    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Easy fix, so no wonder I got tons of people calling to want take it off my hand. These Toro are great but I failed to drained the fuel from the bottom of the carburetor so this year it won't start. Welp I got as far as taking the primer tube off of the carb but it will not budge and I'm too afraid of ripping it. I may need a better pair of needle noses I guess. Also I stupidly unscrewed the screw that goes diagonally into the bottom of the carb and some what appeared like blue fluid came out? Was pretty smelly, like chemically. Not sure what that is but

    • @timp.2622
      @timp.2622 8 місяців тому

      Good news. I was able to get the fuel line and primer line off finally. Just had to use a little elbow grease. The main jet was pretty well gummed up so cleared that out real good and sprayed down the rest. Next weekend I'll reassemble and see what I got!

      Well miraculously I got it back in. Not sure how but whewwww that's a pain. Got the fuel line and primer lines back on, tightened everything back up. Got a fuel drip somewhere but she fired up! However, it won't stay running with the choke off 😢😢 Welp atleast I know how to replace the carb I guess!

      we use just a regular 1/4" ID fuel line and shut off. Something like this amzn.to/3GqT89F but this one does not look very high quality. 3/16 ID fuel line and shut off would work just as well for this one but 1/4" is what most of the lines on snowblowers are and line on these can be stretched substantially

    • @IndRepair

    do you make any adjustment to what looks like a throttle stop screw for speed

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  6 місяців тому

      Normally we do not adjust this at all. Snowblowers run on full rpm all the time and this low RPM stop does not make any difference in something that is only ran on full RPM. If the throttle can be adjusted, screw in the adjustment screw until the desired low RPM is met when on slow

    I have an older Briggs Straton 2 cycle 3650 that is 15 years old now. It used to start on the first pull even after setting 5 months but now it will not start. I am 79 years old and my mechanical skills aren’t what the used to be. Do you know if the carburetors on Amazon are worth purchasing or should I take it somewhere to have done what you did? Or should I purchase a new one? In my area to do what you did will cost me about $125.00. For that I could put to a new one this is why I was wondering if Amazon carbs are worth purchasing. I realize most likely yo don’t like to say but I only need some guidance regardless I would never hold anything against you it’s just an opinion you would be giving. Thank You so much Sir

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  Рік тому

      Hey there! Sometimes tou can get away with an Amazon carburetor but you have to make sure to clean it well. Many of them come with metal shavings in the float bowl among other things. Take apart, clean and inspect if you are going to use them for sure! Also test needle/seat for sealing

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  6 місяців тому +1

      I have used them and they work. That being said, both the OEM and aftermarket carburetors are not going to be good quality. I would check the float bowl before installing either because of poor quality control. I will not tell you spending the additional money is going to get you anything more than the aftermarket will. Again, the quality on either of these carburetors is subpar in my opinion. It is the worst carburetor design we work on regularly. Thanks for watching!
