    That was a fun video. I been playing (and watching Star Trek) for a long, long time. None of my teachers suggested 4,5,6 down for a lick like that. Will try it tomorrow. Thanks. 🖖🏼

    I know you do Mouthpiece reviews. I promise you, you will love Syos Mouthpieces. And the French Manufacturers claim that they are safe material. I use the Scott Paddock Tenor 7*. I like a bit brighter responses. You might like the Chad LB version for a more grounded "middle of the road" vibe. The altissimo is so easy to sustain with it. I'm buying another for my alto. I'm no longer. Fighting the sax.

    Great lick. I noticed you used the bebop articulation for it but I’ve never been able to articulate alitissimo notes. I don’t know why but I always have to breath attack them.

    • @Sirvalorsax
      @Sirvalorsax  4 роки тому

      It may be because of an embouchure that is too tight. The articulation may cause enough of a disturbance to interrupt the airflow.

    Never understood the appeal of high pitched squealing as "music". A while back I got some sheet "music" for my clarinet, and many of the "songs", the lowest note was a high B. Not only doesn't sound good, but what's the point in having a thousand dollar clarinet when all the music can be played with a 12$ whistle or recorder? But, you don't become a famous conductor by writing good music, but by writing music no-one can play, and you don't became a famous player by playing music that sounds good, but by playing stuff that no-one else can. Just watched a competition for clarinet players, the first place gent, played a piece that was absolutely horrifying and painful to listen to, probably or of a 50's horror movie, the things he did to that clarinet,the sounds that came out of it, he probably had to throw it away after the show, it's atoms so scrambled it would probably never resonate properly again

      I like your take on the subject. I always feel like ''good'' jazz is a competition of who moves the fastest up and down his horn.
