Its a baby analogue pocket in design with some rgb. It really does look like a sleek device. I see a lot of reviews for the black one, which does look nice and clean. I am more interested in the white and red one and would love to see a video of either.
Thank you for the test. I completely thought the device was bigger. I imagined it to be somewhere in the size of the analogue pocket based on the advertisements. You helped me a lot, you saved me from an unnecessary purchase.
I hadn’t done any research in this but for some reason all the images made me think it was just he size of the RG40XX V. Much happier with the smaller size.
this is the most beautiful budget handheld ever. i thought the miyoo mini plus in purple was beautiful. looking at this mode;.. oh my its so sleek. i wanna get it for looks alone
So for those wondering about the white model or the experience with using crossmix OS, Im very impressed with this device so far. Im running crossmix os, its the surwish card that litnxt offers. While nowhere near as nice as onion os, it is decent. The selection for the library is great, they include plenty pico 8 games, all perfectly optimised for the aspect ratio, as well as offering a fair amount of portmaster games. The black model looks more sleek for sure, after having both and being someone who prefers white devices, i was surprised i perferred the black. Definitely came down to the buttons all being grey instead of white to match the shell, and the backplate being silver instead of painted white really take away from the design. All white would make it way nicer, a good example of this is the white rg40xxv. In terms of actual build quality, size, screen, look, buttons, weight, and power, I think it blows the miyoo mini and mini plus out of the water. I also prefer it to all of the H700 chip devices as an EDC. I only really have two things that disappoint me. The backplate, despite adding nice weight and stability ends up acting as a heatsink and can get quiet warm, and as of right now, at least with crossmix, the options for rgb are limited. You can either have it indictate things like battery level or cpu mode, ambilight which changes based on the screen, rainbow, which cycles through colours but strangely only the rgb on the buttons for this mode change, not the lights on the top or front. You also have default mode which will change colour based on the system youre playing which is at this point my best mode, other than leaving it off completely. Having static colour selection might convince me to have the lights on more. I should also add that the plastic on both colours is not prone to smudging which is nice, battery is also really decent, and the function keys are also really handy. All in all i think its a great device especially for the price, and its replaced my miyoos. I also think its only gonna get better with time just like we saw in the trimui smart pro as it gained such a huge fanbase.
I ordered one during the 11.11 sale, I didn’t expect it to come so quickly but it showed up a day after the MM+ I ordered to tinker with / mod so now I have two new things to play with lol.
Adjustable back buttons means you can make them different height meaning easier to press the L/R2 without hitting L/R1. I don't see myself buying another trim unless it's either a flip version or competes with retroid 5 power wise
These seem cool, but does anyone else feel like these handheld aren't evolving? I remember when the retroid pocket 2 first dropped and everyone thought "one day we will get great gamecube and ps2 for 100$ or less" feels like everyone is just kinda hitting the same games at the same price area. Am i wrong?
I think naturally things are not as revolutionary as the days of the Retroid Pocket 2. We now have the Retroid Pocket Mini which is expensive but plays alot of games. Slowly that will get cheaper. But if you recall the old Anbernic RG300 vertical handheld could barely play SNES, let alone PSP.
@@adinwalls true but I'd argue theres thing around the price point of the rg300 now(40$)that trump it and we don't seem to be getting that anymore. I'm also near 40, so I'm used to tech actually going down in price after awhile and that's not really happening the way it once did
I previously bought the Trimui Smart Pro and the clock was wonky, it was hard to set the region, and it refused to stick to the time I set it (would keep auto-jumping ahead by 6h). And the clock would stop when i power off the device and only resume from where it left off when I power back on. Do you notice this issue with the Trimui Brick?
This looks like it could replace my MM+. It’s got a sharper screen, better build quality, and powerful enough to upscale PS1 games so I am extremely excited. That was my one grip with the MM+ is that it feels like very cheap plastic. I will probably just order this with the crossmix card already installed. Can’t wait! The white one is calling my name.
3.2" screen... Sized in between the original 2.8" *Miyoo Mini* and the 3.5" *Miyoo Mini Plus* This could become a best seller! Hope they have a decent firmware, _Onion OS_ means I still reach for either sized Miyoo over bigger better devices.
Been looking to buy the Anbernic RG40XX V since it's release and a random search your channel popped up. Glad it dit! :) Does litnxt free shipping send it off to the post office? Or courier to your doorstep? Silly question im sure but just trying to decide between an amazon order or litnxt.
I think the only handheld that came close to dethrone miyoo mini plus was the original rg35xx with garlic os. Others couldn't get that close, even Miyoo themselves. Sure it's more powerful. But how many actually would play something above ps1 on 3.2 inches? Well, I would. But most will probably play up to gba 👀
Haha, it's the exact opposite for me. The dome switches are what makes this device really interesting to me. Still trying to decide between this and the Retroid Pocket 5. Probably going for the latter, since my 40 year old eyes need the bigger screen.
