It takes me longer to digest the holy word so right now I’m reading from one Bible and through BibleGateway. I want to read/listen to the Bible all the way through first before digging deeper. You have some good reasons though. You’ll need lots of shelf space too. 😂
No new bible every year for me. I put dates by my notes and its so full of personal revelations that its taken on a holy spirit type of life of its own, its become a special sacred place for me. ( Ive been adding pages for extra room.)
When my mom passed away, I added her Bible to my mini "Bible library." As I began spending time in her Bible I began to see where she had made notations next to Scriptures throughout. Many of these were simple notations of just a date and a family member's first name. In a short time I was able to see which Scriptures she had been praying for me throughout my lifetime, and the date she started praying those verses for me. It was quite the revelation to me as I began to calculate my age at the time she was praying various verses for me. I could remember certain situations and seasons of difficulty I was having at the time she had dated those Scriptures, and I could see how God had answered her prayers and intervened miraculously in those situations. As I continue to use her Bible as my primary Bible, I'm also able to continue praying these Scriptures over the other family members whose names she also included, and I continue to see God moving in their lives in line with those verses. And now I add my children's and grandchildren's names and the date I began praying those verses for them. Its cover is missing now, and the binding/spine is torn away from the pages, and some of the pages that have fallen out are just tucked inside, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Eventually I'll probably have to have it professionally recovered and repaired. But for now, I've got it tucked in an old fabric Bible cover that has a zipper that keeps everything together inside. Thanks for sharing your stories with us. Blessings!
Oh, how incredible, and what an absolute TREASURE! I pray that I can leave a legacy for my daughters like your mom left for you. Thank you so much for sharing.
I saw someone in 2023 talking about having a new Bible every year, and the idea of it made sense…and made me happy. 2024’s Bible was a hardback journaling ESV. 2025’s is a softcover chronological CSB (with enough room in the margins for notes). I’m excited!!
The pride one really stuck out to me. I have an issue with finding value or being pump up with the fact that I have a filled Bible, instead of being in the word of God. Love this ideal
The best Bible is the one you’re going to read, meditate upon and absorb for life application by way of sanctification. Doesn’t matter how many marks or highlights are in it but how often it’s open and read.
The picture + video description surprised me so after having it pop up on my feed a few times, I clicked to watch. So glad I did! I’ve never heard concept before but I really like it. I have several Bibles already + money is tight right now so I’ll use what I have for 2025. Plan is for 2026 to get a new Bible 😊 It’s like bullet journaling, where you can step back in time + read to remember what you were going through in any given year.
100% agree. I get a new bible each year. I like to switch them out. This year is NLT however instead of marking this one up I am reading a few chapters and then writing an overview of what I read.
I get a new Bible every year, too. Sometimes I have some waiting to be used on my bookshelf because I try to get them on sale. I used to mark up my Bibles, but now I write in a notebook. I like reading without the highlighting and notes. I find them distracting when I reread sections.
A tip if someone doesn't want to/can't have a new bible each year: I started using each year a different pen to write down my notes or underline passages (I also highlight passages, but these colors correlate to a theme like "attributes of God" etc). So far, a black pen was for 2023, pink for 2024, and my color for 2025 is light blue! I also write the date next to my notes. These colors help me see what stood out to me each year. ☺
I really appreciated you sharing this. You're the second person I've watched sharing on this idea. I had not thought to do this before, but I am going to start with a new Bible also this year. I think this will help me tremendously in my Bible Study time. I read through the Bible every year also. But I like to have a "clean" Bible to read because I get distracted by my previous notes. Each year God has me Study different portions of scripture & He usually reveals new things to me, so it's hard to make all the notes in one Bible year after year. I especially like the idea of getting a new translation every year since I already study from several different translations. And another good reason for a new Bible every year is because I would eventually like to pass my Bibles on to my children & grandchildren, but if I only have one that would be difficult deciding who should get it. Thank you so much for sharing!
