Longest match of my life fr. In the end they surrendered bc I was outing everything with the loan deck.

its fine for it to be a permanent mode, i don't blame people for wanting it
but its 90% the same cards, you get more turns sure but waiting 2 mins for your opponent to set one pass isn't exactly the most fun thing to do
a brand new banlist of regulated cards from this time period would be better, otherwise it would be flip monster burn and trap stun as is most of the opponents from this event
Make legacy packs able to give banned cards if this becomes permanent
This would be huge!
Add an alternate leg pack. You'd be salt as hell if you pull 10 copies of an banned card instead of kraken

Dkayed is the only Yugituber I see covering this event. Thank you for that. It needs more attention so hopefully it becomes a permanent game mode.
There should be a legacy gamemode where they change which Era banlist is used monthly, and give players certain structure decks for each Era

This mode was honestly so much fun. I kept playing even after getting the free pack. The loaner decks were really add you need to have fun. I really hope they do more of these in the future

because what classifies as a "rogue deck" is very broad
there's going to be a tier one in any mode, and to have one was meant to be casual
Im surprised they don't have a tournament feature like rocket league where it hosts one every 3-4 hours
They haven’t even given us a best of 3 mode so it’s not that shocking. Also ultimately it just doesn’t benefit them really. An GOAT mode would be static and therefore not a consistent income.
They should make a second duel pass just for this mode that awards some of the older cards as a reward
I'm one of those people that highly preferred the 5D's era of yugioh compared to GOAT format (I found goat kinda boring it was mostly for nostalgia) but this is still exciting to see konami TRYING something.
Back when Dueling network was still a thing synchro decks were my jam.
Hopefully konami takes SOME inspiration from hearthstone and adds the different ranked ladders for people that wanna try different versions. Feel's like I've been asking them to do that in surveys since the duel links days though lol.
The yugioh classic mode ranked need to be added and pacs too, where you can craft and pull for classic yugioh cards and play with that deck on different ranked than usual, that would bring back so many players to yugioh
I've been having a lot of fun with Insect Barrier and DNA surgery. I haven't summoned Ultimate Great Moth yet though.
If you manage to do so, "My body as a shield" is a great way to counter those pesky Bottomless / Sakuretsu / Raigeki break (Or Royal Decree, but floodgates aren't fun)

This mode literally brought me back to MD! Been playing Edison for years and needed this refresh on contebt
I had fun with this event, I recreated the deck I used to beat the GBA game The Eternal Duelist Soul as a bit of an homage as it was my first exposure to Yu-Gi-Oh and it was a nice blast from the past. Here's to hoping that this isn't the end for this type of dueling in Master Duel cause I can see them making a separate ranking system for this type of thing.

I went with the Horus loaner deck since it was part of the very first pack i ever bought. For me it would be a good mode to go to after climbing the ladder. Much less chance of people scooping after the first turn.
I went with the house loaner also and that was really good
They should keep it in. A lotta fans want different playing modes. Not everyone has the time and skills to learn how to play modern, so this is nice. Can't wait to try out every mode
I have been putting in every survey the suggestion to make a time wizard ladder that resets every month like the normal ladder. Then it rotates which time wizard era every month for diversity. So, for example, first month it could be Goat Format, then followed by Edison, then Tengu Plants, then Dragon Rulers... You can easily have 12 different formats for an year, or pick 4-6 most request ones and rotate them.
If they don't want to give too many gems for this ladder, give some crafting mats and some cool icons, card sleeves or pets from old cards.

They really should make 2004 Duel permanent and it would be even better if there were ranking duels, tournaments, etc., to maintain motivation and excitement.

This took me back to the days I used to play KC Virtual duel system in 2007, I remeber losing my first duel to a Bad Reaction To Simochi burning algae deck
11:39 we need to petition for this to happen!! 2022 I learned a bit of modern yugioh and got into it a tiny bit, but took a break for it for 2 years, come back and what the heck is snake eyes! I need utilize my Harvard degree in yugioh to learn all these new decks again 😭
Only 2 years? It hasn’t progressed too far since then it’s just new stuff. It’s not that much complicated compared to 2 years ago.

