He knows she’s a Skrull. She’s the Skrull who introduced him to Gravik in the beginning of the episode.
I thought that and I think it is the same Skrull, but why would she change if he knows?
@@KeeACNH I went back and compared the patterns on her face between the two scenes and it is the same Skrull. She might keep a human shape around him as a token of her love, to adapt to more human ways.
And they did put her ring pretty front and center when they panned in on her and Gravik during the recruitment meeting in the 90s. So they have been together for a while
And; to me, it seems like She and Fury were Gravik's adoptive parents. That seems to be the impetus for why Gravik is twisting the knife soooooo slowly and making sure Fury feels it.

Great reaction! (As expected) but I have a bone to pick with you two. I’m subscribed to a bunch of reaction channels. I usually go through them while on my job because I have the luxury of working alone. For 90% of the reaction videos, I double task at listening to them while keeping my eyes on my work. It’s efficient, convenient, and I usually get all I really need through my ears alone. But y’all are so animated, your facial expressions are so priceless, and emotions so pure. I can’t do that with y’all. I’m forced to wait for lunch break or wait until I’m off so I can WATCH them. You guys are so entertaining you’re inconvenient. That’s my complaint. Never change.

Part of me is wondering if that whole rant Rhodey gave to Fury about firing him was all an act, that he knew the Skrulls were watching him and this was all part of some plan to convince them that Fury was no longer a threat.

I feel like that council member felt safe for 2 reasons. First, it’s clearly incredibly taboo for Skrulls to kill other Skrulls, which sets up Gravik’s actions later in the episode. And second, Gravik just promised the whole council she’d be safe. He has power now, but it’s new power and for now at least he needs the submission of the council. Killing her immediately after guaranteeing her safety sort of undercuts that power and tells the council they can’t trust him.
I think (though I might be wrong about this) that Gaia called in the safehouse location to the police when she left the car while they were rescuing the tortured Skrull and she knew that he would be blamed and executed for it.
I assume this is because there was something at the safe house she wanted taken out of their hands or she hid some intelligence there for Talos to find.
I wasn't sure if you caught it, I think most reactors I've watched were confused about who she was calling and why it didn't seem to come back up.
I wish someone would make a compilation of Jay's laugh, it's contagious and I love it 😂😂

The actress who played Furys wife, was the Scrull Woman that introduced Gravik to Fury. They have known each other since 1997.
I mean to be fair, the Eternals didn’t call Iron Man because he’s dead. Also the Emergence and what happened is an Eternals issue, so they likely wouldn’t see the need for Avengers to get involved in their fights. And the Avengers are basically disbanded right now with half of the original 6 dead/gone, and Thor is off world too, so really only Bruce and Clint are there and Clint is basically retired. Everyone post-Endgame has clearly been dealing with the fallout and being busy worrying about their own issues so it makes sense nobody really is around to help each other out. And alot of the new heroes’ stories we followed have been in their own little corner since they don’t know the big heroes. And the power vacuum and absence actually serves a narrative purpose as that’s why things like the Skrulls and more will eventually become a big problem that will effect the status quo of Earth before the big Avengers films. Their absence is something that others will take advantage of. And it’s likely how the Thunderbolts team will come into play in the midst of that absence.
Not sure if it's just that I'm not used to the new editing or if it's a bit distracting, but the constant zoom ins just feels off still. And the extended conversations between brief clips compared to how the reaction videos were done before also feels noticeable. Not saying it's bad, just really notice it and feel myself wanting quicker cut backs to the video itself.
I have to agree. I felt like we saw them reacting to maybe 2 while minutes worth of clips. Not sure if that's a youtube thing or just trying to get more patreon subscribers but as much as I like watching reactions on previewed, these are some of my least favorite ones
@@mattquinn2215 Yeah, not to mention the bits of video they're reacting to are so brief that I feel like there are good moments I was hoping to see that aren't even included. And I know not everything can, but it feels really paired down compared to their older videos. Not sure if it's a D+ issue with showing too much, but even compared to other Marvel shows, I feel like we aren't getting a lot.
Still love Jay and Adam, it just feels really off.

The way I see it is that the 4 (yes 4!) things on that computer screen: "Groot, Frost Beast, Cull Obsidian, and Extremis" are the PERFECT way of doing the super skrull since we dont have the fantastic 4 yet. You can put each one to a member of the 4. Groot is mr fantastic (vines to stretchyness), Cull Obsidian to the Thing (for just raw power), Frost beast to invisible woman (not a 1:1 sort of thing as invisibility isnt like ice, but the way sue uses force fields could be used with ice powers) and Extremis to the human torch for the fire properties it brings. I think its amazing~

I seriously laughed out loud at the "I'm ollllllld!" If we're talking about 1997 reminiscing, that's also the year the Star Wars special editions came out (my main memory) - I was in 8th/9th grade that year so I'm not quite as old but...still. :) And yeah, the music was great.
I swear I watched that "I'M OOOOOLD" bit on repeat, lol. I have a friend who graduated in 1998, and we both got a kick out of it. Great editing on this video and great reaction!
that council scene legit reminded me of Young Justice where G. Gordon Godfrey, Granny and Vandal and Darkseid met up.
Few things, I don't know if Ga'ia was given the whole plan from Gravik that resulted in the bombing because if she was aware of the plan and was still on team evil skrull then why spy on Gravik's right hand man and the doctor so until we know one way or the other I won't fault her all the way. It is kind of Nick's fault that this is happening because he never kept his word after what like 28 or so years of finding them a home which is why Gravik is doing this. Lastly I think they put a ton of violence that they show in this for a couple reasons, 1. it works really well for this type of show and 2. I think they did it to show people who were nervous deadpool and daredevil would be disney fied.
Fury doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would just "blow off" something as big and important as finding a new home for a group of intergalactic refugees. Looking forward to his reasons/outside explanations. I figure it's connected with the "Snap" somehow. You want unreliable...I don't think _Carol D._ is all that steady. When we saw her in early _Endgame_ and in _Shang Chi,_ she was off patrolling the Galaxy. No mention of a planetary search or the Skrull refugee crisis that was beginning to brew.

