- The sound effects for iOS/iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 Ventura, and HomePod Software 16's Siri (Introduced in Beta 3). These sound effects are going to be phased out starting with iOS/iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia.

The activated sound for Siri is really not that good when using CarPlay really unclear and not that loud. I hope they change it, but really great video!! Thanks for making it!
Yeah it’s generally pretty quiet unless the volume is quite high in my usage. I had to even slightly increase the volume of the clips while I was editing

In my car, the sound is horrible and LOUD. I hate it. Also, it shows up "late"... that is to say, I have already started talking to Siri when I hear the "Doo do" sound. It’s such a depressing clunk horrible sound. UGH.

Update: New discovery!
There’s apparently 2 other sounds I missed, jbl_begin_short, and jbl_begin_short_carplay
These are slightly modified versions of the jbl_begin sound just without the first tone, only the last one.
Someday I think I’m gonna just make an entire video covering the iOS “UISounds” folder in iOS 16. It’s really interesting stuff in there somewhat
How do I get to the iOS iu folder in iOS 16?
I feel the new sounds could do with being just a more modern version which sounds similar to the original, just so they're easier to hear.

LMAO Yeah I couldn’t find any other videos for it really so I just decided may as well do it myself
I hope some day Google will create new sounds for Google Assistant, the same goes for Alexa and Amazon. To be honest, the new Siri sounds sound kinda similar to the Alexa sounds for activation and other stuff. I think Amazon should change their Alexa sounds, just so no one gets confused.
Best take I’ve seen so far. Everyone should honestly update their voice assistant sounds too, might as well. Can’t be too hard considering how short they are.

You forgot about Cortana. I recently updated to iOS 16 and have these sounds. Yes, Cortana is still in Windows 11, but less relevant than Windows 10.
@@winelectronic101 Wait a minute what? Also, don't be surprised if Amazon changes the alexa sounds because of how similar the sounds are. Also, do you know the names of the other US Siri voices besides Aaron and Nora? I mean, I know about Nicky but the other 3 Siri voices. Also I don't use Eloquence because I don't really like it. But did you ever get your hands on the other Vocalizer voices, like Evan, Matilda, (not to be confused with Microsoft Matilda,) Isha, and Stephanie? Also, is Evan now available in sapi5? I've also heard Samantha sounds different in IOS 16. I wouldn't blame you if you don't normally use eloquence, I think you would just end up using Evan, Right? Also, there is a way to get voices from IOS to MP3 in shortcuts, so if your mac virtual machine was destroyed, well, you can still use mac voices, as well as the other Vocalizer voices, in your TTS videos. Would love to see Vocalizer Evan participate in the war with ESpeak. Oops! did I break the fourth wall? Well, crud! It's not Mike who is gonna get me this time, actually Daniel.
Sounds futuristic I like them
no clue if anyone else has said this or not but the ambiguous and no_match sounds are sort of a leftover from the iOS Voice Control. the one we had before Siri, and NOT the voice control accessibility feature in iOS now. it’s also known as simply Classic Voice Control and is a lot less flexible than Siri, and also a lot less capable too.
I entirely forgot about that, I wondered why they weren't used seemingly anywhere with Siri! Thanks for that information.

Still prefer the Cortana activation sound from windows phone.
Cortana’s sounds were definitely interesting to me. I think they were better especially than the older Siri sounds that were simply 2 beeps
I just noticed them on mine and I’m not a fan. It seems sluggish and takes too long, not nearly as nice as the 2 short quick chirps from before. Hopefully they play with these more
I actually just synced up both sounds on video, the old one is 10 frames of video and the new one is a whopping 42 frames. So it’s over 4 times longer. What makes it worse is the old one is 2 quick tones, each effectively take up only 5 frames each, whereas this new one is a single tone being dragged over 8 times as long as the short tone, at 42 frames
Yeah I expect Beta 4 to probably change the delay at least but they’ll most likely keep the changed sounds since they’ve been the same since iOS 7

@@Adeseo It’s a depressing sound as well. I remember there was a study done on sounds, like the opening of Netflix, Hulu, etc. Netflix for instance has an upbeat sound that alerts your psyche that something great is about to happen. Such a good marketing ploy I guess. I don't remember which streaming service it was, but one was depressing and hard for our ears to tolerate. The Voice (TV Show) has a negative one as well. But I digress...

Action completed is when you activate a shortcut via Siri
I cannot hear Siri stopped sound, and when I try to stop Siri, it just goes silent. It’s rare to hear cancel sound or Siri confirm sound.
Same here in my testing. I have not actually heard those sounds while using the OS (even though I don’t use Siri much). But, they sure are present in the system technically
@@forcequitOS I got a bug in voice text in Safari browser, that whenever I press the microphone button it plays Siri begin sound, and when I finish it plays Siri confirm sound and sometimes siri confirm sound plays fully, and sometimes it’s muffled at the end.

Similar sounds are used in dictation. Perhaps they were also changed there.

I miss the old sounds. They were... cheerful and kind of playful, in a sense. The new ones sound like a Tesla :(
Siri Action Confirmed is now used in iOS 16.3 when you toggle a HomeKit device.

I hate them I guess the one I hate is the one where I say hey Siri and she goes Donk it’s like something heavy dropped on the ground instead of someone light and attentive excited to see me. If this can’t be changed I will probably stop allowing Siri to be used at all. That’s how much I dislike it.
But I don’t hear them in iPadOS 16…
