- This Viceland documentary follows the life of Cain Vincent Dyer, a former United Sates Marine, who went from being one of "America's Most Wanted" to dedicating his life to the service of others after a spiritual awakening. In this documentary we learn what drove Cain into a life of crime as well as witnessing his powerful and incredible transformation into a life of service.
Cain Vincent Dyer now mentors ex-felons, those struggling with substance abuse issues, sex abuse, and PTSD. He's also a Certified Lifecoach, Motivational Speaker, and Partner in two Production Companies.
The fact that you initially did this to save a family member from a gang dept and you never physically harmed anyone while robbing says a lot about your character. Glad to see you became a better person out of this journey, thank you for telling us your story.
Robbing isn’t the answer.. It’s a coward’s move. I’m sure u wouldn’t feel this way if he stole from u and your family.
Maybe he should have tried fundraising or sold everything he owned to support his family. Stealing from innocent people isn’t cool. Your nice.. But this fraud doesn’t deserve your support
@@cecil8907 he robbed from corporate banks, not individuals. But trust me I’ve had a share of run in with thugs. I’m with ya on that, prevention is better than a cure I guess.

You can't even lie? Why would you lie? What purpose would it serve? You're not making sense.
@@buyerofsorts u definetly white. the phrase "can't even lie" is used for a variety of circumstances. But in this specific circumstance i used to basically say like yea bro spittin some real shit. I can really relate to your childhood, being the protector of the household from a young age but especially being the oldest child out of 2 son's to a single mum and a dad who's a drug addict who ran out on my family. I'm only 22 broke and I'm thinking about joining the military myself just to get some stability and discipline in my life. Great documentary man, your story is amazing.
This guy is one of the most phenomenal acting talents I've ever seen.
It takes major balls to publicly take responsibility for your actions and hold yourself accountable. Most people make life decisions based on the fear of the consequences, not necessarily having a "good" heart, so it is best not to judge others when you have not walked in their shoes. 💜 Thank you for sharing Cain.
Stevie..... I really appreciate your understanding of my decisions. Lots of people don’t get why I turned myself in but your words summed it up PERFECTLY! Thank You! 🙏🏽

First of all, thank you for your service. Second, it is really awesome how you turned your life around. This is, without a doubt, one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. Despite your past, you are in no way a bad person. And the fact that you turned yourself in even when Patrick had nothing on you.....it takes a real man to do that. I at first watched the video of you breaking down heists in movies but then became curious of how you turned yourself in and turned your life around. Man, I’ve gotta say, this is a very unique, heartbreaking, painful, yet beautiful story of your life. Coming from a religion where I believe in anyone being able to repent of wrongdoings and start over again, this really hit home to me. No matter what, we can always come out on top. Thanks so much for sharing your story and experiences! I’m so happy you’re able to continue fixing mistakes and damages that were caused!Thank you for the inspirational messages, sir! 😁

What an amazing story! Can’t tell you how much I relate to your story! One of my favorite quotes of all time “Character in a man is judged over time, not by a moment” this dude should be a public speaker!
An absolutely crazy story.
I have to say that through the whole video, it was very obvious that despite what you’ve done, you are a good person at your core. You have a big heart.
Good for you for eventually doing the right thing. I wish you success and happiness. You’ve paid your debt, way to man up!
Thank you for sharing your story with the world Cain. It has truly touched my heart, and I'm sure the hearts of many others out there going through the endless struggles of reality.
Yes yes yes! Thank you for seeing my heart! And I’m glad it touched your heart.
This was fascinating and I'm glad it showed up in my feed. For some reason, I knew you were a veteran before you talked about the Marine Corps. I have enduring respect for all the guys in the mechanized infantry unit I was in with, 5 of whom were former 0311 Marines. All of them were effortlessly proficient warriors and never failed to pass along knowledge. Anyway, I'm drawn to any stories about redemption - I think that idea is at the center of our humanity.
This is absolutely incredible.
Criminally underrated documentary
Crazy story Cain! Glad it had the outcome it did.
Amazing story , love your honesty and the way you talk about it ,I think it will be inspirational to many , good you stop in time and got to realization what is right to do because after that breach and SWAT introduction , everything else afar would possible lead to a tragic end but as a former USMC you obviously came to that conclusion yourself . You made the best choice .