I don’t get a new Bible each year, but I do have several in different translations. Sometimes I will read a few chapters in one translation and then another. Doing that helps certain things stand out. I agree that if you want to spend money on a Bible that’s fine. A YT and pastor said “people don’t have a problem spending $1000. on a phone but cringe at spending $$ on a Bible.” I buy nicer Bibles because I’m getting to an age where I need a larger font and better Bibles have quality paper, so less ghosting. I also enjoy my Bibles and often have several in front of me to see the difference. I wish I started reading the Bible seriously when I was young. I did Bible studies but it wasn’t until 6 years ago that I really got into Gods word. I love it and like you said I feel so lucky that we have so many Bibles available to us!
YES! I love this perspective. I wish sometimes that I was more serious about my Bible study earlier too, but then I just get so grateful that God grabbed my heart when He did. Thank you for sharing. ☺️
Love the way you spoke about pride as I’ve had those prideful thoughts myself. Really needed to hear that. Truly came from the Holy Spirit . Great video. God bless you sister 🙂
All your points are quite valid. I had been getting a new bible every year. I have even bought two this year. I am going to use one of my study bibles with an online bible study group. But, I am going to start using a simple NKJV bible with the Grant Horner reading plan. He has the opposite philosophy. He has been using the same physical bible since 1986. He has had it rebound. He found a backup of the same edition. He recommends using the very same bible, to become very familiar with the text. He reads a chapter from 10 different sections daily. I am still working out how I am going to do this. I think I will do my group reading assignments early in the week, and the Grant Horner later in the week.
I have done the Horner reading plan before and LOVED it! Happy reading!! I think that’s actually the hardest thing for me when switching. I get so familiar with one, and I have to relearn the new one. I usually will read through the whole thing in the first 2-3 months of the year to get acclimated to it. Let me know how it goes, I would love to hear how the reading plan works for you.
Thank you for this video. I bought a bible a new bible ($5 on Thriftbooks) because I want a clean bible for 2025. I love my marked up bibles but I found myself wanting a clean page so I can read and meditate on scripture . If I feel compelled to write notes I will use a notebook.
I had a college professor that said, "if your page edges aren't dirty" you'd probably fail the course or get demerits. Dirty page edges show you are reading or re-reading them.
Funny that this popped up. I was looking at getting another study Bible in a different translation but I told myself I didn’t need another Bible right now. I asked myself if I was buying it just because. I have mulitple Bibles in different translations but I think your reasoning makes sense. I haven’t bought one each year but last year I bought 2 and this year I only bought 1. I bought them as I entered different phases of life and wanted a new Bible for it. Also, I can’t see so I’m buying large print Bibles now. LOL The thought of having a fresh start and not reviewing old notes stands out to me. In college I wanted new books for this exact reason - I didn’t want to see old notes, specifically someone else’s. I do write in my Bibles, but not a lot. I prefer to use journals and notebooks so I’m can write freely and not limited on space. Thank you for sharing your POV.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! I also have to run through the question: "am I buying this Bible just because?!" I feel like I could so easily blow the budget because I love buying Bibles!
The BSB is one of my favorite translations. Probably one of the most well balanced translations I’ve ever used. I love your reasoning behind changing bibles yearly. I seriously may give that a try. Thanks!
I, too, get a new Bible each year. Sometimes 2. I buy a daily chronological one to read cover to cover every year and I’ll get another “normal” Bible to use for Bible studies. I like to start fresh and new every year! 🙂❤️
Love this idea ❤❤❤ I have a Bible I just read from. Another to mark up and highlight my favorite verses.. yes yes I love my Bibles especially when it is. Gift to me too.
Now I know I’m not the only one. What better way to invest my money than in God’s Word. In the last two years I have bought MANY devotional and study Bibles in English and Spanish. I use them to compare verses in different translations. My GOAL apply God’s word to my LIFE.
