Chiller
Wow that escalated quickly.
am I the only one expecting a video on Al Gore?
yes?
ok
what???
Absolutely. I thought this was going to be a heart warming video about the invention of the Internet that ends with killing polar bears.
lmao
very hilarious dog meme I though it was going to be about Deftones latest album.
very hilarious dog meme I thought it was about rhyno
I'm surprised Max Payne 3 and No More Heroes weren't mentioned here.
I didn't find Max Payne 3 to be gory.
1:53 to 1:56
That went from "oh that's pretty brutal" to "JESUS CHRIS WHAT DID I JUST WITNESSED"
This video is 10 years old and still holds TF up
As soon as he showed Texas Chainsaw Massacre I started thinking of AngryNintendoNerds video about the game. lol
Stu, what is the font used in these videos? They look similar to 'Lato' but I'm not sure.
Qi Steven Geogrotesque.
Ahoy How fitting.
ok that pretty clever
What? Stuart (Stu) is Ahoy's name.
Stuart Brown. Name given on every CoD weapon guide.
Painkiller has some great gore.
@ISPY4ever Stake Gun is one of the best weapons ever made in an FPS.
At the end I thought "they missed so much recent stuff !", then I realized it's a decade old video. Insane quality for the era.
Amazing video, dude. One of my favorite gore-fests of this day is Hatred. Don't know, but I just love it. Oh, and Brutal Doom.
Bulletstorm. The kills were so satisfying in that game.
Ugh that eye scene in Dead Space 2 makes me cringe more when I do it correctly than when I fuck up @_@
Blood the PC game from 1997
Erm...Mortal Kombat X isnt banned in germany. o.o
I purchased mine legally, its on Amazon, I saw two copies of the GOTY version at my local gamestop...sure everyone SAYS its banned, but I think thats just heresay.
Hell, if it was banned, i wouldnt be able to buy the DLC on my german PS Store account.
+Leeen
Nope.
he ment the 2011 mortal kombat
You can buy literally every part of the series in germany. So no.
its also not banned in australia
i played it yesterday
Keep in mind this video is 2 years old, likely shortly before both Countries (Germany AND Australia) Loosened up Video Game Restrictions
"Bloody video games."
Hey, you watch your mouth, Ahoy!
But Stu! You forgot this one game with this small amount of blood in it!
Fallout: Tactics, Ripper and combat shotgun kills. So satisfying...
Nah, Fallout 2, Bozar and the Vindicator. The sound when killing the Enclave soldiers... That powered casing led me to believe that they get DESTROYED in it c;
Bulletstorm? Wouldve thought that'd be a good example.
Yeah, the skillshot system would've been perfect for this video. Was surprised it wasn't even mentioned. God I wish they'd make a sequel.
xiphumbra They said it won't happen, the game failed.
This might seem strange but when I see gore in a game I don’t bat an eye. But if it’s real life I get grossed tf out
Because you know it’s not real.
I remember in grade school when the computer lab was getting the new Power Macs a classmate asked if it would have Doom installed lol
I mean, DOOM has been ported to everything at this point...
Turok 2 as an example oh my god yes thank you Ahoy
Gore has gotten so much more realistic since this video. With games like RDR2 killing someone feels too real that a lot of time I actually hesitate to kill someone innocent.
Ye
Because you have basic human empathy, even towards worthless pixels.
Am I the only one that thinks fps games should bring back a certain amount of dismemberment? As much as I love rag doll effects I kinda miss how in certain games like cod world at war allowed you to dismember people with explosives or a shotgun
I wish they could still do that in cod games now. I hate the same stupid death animations
Great video! The game Rescue: The Embassy Mission for NES was the first game I played that had blood in it..
I was waiting for you to mention L4D2 in here, and near combustion when it finally came up, haha. No More Heroes is my favourite example of silly, but awesomely over the top gore, and L4D2 is my favourite of the slightly more (but not entirely) serious bloodfest options
My favorite gory game is ROBLOX
Mine, too
That's is a very scary game!
Idiots doing idiot things, because they’re idiots...
I know a gory game in roblox...

Im eatin cereal while watching OvO
Hope you didn't lose your appetite
+Turtle_TwisT™ Even watching videos about video games turns people into cereal killer.
Gib like giblets!
the Wikipedia article says it comes from "giblets", pronounced /ˈdʒɪblɨts/. so it would be like the g in "giraffe." also, you are thinking of hard g, soft g is pronounced like the g in "giraffe", like "dʒ"
Okay, so I was wrong. Sorry about that guys, thanks for the correction! I guess I've been hearing it wrong my whole life :P
it's cool dude, I always thought it was pronounced with a hard g as well
If it's any consolation, I looked it up before recording the script.
F.E.A.R. has some of my favorite gore in video games. Especially the shotgun, which causes gibbing when you get headshots with it.
This means vaporizing the target, and the guy that gives the gun to you, a fellow scientist, can't even bring him with using the weapon, so he gives Gordon the gun because he has no problem using it) ?
tyrrarius In the words of the classic games...
GET PHYSCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dying light is probably my favourite, you can sever limbs and heads in a slo mo when you get a good shot, and there’s even a mission where a dogs entrails are out on a table still attached to it’s body, still a really fun game tho
Yeah I put dozens of hours into that. Can't wait for DL2
Exactly.