This is probably one of the best stories I heard in my life. It's insane what you went through and what you achived. You had to pay someone for the mistakes a other person made?

Inspiring?.. NO!
But people can change and its nice that this man is leading a better life now. But he doesn’t deserve any special credit. Their are TRUE HEROS out there that have done good there entire lives and don’t receive or ask for any kind of credit.
This shit head wants u to pat him on the back cause he “Turned his life around” but really he’s still just making money off of all u easily manipulated fools.

Love this guy's story and how he is constantly looking in the mirror about how 'not right this is' but at the same time being the 'alpha daddy' provider. Man enough to share himself to the world. He could have been anyone of us including myself. Cheers man.
Thank you for sharing your story. I was a Protestant minister for 25 years; left the ministry about 8 years ago, and since that time, I have never felt that I am doing anything that really matters (long story). I think we all face a void inside of us at some point. Not much has really moved me until I watched this (this randomly showed up on my feed). I have nothing profound to share; just wanted to be vulnerable and thank you for sharing.
Steve ...... thank you so much!!!!!
I definitely know what it’s like to ‘feel’ that void. I also know how important it is to ‘fill’ that void with PURPOSE!
I’d love to hear your story bro!
There are people out there that have never committed a crime yet, they still have issues that seem unbearable or dark and often they can’t find contentment and meaning... it can happen to us all...
I’m certain that your experiences can definitely help others and save lives...
You never know who’s suffering... which is why I’m always trying to tell my story.. in hopes it’ll spark something in someone else! And you definitely have something good to offer people... minister or not .. you’re still a HEALER BRO! Keep using your story and gifts!
Have you thought about robbing banks?
Jesus can fill every void and emptiness in us (John 6:53). Embrace Him.
I was just speaking to some friends about why most bank robberies occur. Desperation. An inspirational story that needs to be told. I salute you for your courage man. I wonder if you ever met and found out who that older lady was?
Cain.... Im so proud of you Fam!!
My dad also went ghost after my mom got preggers. I also wanted to be a better dad and family than the one I didn’t have. I grew up in east San Jose - tough hood - I’ve had many ups and downs in life and you sir are an inspiration - thank you for sharing your story for others to learn & be inspired by. You rock!
I know your struggle man and I am going through it myself. I'm sure I'll pull though but it's stories like yours that help keep my spirits up.
Good luck man, hope it all works out in the end
William...... hello brother!!!!
I know how HARD it can be when you don’t have a lot of choices and resources. We can tend to think that things will never get better. And things can seem very dark and hopeless.... But I can HONESTLY say that YOU CAN transform things.
Bro go to my Instagram or FB messenger and send me your info and I’ll reach back out to you.
I also know how important it is to have a positive support system.
And I will absolutely share with you some of the tools I learned that helped me transform my Life!
Most people stay stuck because they’re afraid to face the consequences of their actions.. even in NON-CRIMINAL SITUATIONS. Transforming can be WORK ... but Becoming who you’re meant to be is WORTH it!!!!! I would deal with all the consequences again for the beautiful life that I have now bro! And there’s nothing more gratifying than living a life with Purpose and being able to help others! It’s better than any drug or any amount of money bro! When we HEAL OURSELVES we show others what’s possible... so typically when YOU TRANSFORM so does Your situation and environment.
Keep your head up bro! Let’s talk!
How ya doing bro?
Your story is very inspirational. It’s amazing that you strive to help society, share your story, and even communicate with people through this platform. What a story, I love the many lessons you strive to share with others.
Thank you Anthony!
“Inspirational” is the last word I would use lmao.
Try the words HURTFUL and COWARDLY instead.. Seems more appropriate
This guy reminds me so much of one of my friends. In looks and character.
Man I'm struggling Cain. I hope I can turn my life around like you have. I see alot of my pain in your story just different causes. I hope to make it to the other side of all this. Thank you for sharing.
DAVID!!!!!! How ya doin today brother???
Sounds like you’re kinda having a rough time... I can definitely relate to those types of days!!!!!
And on the real...I’ve never found a way to avoid ‘all’ of the ‘dark days’...I mean I’ve developed habits and traits that typically guide me away from “dark days”... but due to being human...lol... I run into them from time to time... there’s never a magic wand that’s waved that gets me through.... it’s more like a handful of positive things that feed my soul and spirit that I make certain to do more of during those days. You gotta find what positively feeds your heart and spirit! And what truly feeds our hearts and souls typically NEVER involves what SOCIETY tells us it is... so make sure that you’re not measuring yourself by societies standards. We all have so many untapped gifts within us to give this world bro! I really do believe that everyone has the ability and capability to do good things ... for themselves and for others... we just gotta remember not to let our value be determined by society standards... Stay true to Purpose... and your true purpose will always be in alignment with Self Love and the Betterment of All Life!