When I finish a bible read-through, I switch translations and grab another reading plan to start over... So far, NKJV start to finish, CSB in a chronological order, LSB in a 3 month plan, and now NIV in Faith's grace bible reading plan
Let me start out w saying: spend your money on what you want/what you want to afford. We all have our indulgent areas, hobbies, etc. But have you thought about keeping a journal? I have kept a journal through much of my life. The nature of what was in it has changed as have the numbers of journals I have kept for assorted dedicated purposes, life changes, right? Some of us don't even wait out the year to make those changes, ;) . 1 of the types of journals I kept was 1 inwhich I wrote down the scripture that I was reading/studying/that hit me hard that moment, that day. I also wrote down additional thoughts about the passage or the struggle that the passage was illuminating in my life. - usually in a different colored pen to tell the difference between the passage and my thoughts on it. If I didn't want the exercise of writing out a longer passage then I referenced it but don't discount what the act of writing out scripture can do - for 1 thing, it lengthens our time w that particular passage (& yes, I have written out chapters, I still do). My mentioning journal keeping relates to what you were saying about remembering points in life and your scripture study, your journal will pin point more precisely life events & might even correlate things of life to those studies as you may end up writing in that journal beyond the bible study: for example, in another entry you might be able to record the first time that an insight you just gained in a study was immediately applied to life. How reinforcing that is! And then to read or revisit the journal to see the pattern of that repeating itself over and over as God's grace increases with your walk during each life season, now more completely documented. Just a thought. Best wishes & God Bless.
I do keep a journal! Those are more for my long form notes. As I read through the Bible though, it seems that almost every year the Lord has a different theme that stands out to me as I read. Great thoughts on journaling! 😊
I have to say that I just discovered your channel and I subscribed. It's so nice to see a young lady who loves the Word of God. It does me well to see this. For most of my Christian walk, I have really read one version and that is the NASB95 up until a few years ago. I have read the NIV, the Living Bible paraphrase, parts of the ESV and I loved the CSB recently. I've enjoyed the NKJV and recently I also started reading The Tree of Life Version - my new fave and the Complete Jewish Bible. My husband just bought me a new Authorized KJV, which is making me read more intentionally because it's old English. I only memorize in the NASB95, which is a question I have for you - do you memorize scripture? I did when I was first saved, and started again about 5 years ago with Psalm 119. I am only about 40 verses away from finishing that! Woo hoo! I'm 56 and look forward to reading a new version of the bible, from here on out for however long the Lord has me here.
You are too kind!! So thankful you are here. I have been working over the last year to start Internalizing more Scripture, and next year, my goal is to internalize the Sermon on the Mount. I have always wanted to memorize Psalm 119! Look at you go!
God is always right on time !!!! I needed this so very much. Thank you !!!!!! I know God lead me here as I desperately needed to hear this message. Thank you and God bless.
That’s so nice! Sometimes I put two next to each other, read a few chapters in one and then the other. I understand and memorize the chapters better this way.
I have read different translations, namely the NASB and NKJV, but am now KJV only. After reading Gail Riplinger's book, "New Age Translations", she explained in great detail how the other translations (NIV, ESV, NASB, etc.) have changed and deleted verses throughout the Bible and has the resources to back it up. Because of her six year research in writing the book with solid prooftexts, I only read the Authorized Version KJV.
My college bible professor spoke and read Greek and hebrew. He had copies of the original. They all have little things different than the original. He recommended the kjv or esv. Neither had salvation issues.
@honeybee4248 Any translation published after the KJV (1611) is considered new age wrought with deletions and changes in the authorized text. If you haven't read Gail Riplinger's book on new age translations, it's worth reading. ESV is one of the new age translations, as is the NIV, NASB, NLT, NKJV....the list goes on.
I buy a new Bible when I see one that really strikes my eye. I use many different Bibles in the course of studying. I use different Bibles for different things.
I keep moving through different translations, but I’m also learning about the differences between a life application study Bible and a study Bible that has more historical or archeological details. If I’m studying and not just reading, it’s normal that I have several different study bibles and versions out at once. Very good thoughts. Thanks.
I have a bible for each of my 3 children .It's a bible that matches their personality. I alternate these bibles and do my bible study in them add notes etc .When I go home to Jesus each child will be given their bible and hopefully it will be like still having a part of me here with them to help them on their walk with Jesus .I have a long way to go yet of reading all three so hope I don't go yet ❤❤
I can see the idea but I am 43 now and my mom deceased 9 years ago and I wish I had her bible to see how she thought about the things. I would want her bible to match her personality it would mean so much more to me then get a bible from her that matches my personality cause I already have that. My bible(s).
