Yes please do a video on your (scriptural) prayers… it be so helpful for me, as I’m sure others would also find this helpful. I am new to your UA-cam and looking forward to following you. ❤
purple: characteristics of God blue: something to do, a command green: promises orange: something not to do pink: prayer red: important brown: historical date/place navy: righteous characteristics black: notes, quotes, references + connections
For my highlighting, i feel pink is a personal color, so I use pink for those words I feel are spoken especially to me, something I really want to apply. I love the poetry in the Bible and references to nature so I use green to mark those that I especially love. Words that are calming and comforting I highlight with blue. Words that are commands I use orange (whether they are commands to do something or to avoid something). I save red to draw a heart over my absolute favorite passages. I think I will take your advice and add purple for the attributes of God and the Names of God.
I just came across this video and have to say, l love it! Your explanation of colour coding is easy to understand, and your bright and bubbly personality is wonderful. New subscriber here. Watching from Australia
I don't highlight in my new CSB Bible. I used to highlight. But, I am a person who constantly changes my mind. So, when I used to highlight, I'd pick colours... But, then I'd want to change my mind on the colours, etc... It also was distracting me from actually studying and reading. So I've only used black pen for the last couple of years. But, I love your colour code. Not sure if you personally came up with this particular colour code, or you've got it from elsewhere. But, when I do a MEGA IN-DEPTH study of each New Testament book starting in March. I definitely will use this colour coding in my notebook.
Awesome! Yes, I got it from my dad! He taught it to me when I was 9 or 10, so I have been using it over 20 years now. So excited for your study coming up!
I love this method of color code, I know this will help me with my bible study. Yes, please add a video on how to pray scripture. I would also like to learn how to do this. Thank you Eva!
Thank you soooo much for not making brown or black a negative such as sin. I have worked with children for years that have had issues because their skin color was conveyed as the color of sin or judgment or hate.
🎀I enjoy using several colors like this too,Eva! I will try lining instead of my bulky highlighting. Thanks for the extra tips!💖Yes! I would like to know about 🙏praying. Glad I found your channel today!
I use colored pens similar to yours. My purple is reserved for characters of God and Jesus’ humanity/divine nature. I underline a passage in purple and put a purple star next to it if it is a prophecy of Christ’s coming or if it was fulfilled in the New Testament.
I do not use a color code system, I do however see the value in it and like your explanation. I may consider color coding in my next Bible. Enjoy your videos.
Hi! Im interested in your course for the color coding the Bible … just curious what is the average time of completion with consistency? I’m trying to figure out what is my time investment ? Thank you 😊
You can spend as much or as little time as you want on it! The videos are 5ish minutes each, and then there is a list of examples to go with each one. I suggest taking at least 1 week per unit (there are 3 units) so that you can get used to using the colors and what they mean before adding more!
Perfect! 😍 A 3 week time investment ! Super duper! I’m even more excited! I appreciate your prompt response - I’ll allot myself the whole Jan 2025 to study (1 month to add a few grace days - lol) , practice, and continue to implement! I’m sooo grateful for you creating this space - this is why I enjoy the internet 🛜
Underline, Brackets & Symbols. 1. Purple - Characteristics of God. Showing who God is. Name of God. Something God does revealing more about Himself. 2. Blue (Light Blue) - Something to do. A Command. Don't use colors like black and brown, use warm &bright colors(e.g.:where is yellow?) You have a very good ideea to study scripture using colors. I like it.
Eva, how did Paul and John, et al, know and understand the books of Moses and what Jesus taught them without a set of colored pens and a 6" ruler? The Holy Spirit was left for them and us to bring all knowledge to us. Nine colors ... would God be angry if I used 6 or 7? I do not agree with what you are doing. Do you actually study your Bible and how did anyone understand anything before highlighters? What if you had no colored pens to mark what is important, oh, perhaps you would have to memorize a verse or two ;-) Every moment you are striking a line in the book you are not paying attention to God or the Holy Spirit are you? Contrary to popular belief one cannot multitask effectively. And even if you could God requires all of your attention while in His Word. It wasn't inspired to be a coloring book. God gave us minds to use to study, learn and remember what He told us. There is no such thing as a "proper" way to mark up a Bible. And how much time did you spend working this out. One last question, do you think God will chastise you for not marking the right verse? Please... in your next video speak to others about the Gospel of Christ Risen and the gift of the Holy Spirit who will bring us all knowledge. We do not need a yellow highlighter. Why would you sell anything to help someone to understand God's inspired Word? I can hear it now, "Oh, how wonderful you have committed your life to Jesus, here, give me some money and I will teach you how to study... honestly? God's Word was not left for us to use it as a coloring book. I believe you err here.
