Just picked up a 2018 S5 SB with 33k and have been watching all your videos for maintenance, awesome videos and they're definitely giving good insight on the jobs!
Thank you so much for making this video. I just hit 40,000 and this video made it a breeze for me to change my plugs.
All maintenance DIY’s on B9 S5 🔥 This channel is awesome👏🏼
water pump video would be a great one. have to do mine....was thinking the easiest is to take it from the top. Remove all the intake pipes. If anyone has done it before on a B9 v6 tfsi would be awesome.
Mine will be due soon, seems like a common issue with the b9 3.0t platform. I'll make mine once it's time
@@boostdynamictuning +1 for water pump!
Amazing, Thank you so much. I’ve been dreading the spark plug job on my SQ5 and this will help a lot.
Same here! It looks like a bigger job than it is. As you can see, it's just a small space to move stuff around, but not impossible.
Wow this is way easier than I thought it would be. Great video, thank you.
Not a problem! It definitely looks intimidating at first. Once you get in there with the right tools it's pretty simple.
Thank you very much for this. This will also be applicable to B9 SQ5 (which I plan to acquire and service myself :)
Glad the video could shed some light on the service! Good job on doing your maintenance as well!
Recently got my spark plugs replaced at a mechanic. Now when I do quick accelerations, the car vibrates quite roughly like the engine isn’t receiving smooth power. Sometimes happens on the highway without quick acceleration. Do you think the mechanic screwed something up? I need to take it back in for sure since it scares me. I’m not sure how I’d explain it to them.
Take it back to them, I don't guess. You need to provide data for me to make a methodical conclusion.
This is a great video, however I am having a REALLY hard time getting those first few sensor clips off. Are you able to elaborate on those?
Use a 90 degree pic. That's the best way. Watch the video on how I used the pic to pop them off
Thank you for saving me time and money
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching the video. Happy memorial day weekend!
question....just took my car into the dealership for its 40k service...my car was done within 1.5 hours maybe a little less...is it possible or did I get scammed?
Mine got done in an hour and 10mins. I’m wondering the same 😕
How long did it take you??? My shop is telling me it’s a 2.5 hour job
What the difference between this engine and the one in my 2019 a6?
What size mm was the socket to remove the spark plugs?
I was wondering the same dude
14mm😊
Great video, thanks! What is the fastening method for the wiring harness sitting on top of the middle cylinder? It is simply a push-pull type of connector? I didn't see you use a tool or release any clips. It looks like you simply gave a firm pull. Is this correct?
On left side of engine? Correct, just pull up
@@TenaciousTomato Yes, I learned that is a plastic ball-and-rubber socket fastener: simply pull up. When reassembling, smear a thin film of dielectric grease on the plastic ball to aid future disassembly.
@@wk5020 great idea 👍🫡
What tool did you use to pull the spark plugs out.
A spark plug tool? Watch the video, shows all the details.
Great video 💯
Glad I could help
Specialized VAG shop charges 175 in labour for what took you 15-20 mins, and 235 for plugs when i can get them for 155$. After seeing how easy it was in your video, I'm definitely saving that extra 225$!!!
Which year’s car is this? I have a 2021 Q7 3.0 but the engine doesn’t look the same

Anyone knows how to unplug the red clip wiring sensor?I just cannot figure it out
@@zhaozach9222 pull the red tab out first
Then try unclipped the clip
What are the very first 2 sensors that you took off. I ended breaking those smh. Got a CEL after that.
I think this answer was meant for someone else
@@bboytony209 I don't know how that reply was sent there.
The two sensors are cam sensors
Damn bro. That SUCKS. But they are weird clips. Hopefully you didn't start the engine
i’m at 37k miles when should i change my spark plugs?
Now! Every 10-20k if using high quality plugs. Aka ngk iridiums
@@boostdynamictuning how do i know when my plugs are going bad or any signs? it seems fine