I write in only one bible but read multiple, I love reading different translations. But I want all my notes in one place because if I want to find a particular note don't have to search for it 😊
That is actually a good idea! I just got a new Bible but don't want to write in it coz I don't want to "mess it up". I am going to use this tip, especially on different translations.
I like the idea of getting a new Bible every year. It sounds fun! I think the only thing that keeps me from doing it is that taking notes keeps me really engaged and paying attention, and I don't think I would bother taking notes in a Bible if I'm not going to be using it next year.
I have 3 new Bibles for 2025! I may have a slight problem lol! Ok...one is a large Bible that I will keep at home. One is a "Bible In A Year" (all the verses you need for each day of the week on one or 2 pages! EASY!) and one for my new Bible "Purse" that is thin and light weight that is easy to carry to church. My new tote literally looks like a cross-body purse and has room for my wallet, phone and chapstick as well as my Bible and pens!
Sounds nice. Bible addiction is a real thing and a legit addiction. 🙋🏼♀️ Do you vlog? If so are you going to do a vlog of your 3 new ones and your new tote? 😊
I quit having a study Bible so I could focus on reading the Bible. I've been reading BSB for about 3 years. I really like it and like that they aren't controlling the use with their copyright.
I started a bible buying habit, but it has gotten out of hand and so now I am working on not buying anymore bibles. This is my own decision and not to shame anyone else looking for a bible. Out of my own library collection I have yet to find one that I really love and with December coming to a close and the new year looming I want to find one that I will use consistently. That is my goal for 2025 😊
I follow the Bible Recap and have read through the Bible in a different translation each time. Getting a new Bible each year helps me get excited to start the plan…it’s like getting new school supplies 😊
I actually find that when I am reading my bible and see all my notes, it enhances my reading and it gives me a greater insight and understanding of the Word of God. I use bible dictionaries and commentaries to help my understanding. If I used a different bible every year then I'd end up writing similar notes all the time.
I use the NLT for my daily Bible reading. For study, I use the NRSV and look at other translations of what I am studying. I have a large collection of different Bibles in different translations plus I use Logos and Bible Gateway. I probably buy at least one Bible a year, but am not as intentional about it as you are. 🙂
Sounds like you have a great system. I used to buy way more, but I have slowed down and settled into one a year. They are fun to buy though, so its hard to regulate sometimes 😆
I have Logos and Bible Gateway, too. I use Bible Gateway more because I don't have time to take all those seminars on using Logos. Logos isn't intuitive to me like Bible Gateway is.
@@EvaKubasiak I agree! I love to read all the new notes and features of different Study Bibles. Even though I have Logos and Bible Gateway, I still love a print Bible in my hand.
interesting. I don't get a new one each year, but I have accumulated 6 so far. I get a new one when the one I'm currently reading has no more space for notes. I try to get a different translation each time a buy a new one, to get a new perspective. I do like the idea, though, of remembering that particular year. You've given me something to think about and will possibly implement starting next year. Thank you.
Awesome! So glad it was something new to think about. I think waiting until there is no more space for notes is also a good judge for when to get a new one too!
I haven’t gotten a new Bible EVERY year yet, but do get a new one (in a different version) when the notes seem to overwhelm my reading - usually every two years. I haven’t kept mine. I donate them instead.
@@EvaKubasiak I don’t really have room keep all the Bibles. Anything note worthy is usually in a journal or study file. I am finding that I rarely have time to go back and when I do, it takes longer to re tune my mind to understand the notes, and many times they don’t help in my current situations. If I was praying over somebody and noting that in the Bible instead of a separate journal, then I’d probably jeep the Bible.
I feel like I’m missing the point. I thought the purpose of marking up your Bible was so you could learn and refer to the notes from year to year. If you’re starting over fresh each year then what’s the point of making notes? I hope this doesn’t sound adversarial I’m newish to Bible study and genuinely confused now.
I take a ton of notes in one Bible and highlight the notes to match the verses. I treasure those notes! When I fill up a Bible only then do I start a new one. I often go back to my retired Bibles for reference. My notes in any new Bible I start will often be different because I am now different (older or have gained more spiritual insight) - but I still go back to my retired Bible's notes to look at them - and often expound on them in the new Bible. I am now on my third Bible. This is what works best for me.