I don't see the brick as something that would dethrone the mm+ especially considering you can get a mini + for so much cheaper when not buying it on one of these drop shippers. Litnxt and these other drop shippers shouldn't be charging that much for a miyoo mini plus anymore. You can pick one up now for 40ish usd so at that price it's not worth the upgrade to a trimui brick for me personally.
Just to clarify, LITNXT are not drop shippers. They purchase stock and resell. What's great about them is that they try to add as much value as possible. Their shipping is also good. But yes, they can't offer those great AlExpress deals.
I know this isn’t really about this video, but do you think the rp5 is worth getting? I want to get my first powerful handheld and was thinking of ordering an rp5 in the GameCube color way. I know the rp4 is still quite good but I like the looks of the rp5 and its screen is much nicer. Trying to decide before December so it’ll hopefully arrive by Christmas
If you like the RP5 colour and you're happy with the extra cost, go for it. I have been playing it extensively and the button layout that we are all debating hasn't been an issue and I have been streaming from my Steamdeck
Nice device! One curiosity, is the second USB c port usable at all in that tight space (I don't really know if any dongle of slightly larger connector would fit ...) and in case it is, what you actually use it for, without a video out?
Miyoo Mini Plus was my first retro handheld and the reason why I have ten more now, but I'd trade my MM+ for the Brick in a heart bit. As an Analogue Pocket owner this really speaks to me. Yet I'll probably never going to buy this because I already have MM+. The next two HH I plan on buying are MagicX zero28 and Miyoo Flip.
Doe anyone understand the function of the type c port between the shoulder switches? Via MechDIY, (top type-C, USB host, can be plugged into USB handle) Does that mean you can use the brick as an controller for another device? Or you can plug in a controller for playing local 2 player? I'm a little confused.
Mine came with no sd card, its a pain in the a$$ to get roms there, if you dont have the base stock files, cant download them for now. But the good thing you can do, if your device came with no sd card, you can install minui, and works.
Oh interesting. If you simply start the device up with a blank SD card does it not set it up for you. If not, my recommendation would be one of these preset cards from LITNXT or one of the other resellers.
that "KK3" controller is the Gulikit King Kong 3. Gulikit makes the really nice hall effect stick replacements for the steam deck and nintendo switch. I have the King kong 2 and KK3 pro, and the 3 pro has kinda rough triggers (they can be switched between analog and digital and in analog mod are really creaky and cheap feeling) and feels slightly weird in the hand with the plastic texture, but the KK2 has glass smooth triggers and glass smooth sticks weighted just right. If you can get your hands on one, absolutely do try the new Gamesir Tarantula Pro. It's an utterly amazing controller - it has sticks even more precise than hall effect - using TMR sensors - a really cool looking stand, buttery smooth triggers that can be switched between digital and analog, and a partypiece of a little motor that rotates and recolors the ABXY letters between nintendo and xbox layouts under the clear buttons. And I generally prefer the stick layout of the both sticks low.
Ive fallen in love with the flydigi vader 4 pro controller myself :) Very good build quality, 1000Hz polling rate wirelessly just like the Tarantula. Has a button layout similar to the Duke. Im definitely gonna try out the Tarantula though, looks sick
Hey there. I haven't tested this but generally with these Linux music players you can't turn the screen off while the music is playing. But it isn't touch screen so you don't have the same risk of accidental screen presses.
THANK YOU FOR TESTING USB C TO USB C. No one else has and it's a big pro for my Miyoo Mini V4. Bless you
Glad I could help
Agreed! I avoid anbernic devices entirely for this very reason
Man it’s really nice looking, like a mix of the Analog pocket and the Miyoo plus.
Its a baby analogue pocket in design with some rgb. It really does look like a sleek device. I see a lot of reviews for the black one, which does look nice and clean. I am more interested in the white and red one and would love to see a video of either.
Thanks also for the Bluetooth audio test! I would imagine latency would be fixed with future custom firmware. For me that makes it a Miyoo slayer.
Thank you for the test. I completely thought the device was bigger. I imagined it to be somewhere in the size of the analogue pocket based on the advertisements. You helped me a lot, you saved me from an unnecessary purchase.
That screen protector bubble would bug the hell out of me 😂
It's bugging me!
I hadn’t done any research in this but for some reason all the images made me think it was just he size of the RG40XX V. Much happier with the smaller size.
Me too. I was pleased to see it's an RG35XX plus, Miyoo mini Plus contender
Yeah I was definitely surprised when I saw the size too. Looks slick tho!
As soon as they announced it and showed that it had a 3.2 inch screen I kind of already knew it was going to be small.
If you like to play squinty eyed on 3.2 i guess it's fine.
You're brain is weird
this is the most beautiful budget handheld ever. i thought the miyoo mini plus in purple was beautiful. looking at this mode;.. oh my its so sleek. i wanna get it for looks alone
Ah cool. I'm glad you like it so much
I think you are the first to review this, thank you. Looks nice
I really like the way it looks! The fail for me is no hdmi out. Nothing in pocket factor c9npares right now to the rg35xx line of handhelds.

