    i love it that you nerd out on toyota tercels and do all the work yourself and make the instructions clear! this is way beyond my capabilities, but watching you rebuild these cars is so satisfying. i will never want another kind of car than this. Mine's an '85.

    Awesome to watch this video now a second time. Since my Tercel SR5 4wd is now running, I can start thinking about having fun with this kind of stuff. And also scrapyard finds making their way to the Tercel project list.

    Maybe an idea to use Owatrol on the rust, so you keep the original look, but it won't rust further. I have used it on my old scooters from the 60's, works really well!

    Update. Just did this rear lift install, with a few minor changes from Luke's, mostly to do with location of air line routing, tee, and Schrader valve etc. I plan to take a different approach on the front lift, using some home fabricated parts.

      I did mess up how to say the parts, I should have refilled it when I realized it later. All the parts numbers are listed in the description of this video. Near the end I show a comparison with a tape measure for the amount of lift gained.

    Cool video. Next time you go to run the airline use a metal hanger to pull it across. A small rope or string would also help. Is that a second grey Tercel behind the turbo Volvo?

      I ran them under the frame and to the bumper on a car in the past and they got caught on sticks and rocks when off-roading and I lost all air pressure on the trails.

    hey man I just found one locally 1984 red color for $1500 but its the basic none sr5 or 4wd. you think its worth getting .?

    • @BeardedWrencher
      @BeardedWrencher  Рік тому

      If it's not crusty, runs and drives good and doesn't need a pile of work. I'd say $1500 isn't too bad. Obviously try and negotiate your way down!
      Is it a manual car? An auto FWD only wagon is a good town cruiser but not the best for long distance driving

      @@BeardedWrencher auto. Seems to just need the from bumper replaced as there’s a small pushed corner. Also from the image the right side yellow plastic of the turn signals and I’m assuming the black trim around the front grill unless it’s something else. The main black grill with the brand tag is there. But when I see the main headlights side to the grill I see 3 cuts that don’t seem align like your car does. The orange 🍊 color back latch it’s what’s I’m mainly loving. Car is red. Wish I could show her to you so can see what I mean. Also I just joined the tercel4wd group. Waiting approval.