@@TheCripeCrew if you are new to this and just getting your bearings, absolutely keep the same Bible and build on the notes! At some point, things will start to become more and more familiar. You definitely don’t have to use this or any other tips on my channel if they don’t work for you in a specific season. My goal is never to confuse you!
For years and years I used the same Bible, till it fell apart, then I got another that was exactly the same! I’m not sure HOW I was able to find the exact same Bible, because the first was given to me when I was 10yrs old, and the other one I found when I was 27!!! I then got another translation in 2002, and used that same Bible till 2020, and ordered the exact same Bible on amazon (used), cause I loved it. That 2002 Bible was taped with packing tape…inside and out! 😂 It wasn’t until the end of 2023 that I thought about doing a yearly Bible. I DID LOVE the familiarity of reading the same Bible, over and over, and seeing my notes and references…but now I want to see the new things that strike me each year. I want to study in a new translation. I want to pray IN my Bible, and see that on 3/14/2024, God was saying ______ to me. So for decades, I did use the same Bibles…and doing so is wonderful. But so many of my notes are gone, because those Bibles had no room for notes. So many times I did in depth studies…but marked up and took notes in journals, or in those study books…and I don’t have the notes from those. In 2024, I started the year with a journaling Bible…with 2” of space alongside of the written word of God…so I COULD write down so many notes. And I don’t think I can ever go back to not having that space to write in! I do suggest, when using the same Bible over and over, to date when God speaks to you thru certain passages of Scripture!!! So you when you read thru again, you see when He gave you those verses to be important in your life! ❤️❤️
I love this idea, I have a new bible for each year as well, and I change out different translations for each year, or go back to favorite translations again. To keep your notes together in one place for you to reference them, would you combine the different notes into one Bible or maybe on a word document marking up what year you noted it? Or is it too much of a hassle to try to combine the notes? Thanks for this video!
An idea: one Bible can be used just for marking it and for notes. The other one can be left empty. But girl, you should do your thing as we are all different. Best.
Sometimes I wish I would live in America. I live in Belgium. It isn't that easy to find a bible here that leaves place to take notes. And they are expensive and we don't have that many choice in translation. 🤷♀️
@@EvaKubasiak yeah and they don't look so cute. You have so many choices there. But I see the same with some foods and drinks. But I am sure we are born in the family and places God chose for us. So it will all be for a good reason. And I am happy that I have a bible and a study bible and the internet. Very gratefull cause there are people who don't have or could affort these.
Certainly nothing wrong with that. However, you are young. If you keep getting a new one yearly for the rest of your life, where will you keep maybe 50-60 Bibles? I do like to look at different versions as well.
I have thought of that too! I really don't know. I have several good bookshelves in my house though, so we will see. Maybe I will slow down at some point.
Some churches or church groups GIVE AWAY new bibles! You might get to know which one it is, and give some donations to help, sinces printing them is not free.
I’m tryingggg to find the perfect study bible for me but am having no luck. I’ve bought two and I just can’t get attached to them 😢 I want a really good Niv study bible
People (by people I mean me) spend hundreds of dollars on planner supplies over the years. A new Bible you can interact with all year is a much better investment. You mentioned that other countries don’t have the same access to Bibles as we do in the U.S. Why not take your passion for Scripture and support or partner with an organization that provides or translates Bibles for the unreached nations? This is not a criticism - I see your passion and could see you making a big impact in that area of ministry!