I really hope trimui comes out with a 4inch screen version of this (from a rg40xx v owner)😂
Just ordered mine ,got it for 51 dollars after a discount, now i am a man of 9 handhelds
Please retest Bluetooth audio when you get the Crossmix OS.
3.2 inches? What is this, a handheld for ants?!?!

We need more Zoolander quotes
It was just a freak gasoline fight accident!
I absolutely adore you. I can feel your love for the craft of all of this. I like how you are as unbiased as possible. Keep it real man.
Aw thank you!
Oh no... this time there's no intro with stylish Aldin walking with his hoodie and retro vibes on the background
Sorry 😟
I ordered one during the 11.11 sale, I didn’t expect it to come so quickly but it showed up a day after the MM+ I ordered to tinker with / mod so now I have two new things to play with lol.
Enjoy playing
@ I will! Though I definitely love setting them up more than actually playing them 😅
Haha same
Adjustable back buttons means you can make them different height meaning easier to press the L/R2 without hitting L/R1. I don't see myself buying another trim unless it's either a flip version or competes with retroid 5 power wise
"3.5inches is too small"
Me, playing on my 2.8inch micro handheld: 👀
Hehe yes. I must admit I'm not completely committed to my statement I made there

it looks very sleek and clean
Yes the design is great

Should have display out through the USB-C between the shoulder buttons
It doesn't though
Games on the stock OS had micro stutters on the Miyoo Mini Plus as well

This is Amazing Retro Handheld, 1 of The Best in 2024 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Yes I immediately regretted requesting the black 😆
@@adinwalls😂
Does the Brick have an RTC (real-time clock)? Could you test this with some pokemon games if they keep track of the time? (with WiFi turned off)
I can't even look at anything smaller than a 4" screen anymore after upgrading to the 40XXV.
3.2" screen...

Hey Litnxt use Buffalo shipping which couriers it to your door.

Wow
Fantastic review! The Gameboy form factor will always be a favorite of mine. Can't wait to try it.
Thanks Kei!
without crossmixOS thats a pass for me!!
with crossmixOS im going to buy that thing - really in love with the display!!
Ya for some reason Trimui haven't fixed their weird RetroArch quirks. It's quite irritating.
Something about the simplicity of just calling it a 'Brick' makes me chuckle.
😂
I think you failed to mention the screen resolution. That screen has 400ppi, which rivals flagship smartphones.
I spoke about the screen
Looks beautiful. too bad for the dome switches on the buttons and dpad, that kills it for me.
Haha, it's the exact opposite for me. The dome switches are what makes this device really interesting to me. Still trying to decide between this and the Retroid Pocket 5. Probably going for the latter, since my 40 year old eyes need the bigger screen.

Is it so uncomfortable to hold as the miyoo mini plus?
It's less ergonomic if that's what you're asking

Not yet
Can Crossmix be done on our own? Or is the Surwish SD card necessary for Crossmix OS to be worth it?
No you can set Crossmix up yourself
Awesome video! Looking forward to the comparison of Surwish CrossMix OS!😉
Yes! Looking forward to it too. I think Surwish/Crossmix will be perfect with this.

So the Miyoo mini plus still reigns supreme
What is top 3 vertical retro handheld under $100?
Hey. RG40XX V (not sure if it's under 100), Miyoo Mini Plus, Powkiddy RGB20SX
