Question, is there a recommended length for the drop bar area to be flat, for the grips to go on without leaving an opening where the curve begins. Hoping that makes sense. There's a decent size opening on mine when i put the grip on at the recommended 45 degree angle... wondering if the bar tape would fill it out or not. I like my bars and don't want to buy new if I don't have to.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I think I know what you’re asking, and yes you should be fine. You’re able to trip the flat bar portion of the grips as needed so you don’t need a whole lot of flat real estate.

How do you like the 2X version? Been debating for a week or so on the 1X or Eagle version but I keep coming back to the 2X overall. I'd like to put a dropper post on it, so maybe i'll add these handle bar grips while i'm at it.

Hey Mike! I like the 2x a lot. But full disclaimer I’ve never owned a 1x. So I can’t speak too much on it.
I’ve always been too scared to loose my granny gears. I rely on them too much when climbing on trips where I’ve over-packed 🤣
