Great video on the repairs on this Toro. That oil was really dirty indeed and that belt wow it was toast . I agree on a better drain plug for that engine.

I found one of these little Toros in the trash a few years ago. I just had a gummed up carburetor. I typically just use it as a backup or if there's not quite enough snow for two-stage machines.

Nice fix on that unit Ken. Scorched right through that original belt. Seems to happen a lot on riding mowers as well. Get the deck packed and just burns them up. I’m sure that machine appreciates the oil change as well.

just got one today and heard a part rattling, took off the side cover and an extra bolt fell out, also the belt was routed BELOW that center metal tab that says "belt here" , if I left it like that it would have tore up the belt.........someone goofed at the factory that day !

    • @KensSmallEngineRepair

Many people will not realize the belt goes OVER that brake tab because they usually find a broken belt just laying under the cover. Thanks for watching

Great video as I was donated a PC180 from the neighbor. Doing my first paddle n scrapper change ever. Might as well do the oil too. Don't know if he ever did that or not.
Quick question. 5w30 hunh? Can I use car oil or do you need special Toro bs oil?? TIA

    • @KensSmallEngineRepair

I use Kawasaki semi synthetic because it’s readily available from my dealer but any name brand multi-grade 5w or 10w-30 will work fine. Thanks for watching!