"Doom in 1993 would prove phenomenally popular..."
Shows footage of Doom II: Hell On Earth released in 1994.
Fantastic content Stu. I've only just discovered your channel and I'm really enjpying it. Middle aged gamer here who's roots go back to 2600 days and earlier. I've been waiting for adult oriented gaming content all that time. Great stuff!
Gotta love those good old classic gibs!
XboxAhoy Personal favorite gorey game? Bulletstorm, the game mixes Gears of War gore with Duke Nukem humor.
+Dark Mountain Productions Holy Shit! Someone else who played Drakengard!
Imagine if R* would make Manhunt 3 for PS4, XB1 and PC...
Damn, that would be sweet :-D
FriendlyGamer
The gore, damn!!!
Holy fuck yeah!!!, only a man can dream :(
A brilliantly researched documentary, although you missed a beat when you failed to mention that "Thirll Kill" was broken donw into its assets and became "Wu Tang - Shaolin Style", which is the greatest 3d fighting game ever made.
Quite surprised that that Duke Nukem 3d didn't show up.
Maybe he's saving it for A Brief History of Sexism. Oh, the games that are gonna be on that one!
Carlos Smith
Even So, DN3D is rather tame by today's standards.
DN3D is essentially a clone of Doom which is in its self a clone of wolfenstein
PlanarCollapse2 I didn't say they started the whole trend, but it would definitely be mentioned.
Dont forget gorn ^^
Love tearig heads limbs off an enemie in vr, cant even shoot one of our chicken to ease their pain when they are hurt too badly ( happens from time to time amd it would be really better to take them out of their misery, but i can't). Don't ask me if i would be so parcifistical in games, i'd love to shred some chicken for a cloud of feathers and a funny soundeffect.
4:18 now i know where black ops took the idea of dead ops arcade
I feel a r/wooosh but.....dead ops arcade was made in 2010
Mighty late to the party, but I just rewatched this for the gazillionth time (I'm a huge fan of yours Stuart, your stuff is unmatched in quality, and your topics are always a great pick as well!) and I thought I might share:
The engine for Thrill Kill was used for Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style (Or Wu-Tang Clan: Taste the Pain as it says on my disc), and a lot of the finishers and whatnot are kept in that game. Good fun game, and a very interesting one at that. Not many 4-way 3D fighters that I know of, and especially none with such intricate combat as it has. It's actually a bit surprising how deep it is, and how high the skill-ceiling is.
Worth a try, if you ever have time for videogames outside research!
9:53
The descension that he's talking about happened long before that.
Why did you leave out BloodRayne 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 and the FEAR trilogy? They are pretty important for how gore went up to higher levels.
+Phantron Fear 1 was there.
+cheater87
where?
+Phantron When he was talking about scary games towards the end.
4:10 So now I know where Dead Ops Arcade came from.
Dead ops arcade was made in 2010.....dont r/woosh me
When lots of blood is considered, Painkiller comes to mind xD
psychos, murderers, doctors, combat medics, some other stuff... and painkillers (Serious Sam 3 BFE style..)
The Ragdoll physics are the best. Fallout and how you can just fling bodies around, anything around, really.
Well, Punisher The TPS video game is one of my all time bloody favorites. Just can't deny all those brutal executions and interrogations! :D
No mention of 'Die by the Sword'?

How is violence in a game going to force someone to be violent? If you can't handle playing a video game, don't play it. Just like cigarettes or booze. Can't handle it? Don't do it.
who cares about violence? that would be absurd! though games do make you sexist... and also violent.
what are you talking about? anita said they did, as did the german mainstream press, so it must be true.
Devil's Advocate how do games make you sexist and violent that's the most bullshit I've heard in a while
Blood, blood, blood... the video game "Blood" I mean.
One of the best FPSs of the mid 90s, that's for sure.
Although it's not without it's issues. Probably the most polarized of the Build Engine games. Some parts are incredibly good (the level design is among the best), some parts are incredibly bad (the difficulty curve is effectively backwards).
And Blood 2 The Chosen
Fuck Bood 2, nothing gory abbout that. (Gibbing humans with dual pistols, the fuck???)
Glad to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre mentioned, but really disappointed you didn't mention the 1983 Commodore 64 game Forbidden Forest. No other game before then was that gory, and it held the title for years. It's omission is unforgivable.
Aww, I was hoping to see the new Doom at the end, then realised this video was made in 2014 :( I demand an expansion on this video!
grezzo 2 is the best.
Its funny how we can create games with murder, blood and guts but god forbid we show the naked human body.
It shows you at that particular moment what you enjoy seeing, death of other people the same game gives the "enemies" have moments that they get personality which for example was this, you are on a roof top in this desert land with no escape and have to move on, there are two guys infornt of you speaking;
"Do you have any gum"
"Yeah, its my last one."
"No man i don't want it if its your last one!"
"Just take it ***** would steal it anyway.."
"Well fuck that guy.." *laughs* "Man i just sometimes forget how beatiful the scenery here is.."
You shoot them.
This guy makes the best game documentaries.
