NZ had heaps of these old bikes. One old guy told me they were so poorly regarded back in the day that if you were going a long distance, buying one was cheaper than buying the train ticket, and then they'd just dump the bike when they got to where you were going... Not any more - these are valuable bikes now in NZ as elsewhere
A friend acquired one in a crate. We assembled it and it ran fine, was not fast but fun to ride. While gawking at some girls, friend ran it into a parked car.
@@jeromebreeding3302 My Indian Chief has a steady idle sound when spark advance is set properly, don't know why similar side valve Harleys don't have same steady idle exhaust sound.

Seems to have a smoother idle than a Harley WLA, not the characteristic "rump-rump.What's the displacement on that little V-twin ?