They need to keep this! This is what people want more of. The fact they limit these to small events is just insane to me. Not everyone wants to climb ranked and deal with 85 summons on turn one that end with a board of negates.
I played Water Box without any of the busted URs. Umi (A Legendary Ocean) into normal summon Giga Gagagigo goes hard.
I was just playing Kaiba and Joey anime accurate decks and I actually won😂😂😂😂😂crazy stuff. If KoMONEY decides to do this format I might prioritize it over ranked for sure

I made an exodia + Final countdown stall deck for this event, worked surprisingly well tbh, biggest issue I had was the loaner Horus deck that had royal decree...
Ya the trap and spell lockout was annoying but ran cards like penguin soldier,the DD monsters,wall of illusion it's hilarious interaction when Horus lv8 gets banished or simply returned to the hand

As someone who’s never played Yu-Gi-Oh til about 5 months only MD… I always thought why Pot of Greed was banned just a draw 2 can’t be no worse than Maxx C…. No it took 4 duels for me to realize why the cards banned and I’m no longer wanting the debate of it being unbanned.
6:58 Jaden does that in the first seasons of the anime, by removing mirage with emergency provisions.
Dkayed, do a tournament with this ruleset! I'm sure a lot of people would be excited about it!
I honestly forgotten how punishing Horus lockout can be so built one that can break though and turn tides when you get locked out of Spells and traps. But ultimately though i feel Horus lv8 and i believe it was Imperial Order? Should have been not allowed due to unhealthy interactions. Omni spell and Trap negate were a pain to deal with but it was fun regardless to play classic Yu-Gi-Oh for a change.
FYI This uses the OCTOBER 2004 ban list
Hope they do this with Edison Format or early XYZ era or early pendulums with burning abyss,shadoll and nekroz formats.

This event is very fun. Glad if it will be another duel mode.
It's been so long since I've played a format similar to this(and I was playing hot garbage back then), even with cards as old as these there's a lot to learn. There needs to be separate ladders for several of these kinds of historic style formats. I just threw together a rather sloppy oversized Warrior Toolbox set for the time being and used what few old school cards I have around that are still legal for the Event(Change of Heart, Creature Swap, etc.).
What how did I miss this event!? I will redownload master duel right now if this mode is available.
I used what I had laying around to make a stall/burn Lava golem deck.
I think Konami must give us a Full event with the goat format

I used that burn deck swap with wave motion cannon, which a time bomb if your did do something your are super deep trouble. Clown control and burn deck. By the way, this is where armed Samurai Ben Kei come from fyi. But the problem your don not have boardbreaker as a lot of them ban, even worst we have very limited backrow removal just because sakuretsu armor and woboku, which 2 card screw your OTK plan

I'm just glad going second on this event is viable again. Eventhough first turn can draw again it's not an issue. Going second then dropping horus was such a classic move back in the days.
I want to like this event, but i cant afford to craft card for short event, which left me woth either use loaner or use whatever i have in my trunk. The Gadget deck is fine and the most stable, the fusion deck is kind of hard to use because the specific fusion need to be here, and horus deck should be great, but whenever i ss horus lv8 i get hit by tribe infected virus.
I wish I wish ! They make playing style by era : GX era for example , and in starter decks you can choose a deck by anime character ...

If they cycled through some of the most popular retro formats every 2 weeks or something that would be dope. Just want to play Glad beats and destiny hero DaD(couldnt afford it irl). But if it was a permanent mode maybe they could un-errata some cards and revert to some of the older master rules like turn player prio for ignition effects
I think Dkayed coming from Duel Links understands the potential of this mode better than most Master Duel/TCG players. A permanent retro ladder for this game would be huge. There are so many players that love Yu-Gi-Oh but don't play the modern game because it's so hard to get into. Also, just having an older format to play to take a break from the modern game would be great. Imagine how many new players and content creators would try the game if they could play a nostalgic format like Goat.

I think that its cool if instead making any new game they can insert it to master duel as a mini game, like forbidden memories, duelist roses, capsule monster
Tried Dark Necrofear turbo & Monarch + Archfiend of Lightning (Summoned Skull but with maintenance cost & 50/50 target protection)... Feeling the pain of Pandemonium fellas being outclassed by basically anything (Even that Nobleman of Crossout, as some can't be normal summoned), and making some cards shine like Riryoku field
Neat experience, but I rather take my M&M or Tindangles to the ladder

A great idea, I Hope they do the Chaos Cookie Cutter format. I think that's by far the best yugioh format with the best balancing.
Though they should ban Crush Card as Crush Card was a 2,000$ Jump Prize card very few had access to. It would be very boring if every deck had crush card when nobody played it back then.

if we get a 2004 mode then i want a rush mode too. rush has a bunch of cool support for classic decks but its not playable in any official capacity outside of duel links which... nobody plays anymore.
