Cried at the poetic symmetry with the Brachiosaurus... being the first and last full appearance of a living dinosaur on the island, in the whole series... first time full of shock and awe, last time with grim and sorrow... Can't wait for Dominion with the original trio back!
I honestly can’t wait for Jurassic World: Dominion next year!! I read everyone still alive is coming back for it; Grant, Ellie, Maisie, Owen, Claire, Franklin, at least one of her nephews from the first JW. It’s gonna be awesome!
Maisie's nanny is Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of Charlie Chaplin. She costarred in Doctor Zhivago in 1965 (the film won 5 Oscars) and over 100 more films after that, including French and Spanish films. Her father made his first appearance in a film in 1914. In the 1910s and 1920s, he was considered the most famous person on the planet.
Fun fact about one of Charlie Chaplin‘s wifes, Paulette Goddard. After divorcing Chaplin, she married Erich Maria Remarque, the author of „All Quiet on the Western Front“ and they were together until his death.
Specifically Gothic Horror as opposed to the more adventure-horror we've seen in the past. It's set in a big Victorian mansion against an actual monster of humanity's own creation in the vein of werewolves or "Frankenstein's monster"
I believe the Mosasaurus jumping out of the water was a learned behavior because that was the way she was fed at the park, and so she adapted it. That ladder guy could've lived extra years of his life more, minutes from that moment even by just dangling through the open air lol 😂
the fact that Maisie turned out to be a clone is such an interesting plot and it's also very dark since the cloning process is always very delicate and involves many dead "prototypes" until a successful result is reached... I can't even imagine-
I always wondered if that was why the Indoraptor was so focused on her. He had all 3 of them trapped, but as soon as Maisie bolted he went after her, leaving an injured victim (Claire) behind.
There is a fan theory that the indoraptor imprinted on Maise. Wu says it needs a mother and then it keeps reaching out to touch her. Not sure if I buy it but it makes you think.
Blue is a true hero and a beautiful velociraptor to even exist and Mary Cherry just to let you know when I saw the Indoraptor I actually tried calling it Goldie because of the yellow stripe on it's neck.
Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire), daughter of Ron Howard, former kid to young adult actor, as Opie (Andy Griffith Show) to Richie (Happy Days) now well known director, is also a director too. She is following her dad's foot steps in directing. Bryce already directed episodes for Star Wars' The Mandalorian.
32:20 T-Rex: This is my territory now! Lion: Oh yeah? Come and get it I mean we all know the T-Rex will win but the point is, the lion does not back down!
I cried so much in the theatre with this movie.. watching all our dinos we know and love dying to the volcano.. and then the smoke out scene at the end was just gut wrenching
as a preview to Jurassic World Dominion (the third movie) you should watch Battle at Big Rock a short film that takes place after Fallen Kingdom (released on UA-cam) and also Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (a Netflix show)
Wheatley is played by Ted Levine, most famous for playing Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs and also for Captain Stottlemeyer in Monk. Great actor!!
13:16 thank you!! For the movie that wants us to sympathize with the dinosaurs the most (which wouldn't be that hard anyway majority of people care about animals) they really flip flop with the "they're not monsters, they're just animals" The carnivores snapping at everything while their home explodes behind them really irks me as an animal nerd sorry not sorry 😅
JA Bayona has done two movies that you should absolutely watch. The Impossible (which is about the thailand tsunamai in the early 2000s) and A Monster Calls (which is an adaptation of a book of the same name.) they are both beautiful dramas and A Monster Calls needs to be seen by more people.
The part with the lava actually really really bugs me. Lava is molten rock...it is literally thousands of degrees......just being within a few feet of it would burn you......badly. you don't need to be in lava for it to hurt you. If it can almost touch your shoes your clothes are already on fire.
One explanation for why the lava didn’t kill the Baryonyx would be the leidenfrost effect, where the water in it’s skin formed a layer of insulation that absorbed the heat from the lava. It was enough to save the animal from death, but not enough to keep it from getting burned.
We should really give names to the animals. Raptor = Blue, T-Rex = Bob, Brachiosaurus = Stretch, Triceratops = Spike. What do you think? This way, when the t-rex shows up, we can say "Hi Bob! Thanks for saving us again!"
She wouldn’t get in the cage for safe transport, there’s no way she’s letting Owen put a collar and lead on her 😂 Now I’m imagining her on a lead, starts chasing a squirrel, dragging Owen off his feet behind her 🤣
Hey Mary! So glad you got all caught up in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, this last one was GOOD! And I'll be looking forward to the next and last film, Jurassic World: Dominion, same as you. Mary You are correct about next sequel. It is called Jurassic World: Dominion and scheduled to be released on June 10, 2022. This sequel will include both Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler (original Jurassic Park) with Claire and Owen plus of course, Dr. Malcolm. Even greedy Dr. Wu is in this movie. Yeah, they could have exchanged the Indos for real dinosaurs, but that wouldn't encapsulate what they were going for. That no matter what is presented, people always want more. Bigger. Scarier. More teeth. Nature only has so many monsters before we have to create our own. Also, they might not have found mosquitos with the blood of those dinos. Not that that seemed to matter with their water bound Mosasaurus.
Thing is though, everyone was saying either ''save them all'' or ''let them all die'', why did no one say ''save the species that had harmed no one (and Blue) and not the big vicious carnivores''?
Jurassic World:Dominion is streaming on Peacock now a month subscription is like1.99, a years subscription is twenty bucks- it was so good and worth it!
The "underwater dino" is called Mosasaurus and it is actually not a dinosaur but a species of marine reptile which is more related to snakes than to dinosaurs.

Made over $700 million worldwide but had mixed reception from critics
Nostalgia Critic hated it saying it's bringing the worst stuff like treating its audience like they're stupid plus the human characters being idiotic, preachy, and pretentious
The tone being inconsistent and the pacing being off too
Double Toasted hated it particularly when it came to the ending , they chose to believe that did not happen
The Indoraptor is my favorite dinosaur though in this one
It's worth the wait in many respects
The film does feel like a throwback to ‘Lost World’ having the corporate businessmen try to take the reigns
The volcanic eruption is the best set piece in the middle of the movie although it does switch gears to a mansion for the remainder of it
Plus the subplot with Maisie being a clone could’ve been tossed out entirely next to Justice Smith
The humans are still just okay here, they’re not the main concern only to drive the plot forward
But there are certain moments of shades of grey who’s actually at fault here which is refreshing
It’s not always narratively satisfying and the previous film was better in so many regards
Some time back, I came across bloopers from Parks and Recreation. Chris is absolutely hilarious.
Idk why I found it so adore that at 25:46 Blue sniffed the gas and knew to run away. Man she is my favorite Raptor 🌀

I think there was some Giganotosaurus DNA in the Indominous, which could explain the aggressiveness we see in it and the Indoraptor.

I don't think it's the fact the writers thought a hybrid is scarier. The scientists are "playing god" by splicing genes from different species.
