Hi Patrick&Mary, I just heard about your videos and binged watched the past few nights. So incredibly sad then to see the most current situation. Thinking of you and hope all is well. Stay positive! Virginia
I'm a heart attack survivor. A bypass receiver. As well as a pacemaker/defibrillator host. 19 years. I know what he's going through. I know what he's feeling. I know everyone here has the best intentions but let me tell you a few things. There are things that someone in this situation wants to hear and things they don't. They don't want to hear your advice on their diet, supplements they should take , lecturing on what they could have done to prevent it, They most certainly don't want to hear death stories about people you know that matched some of his symptoms. What they do want to hear is that they aren't alone, that you send love and support, that you are waiting and watching for word and that you will be there when they recover and feel better. Please let's send them all of the latter that we can and hold off on the former. Most things people think they know about these medical conditions are pretty vague and unproven anyway. We all know about love and that's what we all have to give. Love to Patrick and Mary.
Your videos have helped me stay sober and positive these past months.. Kinda like listening to a supportive dad I never had.. Wishing you all the best. From Perth, Australia :)
I certainly will pray for him and the family. I understand that it’s a “ normal “ procedure these days. With any procedure there is worry. All the best. 💯
I had a heart attack way back in 2006 and needed to have a triple heart bypass. It saved my life. Before that I was bedbound and just felt so terribly, terribly ill. That was 18 years ago now and it saved my life. I'm now 74 and go walking most days. Nothing to strenuous. I just go at my own pace and try to eat a healthy diet. No alcohol, no cigarettes. Plus I drink plenty of water. I will pray for you Patrick and Mary. God bless you both.
Mary - I wish you both well. I started watching your videos a short time ago and was intrigued with Patricks story of sobriety. I am 67 and will be sober 2 years in February. I can relate to his story. I, too ,have an amazing, supportive wife who put up with my drinking for a long time. I’m so blessed to still have her. I will pray for you both to get through this. Life is better sober. 😊
I'm so glad Patrick doing something. I lost my best friend after the doctor told him he had indigestion. Yeah, pathetic. His wife spent her last few years with tremendous guilt because she didn't make him go to the emergency room just minutes away. His symptoms included heavy chest, some shortness of breath and tiredness. He had a long history of high blood pressure but the doc just gave him antacids and sent him home to die.
I'm praying for you both ! It's so scary going through this I know because I have been there myself ! Lots of people are behind you and praying for the best results .
being in denial and not listening to doctors is not good for your health.....my Dad was like this and refused to have the surgery the doctors recommended for his prostate cancer and decided instead to go the holistic approach with tomato juice (which he read somewhere will cure prostate cancer)....6 months later he was dead
Praying for Patrick to recover quickly after his procedure. BTW Crestor is a statin with least side effects as it is water-based and not oil based. May God bless and protect this lovely couple. ❤️🇨🇦🙏
Young people need to spend more time listening to wisdom like this. You guys can impact so many people in the younger generations. We desperately need pages like yours. Despite the age gap I relate to you so much Patrick. I have substance use problems that I battle and will defeat but I also need to give myself to the world because I can make it better. I don’t use social media but just like drinking people waste away glued to it. It’s the biggest and most unrealized addiction to come into our world since nicotine and alcohol. Drugs are the old addiction and TikTok is the new addiction. They both cause death, struggle and or a life that never reaches its best. Addiction is one of the most harmful societal behaviors in terms of the economy and society. We attack cancer but we should also be attacking addiction in the same way…
this sucks and Patrick just not afraid and i wish i had his balls cause i am such a weak person when it comes to health issues , hope all went well and pray for you all he is ok .
Don’t mess with this. An LAD coronary heart attack a/k/a the widow maker will more than likely kill you. Survival rate is 6% or less. I had such a heart attack a few months ago and by the grace of God, my wife, the police a helicopter pilot and my doctor I survived. Get the stent. Take the meds. Don’t wait!
Another thing, get a stent as soon as you can and get a second opinion if you can or if some doc says you need open heart surgery "right now." Realize some doctors want to do that surgery bc it's hundreds of thousands of dollars for the hospital (800?) but you can go a long way with a stent in many cases. Not all, but I would start w a stent and progress w weight loss. You got this!
You'll be ok and as recovering Alcoholics we have to surrender completely to life and align with the Almighty for a stress free lifestyle and simply trust ... Much Love ❤
Stents are very easy and successful but also look into exercises to lower blood pressure, like wall sits, quad stretches, and diet, I like intermittent fasting to lose weight, just give up a meal and eat in a window from 12 noon to 7 pm every day or whatever window you prefer. Weight loss is key. I am very optimistic as I know a number of close friends and family who got stents my uncle for example who passed at 87 and had a heart issue for 40 years. This is manageable!
A dear friend of mine had a stent implanted in his LAD and did very well for a couple of years. He was an athlete his entire life and only ate healthy diets so it was deemed hereditary. He soon started vigorous exercise (running and biking) again with his doctor's approval and was looking good. Then suddenly one day while out for a run, he experienced a fatal heart attack, presumably caused by a dislodged clot formed on the stent. The moral of the story, I think, is this...the stent will restore flow to that artery, however extra care is needed for the remainder of your life and vigorous exercise should be approached with extreme caution.
Best of luck withe the procedure! If I was Patrick I would be on a statin as well blood pressure medications. Eat a low carbohydrate Mediterranean type diet. Continue to exercise daily. Hopefully he'll change his stubborn ways or he may not be lucky enough to find the problem in time in the future. I am in the fortunate position of being a physician and also someone who thinks outside of the box. I have strategically curated a health program for myself and wife using the best of both modern medicine as well as diet and traditional methods for improving health. The result is that we are both off all medications and have low blood pressure, good cholesterol profiles. That being said, we use prescription medications at times as well when needed. High blood pressure is the single biggest risk factor other than diabetes for stroke and heart disease.
Jeez, talk about warning bells and alarms! Like on Star Trek : Red alert! Red alert! I’ve known dozens of people with stents. Living on for decades… “The cemeteries of the world are full of holistic believers.” -- by me.
Can u tell him I can help naturally. I have inherited bad pipes to, blood pressure high cholesterol and I'm suspectable to dieing of a stroke. I changed all that by eating certain way and exercising. It was the food that was killing me. Let him know if he really is serious about changing his body 👁️👁️
Listen to me please....to hell with holistic treatment, you MUST go to get immediate medical care. Dont be a fool, heart patients drop dead all the time. Go....
He's going through the procedure as this video was posted. We'll pray for you both.
They have him back X-ray, bloodwork- they will be calling me back soon, to wait with him until his procedure. Thank you all for thoughts and prayers😊
Prayers sent.. stressful situation .. the holistic effort was good.. but sometimes medical intervention needed.
Prayers for you both!
@@MaryONeil-ks5meThanks for the update, Mary.. ❤️🇨🇦🙏

What about more of a plantbased diet? Dr. Esselstyn reversed heart disease and reversed blockages by eating whole food plantbased. Worth a try.

I think you should follow doctors instrutions. What ever medicine you need, just take it.

Please consider opening a gofundme account so we can help you out with medical bills - or provide a Venmo account so those who want to help can do so.
God bless.
Hang there Patrick and Mary- sending prayers from Canada 🙏

Waiting for an update ❤️
Will let you know soon!
Update us please.
My mom went off her statin and bp medication. Now she is dealing with dementia. I did not know untreated bp can lead to dementia.
I think the Statins cause the dementia