A seventh reason is based on something taught by either the pastor of Moody Bible Church or the dean of the Institute, back in the 90s, which I heard on the radio. He said a Christian should read a different Bible every year, even if it's the same translation, but for a specific focus. One year may be theology, who is God? Another year may be the gospel. Another year may be eschatology. Another year may be covenant. And if a theme is smaller, one might read for two related themes in one Bible for a year. Develop a marking system for the theme. For instance, after hearing this, I immediately read through a Bible for seven or eight major points of the gospel. This was a color-coded approach. I eventually built a salvation tract of scriptures only based on what I read. So, one Bible a year for a different focus theme each year. I started one a few years ago on the attributes of the glory of God found in Exodus 33:18, 19; 34:5-8. This is a longer project, but this Bible is dedicated to the glory of God as it is ultimately incarnated in Jesus Christ, since the last phrase of Ex. 34:6 is quoted twice in John one as the concise description of the incarnation. If I may add hear a recommendation: since you are a presenter on UA-cam, articulation is extremely important. You have a strong tendency to upspeak. When speaking, no matter whether one is coming to a period, colon, semi-colon, exclamation point, or comma, and since we are talking about vocalization, any pauses between words, whether it's between phrases or taking a moment to think what to say next, the voice should never go up. One can raise the voice on a previous accented syllable or on a previous word, but the last thing out of the mouth should come down. this sounds much more educated, much more professional and confident. Upspeaking is a relatively recent change in the way people speak in this country, grounded in our failing education system, and frankly, it is not good articulation at all. I turn off videos that I am interested in when there is too much up speaking. It is quite irritating when some people do it because, for instance, I've heard presenters never drop their voice even at a period. So I encourage you to work on this, maybe watch some videos on it. It will give your presentations a more confident and authoritative sound. I'm not suggesting something I don't do myself. I watch videos on speaking lower in tone, more slowly, addiction, articulation, etc. How to avoid unnecessary adverbs like like, actually, just, even, literally, etc. How to shut my mouth and say nothing when I pause.
1 bible, a new notebook every year would be better. Wide margin for notes if you want to write them in the b8ble itself, but you dont need to and I'd say you shouldnt get a new bible every year.
I'm sorry but not marking up your Bible isn't pride. That's false humility. Pride is thinking you've got it all figured out and understand everything there is to know about scripture. It's also thinking you got this understanding on your own. You acknowledging you've came along way through your Bible notes isn't pride. That sounds like false humility to me.
Interesting video and I can see how this may be helpful for some. However if we're taking notes in our Bible that adds context, meaning or application to a passage, it will be helpful to build off this knowledge right by re reading and adding. Because we study our Bibles to understand God's word & His heart. But hey, as long as we're in the word! 🙏
Yes! I totally get that. I don’t usually put those deeper notes in my Bible - I actually have a digital notes tracker where I put those types of things. I mostly write personal application in my Bible as I am going through it. It sounds like you have a good system that works for you, and I agree - as long as we are in the Word! ☺️
Would you get a new Bible each year, or are you more sentimental with keeping a Bible for a longer time?
It takes me longer to digest the holy word so right now I’m reading from one Bible and through BibleGateway. I want to read/listen to the Bible all the way through first before digging deeper. You have some good reasons though. You’ll need lots of shelf space too. 😂

I use two. One for Bible study, and one that I use for more personal thoughts, prayers etc… . I also switch up the translations that I use.
I have several bibles and some of them in different languages. But no, I won't get a new bible for each year. I think I'm good with the ones I have.

That’s a great way to do it!! I think I am going to focus on overviews/summaries next year in my Bible reading.
A tip if someone doesn't want to/can't have a new bible each year:
I started using each year a different pen to write down my notes or underline passages (I also highlight passages, but these colors correlate to a theme like "attributes of God" etc).
I'm excited that you are going to try it! I hope it works well for you!
I don’t get a new Bible each year, but I do have several in different translations. Sometimes I will read a few chapters in one translation and then another. Doing that helps certain things stand out.
I agree that if you want to spend money on a Bible that’s fine. A YT and pastor said “people don’t have a problem spending $1000. on a phone but cringe at spending $$ on a Bible.”
I buy nicer Bibles because I’m getting to an age where I need a larger font and better Bibles have quality paper, so less ghosting.
It's definitely something that I have to keep in mind. I don't want (even accidental) pride to get in the way of my relationship with the Lord.
Thriftbooks - I wouldn't have thought to look there for a Bible! That's great!
I had a college professor that said, "if your page edges aren't dirty" you'd probably fail the course or get demerits.
Dirty page edges show you are reading or re-reading them.
I 100% get this sentiment!
Thanks!
I have really loved it for when I have used it! Awesome! Thank you!