I'm glad you have turned things around, but you made my mother urinate all over herself and the PTSD she had from her experience with you led her to a really dark time. She overdosed Dec 27th 2012. Thanks. I have struggled my entire life, in fact right now I am having to start over and I'm staying in a homeless shelter, I have to humble myself and hold a sign for 50 dollars a day, but robbing someone, a store, or a bank is not even close to an option. I would rather be poor than hurt someone and terrify an innocent person just because I'm struggling, and because I haven't been able to earn enough money in my life.
I hope your luck turns around

You should really look up the definition of the word BEST lol.
I would use the word MANIPULATIVE
Great story. Glad to see you turned out the way you did. Might I ask, who initially called the police on you as an informant?
It was a friend that I considered super close to me. He had gotten into some trouble of his own and gave the feds my name in return for a lighter sentence ... (I didn’t know this immediately at the time). Yet the Feds couldn’t use ANY of the information he had given them because they still didn’t have any actual evidence so they could not arrest me and by the time he had given my name I was no longer robbing banks. And had they tried to prosecute me they definitely would have loss... the agent actually admits in the documentary that they had no grounds to arrest me even with knowing WHO I was......but ..... I was ready to come clean and transform my life... so after months of consideration I decided that I was gonna take accountability and face it.. best decision I’ve ever made! As far as my former friend goes... (I don’t personally believe in telling on someone for personal gain) but.. I don’t hold it against him. The same way I hope people don’t judge me for my past, I try not to judge him ..but... He made a decision that he has to live with... that’s between him and his god... I harbor NO ILL FEELINGS TOWARDS HIM.
I forgive him!
My actions put me where I AM and where I WAS...not him.
So I am responsible for my past and my future...
with that said... I HOPE he has also transformed his life... that would be cool... but I actually think he’s since been back and forth to jail numerous times.. I wish him the best🙏🏽
@@cainvincentdyer5891Dude…I come back to your story from time to time when I venture off the right path into questionable. War sent me here from On The Lock Out. This got so deep so fast...
Great ending and way to stand up and be accountable. FYI I have a friend that went to federal prison for bank robbery & these days if you even mention that you have a gun or even write it down the feds treat it the same as having a real one and will hit you with the mandatory minimum sentence. Back in this time period they didn’t have that law. Robbery isn’t worth the penalty no matter how little or much you bring in

Intriguing story. The relative silence about your time in the army leaves me wondering though, was it so inconsequential that it only left you with a skill set and a taste for adrenaline? Why did you join, and why did you leave?
