  • Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
    I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
    Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
    Have fun watching the video!

Man, I remember setting up an old loom in an art class for the first time when I was in junior highschool. 2 hours a day and it took me about a week. It was about 3 times as wide, so lots of threads. No one knew how the thing worked but it was pretty easy to figure it out. Once you get the first couple strings in place, it's just repeat another 300 times or so. But eventually I ended up being able to make it work and made a blanket with it.

Very good. I am happy to see you are doing well, and that you have mage a midevil loom to make fabric with. Hopefully this loom will make you enough fabric to make clothing. I know that it needs a really small thread to make finer cloth, but you will have to experiment with various size threads to figure out what works best for the type of cloth you need.

"A house so simple and filled with so many memories." You aren't kidding. I ended up looking through your early videos and I was shocked to realize how much you have done over the years. You do it bit by bit, and it has added up to so much.
I am very sorry that the mother board has disappeared. If she was taken by the leopard, I hope it moves on and does not become a problem for your farm.
I noticed some of the gourds in your house may be rotting. You should check on them and maybe make a hanging shelf to keep them dry. If some have started to rot, I guess they're boar food!
Watching you make, build, and set up your loom just makes it so obvious how much more expensive clothing used to be. Making thread and weaving cloth for even a small village would be a person's full-time job. The treadle loom you built is a fairly modern invention as well. Your channel is an education. I can't wait to see what you make with your cloth!

19:06 This is called the "beater" in english, because you beat the threads into the fabric to make them tight. The ones with the looped strings are called the "heddles". --- 27:32 It is best to use some thin bamboo or paper rolled onto the spool with the threads to keep the threads separated from the previous layer so they do not get tangled. It also makes it easier to get them on.

I would suggest you to replant some trees simultaneously as a compensation for your actions so that the future generations can use them and can have minimal impact on the nature and the climate. You should at least replant 10 for each one you cut down. A suggestion. Thanks