I, too, get a new Bible each year. Sometimes 2. I buy a daily chronological one to read cover to cover every year and I’ll get another “normal” Bible to use for Bible studies. I like to start fresh and new every year! 🙂❤️
Yes! There is something beautiful about a fresh start!
I get my daughters a new one each year, they love it.
That’s a great gift idea!!
Love this idea ❤❤❤ I have a Bible I just read from. Another to mark up and highlight my favorite verses.. yes yes I love my Bibles especially when it is. Gift to me too.
Oh, I love that! Not marking in one, and using one to highlight/mark in! Great system.
I make my own multi-ribbon bookmarks which are so helpful............
Never really thought about getting a new Bible every year, I'll consider it!
I love the multi-ribbon bookmarks! Those are so cool!
Now I know I’m not the only one. What better way to invest my money than in God’s Word. In the last two years I have bought MANY devotional and study Bibles in English and Spanish.
I use them to compare verses in different translations.
My GOAL apply God’s word to my LIFE.
Yes! Love that!!
When I finish a bible read-through, I switch translations and grab another reading plan to start over... So far, NKJV start to finish, CSB in a chronological order, LSB in a 3 month plan, and now NIV in Faith's grace bible reading plan
Love that! Great system!
Ive had the same Bible forever!!! My husband said he l knows i would be lost with a new one since i refer to my notes in mine often.
Oh, I love that! 💕
@@EvaKubasiak You go girl! I may add the Sermon on the Mount to my list too :)
God is always right on time !!!! I needed this so very much. Thank you !!!!!! I know God lead me here as I desperately needed to hear this message. Thank you and God bless.
YAY! I am so thankful that this video was helpful for you!
I was blessed to be able to buy a new one this year. I was also gifted one, in a different translation. ❤
That’s so nice! Sometimes I put two next to each other, read a few chapters in one and then the other. I understand and memorize the chapters better this way.
I love this!!
That’s always so fun! I love getting to see and use new Bibles!
I keep moving through different translations, but I’m also learning about the differences between a life application study Bible and a study Bible that has more historical or archeological details. If I’m studying and not just reading, it’s normal that I have several different study bibles and versions out at once. Very good thoughts. Thanks.
Love this! I also love having different types of notes on the passage. Great system!
I LOVE this! I bought Bibles for each of my daughters thinking I would do this, and I really haven't marked in them much yet.
But I want all my notes in one place because if I want to find a particular note don't have to search for it 😊
That’s a great system!
That is actually a good idea! I just got a new Bible but don't want to write in it coz I don't want to "mess it up". I am going to use this tip, especially on different translations.
I often get scared to mess them up too! I usually make a first mark to help me move past that.
I like the idea of getting a new Bible every year. It sounds fun! I think the only thing that keeps me from doing it is that taking notes keeps me really engaged and paying attention, and I don't think I would bother taking notes in a Bible if I'm not going to be using it next year.
You definitely have to find what works for you!
Love it! It can be so fun to have several Bibles for different purposes!
Sounds nice. Bible addiction is a real thing and a legit addiction. 🙋🏼♀️ Do you vlog? If so are you going to do a vlog of your 3 new ones and your new tote? 😊
I loved this 😩😍🥰 thank you for sharing I am the same way I already got mines this week 🥰
Oh yay!! Happy new Bible week! Haha
I quit having a study Bible so I could focus on reading the Bible. I've been reading BSB for about 3 years. I really like it and like that they aren't controlling the use with their copyright.
Oh that’s awesome!! I agree - it’s so nice that they don’t have publishing restrictions on it.
That is my goal for 2025 😊
I totally get that! I have had a Bible buying habit in the past too 🫣 Glad you are finding something to work for you.
I follow the Bible Recap and have read through the Bible in a different translation each time. Getting a new Bible each year helps me get excited to start the plan…it’s like getting new school supplies 😊
Woohoo! Yes! The new Bible feeling is the best!
Those are amazing reasons. Really great idea!
Thank you!!
Great video! The BSB has always intrigued me.
Yes! I am excited to read through it next year. I think it will be a good one.
Thanks for sharing! I get a new bible each year as well.