I’ve seen people be skeptical of Fury not calling the Avengers back.
He literally didn’t call Captain Marvel back when NYC was being invaded because he didn’t want to show all of the Planet’s hand and would rather establish credibility in the galactic sphere for Earth’s defenders who might more readily be on call. In hindsight it’s actually hilarious the council was ready to Nuke it, when Fury had plenty more cards to play - and it’s incredible that that feels earned and consistent rather than like bullshit, and that there were narrative positives for the nuke anyways!
He brought up Alexander pierce from winter soldier. Not guy pierce who played Aldrich Jillian from iron man 3.

extremis=similar to human torch powers

And the powers of the characters they’re using seem to map pretty well onto the Fantastic Four, as per the Super Skrull in the comics: Groot = stretching, Cull Obsidian = super strength and durability, Extremis = fire (but not flight, unless I’m misremembering?). The only one that doesn’t work is the Frost Beast, unless they can turn invisible.

Regarding this episode itself....
I deadass am enjoying the very serious side of the MCU here. It was fun watching Gods, the Multiverse, the Quantum Realm and other things post-Endgame. But, it was quite nice seeing something that reminded me of Captain America: Civil War (aka the BEST MCU movie).
What a damn great episode. I don't know if whether or not I liked this episode more or liked the first episode more.
Yes, it's not as flashy as typical MCU content (which "fans" ironically complained about), but I'm still digging the meaty elements of this show.
The tense discussion between Rhodey and Fury, as a Black man in America, was *chef's kiss* Damn, I LOVED it. I also really loved the tense conversation between Talos and Fury on the train. Have I mentioned that this episode was tense?
Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik? The more I see him onscreen, is shaping out to be a damn great villain. I know people will be disappointed that no big names are revealed to be Skrulls now, but I think the fact that World Leaders and political analysts are scheming behind the scenes is much more topical to right now.
Olivia Colman during the torture/interrogation scene was delightfully charming and disturbing. I'm liking her vibe in the show/universe. That twist at the end??? Holy hell! Fury is married to a Skrull!?!?!? WHAT!?!?!?
Honestly, if the show keeps up its pace, it'll be up there with Loki and WandaVision and Moon Knight for best MCU Disney Plus show.
Can't wait for next week!

Only two episodes it but this feel like phase 1-3 MCU to anyone else? I’m feeling very Ronan/Hawkeye… don’t… don’t give me hope.

Theory...just on what Rhodey says about calling "our friends" and the other nugget on the computer with the genetic code of a few different entities....what if the big one thing that Fury keeps referring to in regards to what the Skrulls want is for him to actually call upon the Avengers so Gravik can try to harvest more powerful DNA? Thats maybe why he is so adamant on calling this his war he needs to fight alone because he knows the bigger danger of bringing them into the fight?

There is a single problem with this story. They have a planet to give to the skrulls. The garden world with no habitants Thanos went to after infinity war. Prime real estate

Gravik didn't execute the Skrull agent because he broke under interrogation, he executed him because he *refused to say how he'd broken*
Or to put him out of his misery. I don't think he was ever going to survive the journey back to the compound because the stuff that was injected into his body was literally killing him.

This is more like it. The first episode was good but I think it was counting on the Ross turning into a Skrull and Maria Hill death so the rest of the episode could coast a little. This episode I was mesmerized from start to finish. I hope they can keep this up. It doesn't feel like the other series that are all "Oh, it's like a 6 hour movie". This is the first show since Wandavision that actually feels like serialized storytelling and it is glorious. They aren't screwing around either. The Skrulls have pretty much already won. I do not know how Fury is going to sort this out. Since Talos asked for the meeting with Gravik next week should have the bit from the ad where everyone turns into Gravik. Looking forward to that and to finding out what exactly G'iah is doing. I was a little concerned after the first episode but this one has put me at ease that they know what they're doing.

The Kree must really fear the Avengers and/or Carol Danvers b/c their empire could easily show up and destroy Earth....and it would be just to get to the Skrulls. When the combined forces of the Avengers, Wakandans, Asgardians, Reavers, Wong's Mystics, etc etc came together it was just enough to defeat Thanos' ground forces. The Kree have a massive galactic fleet. And now I'm thinking back to the trailer for "The Marvels." Is that when Fury and Ms. Marvel, Photon, and Captain Marvel fight the Kree? I'm just bringing this up b/c if there are a million Skrulls living on Earth, there has to be Kree here too.

As someone who graduated college 6 yrs prior to Adam's HS graduation, I groaned when he dropped that tidbit.
I think that Rhodey is also tight because he feels slighted. Fury never went to HIM when forming the Avengers: he went to an arms dealer. Fury, as far as I know, has never even spoken to Rhodey onscreen before now. Fury went to the white dude with no military expertise, then the other white dude with military intelligence from 70 years ago. I feel like James is ABSOLUTELY legitimized for feeling the way that he does.

I think Rhodey is a Skrull. That's why he wanted to call in The Avengers, to replace them with Skrulls. Fury clocked the reason immediately, so Rhodey went ahead with firing him instead!
Maybe he's been a Skrull all the way back since Iron Man 2. That's why he doesn't look like Terrence Howard anymore! 😅
