He wasn’t trying to save himself by stating”I’m an American” he was setting it up to look like it was the US that attacked Russia. Very simple but effective plan.
Well he was playing a person entitled and self righteous enough to believe that mattered whilst committing acts of terror. So both are definitely right. The Russians are supposed to think thats why he’s saying that and it is a little silly in context.
It doesn't look that intriguing enough. First ep was better but this one got boring.

The dialogue and performances this episode are killer. Seeing sides of Fury we haven’t really gotten to explore before is exactly what I wanted from this show, and so far it’s delivering.

Rhodey’s a skrull. I won’t believe otherwise until further notice. The way he asked Fury to call the other avengers there just sounded weird. And how he was so quick to fire Fury.

Calling Fury a mediocre man was the biggest hint that the Rhodey we saw is a skrull.
It's consistent with all the characters we've seen so far that are pointing out how Fury's lost his touch since coming back from the Blip. That terror attack was a major fumble that Alexander Pierce also used to do like in Bogota Colombia with his daughter

2) At the start when the skrull who got captured, kept saying he's American, it's not that Russians won't give a shit, he's claiming so on purpose to ignite tension between Russia & USA. Achara you got that wrong.

There is greater reason to believe Nick Fury knows his wife is a Skrull because of how readily he embraces their interactive customs, how in the first episode he "knows attractive Skrulls", and how much Fury is able to know and cover secrets.
also she was the one who introduced him to Gravik in the beginning of the episode
I think that the interaction that Fury had with Roddie told fury more than what has been revealed to us in dialogue. It tells Fury that the white house is already compromised, someone at the top is trying to undermine Fury before he gets to the heart of the matter, and that Roddie, someone he has known for a along time could also be a Scrull but his security detail definitely is not haha. That "Mediocre" dig was more telling about Roddie's character toward Fury because it sounded like what a disgruntled Skrull would say to Fury since Fury failed to yet find them a new home.
That actor playing Gravik actually played Malcolm X in the movie about Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke. Very good actor 😎
Great show so far. This show will be very important for the Cpt. America movie and the future of Marvel

@@JADTO I mean, I do understand some of them because of the plot of it. I would rather have a trilogy of movies around this Skrull Invasion. Cause, it’s such a big event in the comics. But if they found a way to make it work as a series, why not? So far, they got the tone right and the dialogue it’s been pretty good. So, I’m in.
I get you but the thing is a trilogy would take damn near a decade to finish. Sam, and most the other actors/actresses, are kinda up in age already.

The conversation between Nick and Talos in the train was peak performance. This show is so gripping it’s amazing.

Hello guys. If they can’t call the Avengers, call your other friends from LA. The Agents, they have experience with invasions and Extemis. Looks like Gravik want powers, those experiments on Groot, Frost Best, Cull Obsidian and Extremis are similar to the FF powers.

I loved this episode as much (or more) than the first one, and I gotta say that Olivia Colman kills it. Everyone else is great, but damn she's GOOD.
I think this episode is the Best or at least on the top 3 best episodes that marvel did on his MCU TV shows.
Rhodey was funny without trying to be funny 😂. I loved his scenes. Was looking forward to him in this series the most honestly. Always liked him better than iron man since the 1994 Spider-Man animated series

Even after 15 years, Nick Fury still manages to surprise me with more and even bigger secrets! I always thought of him as a man who would never plant roots of any kind, but not only is he married, he’s married to a Skrull!?!?!?!
Also as much as I like Rhodey, I’ve lost more respect for him than during Civil War. I get that he’s a soldier to his core, so I understood we he sided with the Accords when he did. But after knowing that the Skrulls are starting False Flag operations to start a new world war, and knowing Fury tried to stop it, he STILL hung him out to dry? I mean he didn’t even offer to unofficially give him some off the books help! Rhodey….you sold out.

I’m pretty sure nick married that skrull that was holding gravik in the beginning in that flashback , so that could be graviks mother or adopted mother unless his family was killed by the kree. Which means nick does know his wife is a skrull but she has to keep that side of her hidden. I actually like what they have done with the skrulls granted I do wish we could’ve seen all the super powered people and the skrulls using their abilities but still we get what we get.

He does this with almost everything. He's very over analytical about the most minute things and he often doesnt make sense in his assessments. Even he'll change Charas opinions when she originally liked what she saw
Once I got past episode 1 of succession, I’ve really started enjoying that. My praise has been strong there. Megan, Puss N Boots, The Lost Boys, John Wick 4, most of the MK cut scenes series we’ve been doing, Dungeons and Dragons, all 3 seasons of Derry Girls, Green Mile. Sang praises for all of that. Those are just the recent ones.

What I like about this series so far is that everyone is so sure that Nick Fury has lost it, that he isn't the man he was. I'm reminded of a certain Dr. Who episode where he chose to hide from his enemy not because he couldn't hurt them, but because to stop them he would have to hurt them in the most horrible ways possible. The Skrulls are so sure that Nick isn't the man he once was, well, watch out, when you push that man, and the old him, the one you feared and respected comes back, you might not like the results.
This episode was SO much better than the pilot. It actually had engaging scenes, and was MCU polished, in a good way.

There's also degrees. Neil Breen writes mature stories, but they are no where near Civil War level in quality.

Asian dude didn’t get a line, but Shirley is also Asian and got a bunch of lines. Doesn’t that sort of even it out?
Also in the flashback there was a lingering shot of Varra’s engagement ring, likely to foreshadow the end and indicate that they were already an item.
It’s just that back to back I saw a moment where an Asian dude is in the room during an important meeting and has zero lines. The same thing happened in Dungeons & Dragons.
Just an FYI but the soldier that was saying “I’m an American” at the beginning was a Skrull so he was saying that so Russia knew who to blame

I love this show so far. Intrigued by Priscilla, Fury's wife. I heard the Asian guy had more lines that ended up cut. It sounds like the Skrulls started the war with the Kree, and lost.
in the script fury knew his wife is a skrull, but apparently on set they actually changed it so there's no clear yes or no answer.

Looks like we are getting a version of Super Skrull. Groot, Frost Beast, Cull Obsidian, and Extremis. The trailer makes more sense now when the leader Skrull uses to what looks to be a Groot ability

Great reaction. I really love this show, the person screaming "I'm American, I'm American" was shouting it to frame the American and Russian conflict. And thats the same skrull geting tortured. I was wondering the same thing about the closed doors but after watching it again and how they prevented the bell from going off, if they closed it, it may have rang.