Woohoo! Good company ☺️
I actually find that when I am reading my bible and see all my notes, it enhances my reading and it gives me a greater insight and understanding of the Word of God. I use bible dictionaries and commentaries to help my understanding. If I used a different bible every year then I'd end up writing similar notes all the time.
That's great that you have found something that works for you!
This was very helpful, thank you!
Oh, good! I am so glad!
I was thinking about doing this as well, love these reasons sis!!! great vid 🤍
Awesome!!
Many great points were made. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!!
Such a good idea! Thank you
You're so welcome. Thank you for watching!!
interesting.
Very good video 📹 thks for sharing this 👏 👍 👌 ❤
Thank you for watching!
I've been thinking of doing this a Bible a year. There are a few other people who do this on UA-cam.
That's awesome!
I haven’t gotten a new Bible EVERY year yet, but do get a new one (in a different version) when the notes seem to overwhelm my reading - usually every two years. I haven’t kept mine. I donate them instead.
That's a great way to do it! I can't believe you donate it!! What if you want to read through the notes again?!
I love Bibles
Me too! What a gift they are!!
It wasn’t until the end of 2023 that I thought about doing a yearly Bible.
I actually keep a majority of my notes in an app called Notion. So they are easy to reference!
Querida amiga , la invito a un curso de la Biblia
An idea: one Bible can be used just for marking it and for notes. The other one can be left empty. But girl, you should do your thing as we are all different. Best.
Love this idea! I have tried it, but honestly marking is so much of a habit for me, it’s hard to stop, haha.
Im using the same bible but using different highlighters each time
That's a great system! Love it!
Why not use a notebook and get a new one each year? Love the idea of having different translations of the Bible though
I take a majority of my notes digitally! I just also like to have a few of the things that stand out to me in my Bible.
Sometimes I wish I would live in America. I live in Belgium. It isn't that easy to find a bible here that leaves place to take notes. And they are expensive and we don't have that many choice in translation. 🤷♀️
I definitely think we take it for granted here in America! Thank you so much for your perspective. We could all learn from that.
I get my Bibles second hand and usually free one of every transaction
What an amazing testimony of God's provision! Thank you for sharing.
$20 for a Bible is 0.05 a day. I think that's doable and a wonderful use of one's money! :)
Oooh, that's a great way to think about it!
Me impressiona norte americanos acharem bíblias caras, comparado aonde eu moro, bíblia aí está de graça. Vocês são privilegiados.
What are the two Bibles from 2020/2021?
They are from Scriptura! www.scriptura.co/
How are you 2025?
Im the opposite, I like my marked up pages. 😂😂
I really like my marked up pages too! I just also love the process of marking them up, so I end up with new ones regularly 😂
Some churches or church groups GIVE AWAY new bibles! You might get to know which one it is, and give some donations to help, sinces printing them is not free.
Yes! I have seen several of those! Great idea.
I’m tryingggg to find the perfect study bible for me but am having no luck. I’ve bought two and I just can’t get attached to them 😢 I want a really good Niv study bible
I’m not super familiar with NIV study Bibles, but I have the Cultural Background Study Bible in NIV and have always liked that one.
@ just looked it up!! Ordering now 🥰
@@ashleynicole6895 Awesome! You will have to let me know what you think!!
I highly recommend the Truth & Grace Bible which is NIV. The study notes are great.
I love the idea of getting a new one each year 🥹🫶🏻
Getting a new Bible is always fun!!
@ it is🥰
What kind of bible is that light brown one ?
That one is an NLT covered by Scriptura. You can find their website here: www.scriptura.co/shop
I love that idea! I have supported illuminations in the past that does this exact thing! illuminations.bible/
Wonderful comparison. And a Bible doesn't have set dates of the year to deal with.
Thank you for the feedback. It's something I have worked on for a while -- and I have gotten better than I used to be, but still LOTS of room to grow.
1 bible, a new notebook every year would be better. Wide margin for notes if you want to write them in the b8ble itself, but you dont need to and I'd say you shouldnt get a new bible every year.
I do new notebooks each year too. And I actually don' t like wide margin Bibles. Not my preference. Thanks for sharing!
