    Went on vacation to Norway with my parents while aged 3. Still receiving complaints about their lack of sleep about 40 years later due to my refusal to go to sleep. It was their decision to pull up this far north🤷🏻😂

      Haha love that!! The midnight sun will get any parent! 😂 Luckily our kids slept super well considering the small space and late nights! definitely had some late nights but it is working out okay 😊

    We’ve got the same van. Did you know there’s also a gas flow valve underneath the cooker? This is where we turn the supply on and off. We leave the main gas bottle attachment on most of the time.
    We added a full extension pullout tray in the boot/trunk. Makes accessing items a breeze.
    We live in central Germany and travelled to Scotland this year (via the Eurotunnel) absolutely amazing. Norway is on our bucket list. Hope you guys can update your webpage at some point. Norway has so much to offer, it can become quite overwhelming picking the best route. All part of the adventure though.
    Thanks for sharing 🤗

    Hey, I am pretty sure I did the same hike as you showed in the beginning. Down to the little beach and then up on the next mountain from where I went down to that famous cave wich is located there close over the water level.
    Was it that place? Getting down to the cave was wet and difficult. Quite hard to do. not possible with children. So I guess you did not go down there. I also was at these little houses under the overhang of the mountain.
    You will be amazed how spectacular Norways nature is. The fjords, the mountains, the waterfalls, the wooden houses.
    A rough beauty that is one of a kind.

      Yes that’s the same hike! You’re right though, we did not go to the cave with our kids! Just the little lighthouse 😊 Sounds like your time in Norway was awesome! We can’t wait for you to see what what we experience on Sunday! Stay tuned!

    I'm always intrigued how clever the packaging is in those Campers. I wonder how many more storage spaces and extra practicality manufacturers could find in normal cars, if they applied the same level of creativity.

    appreciate the tour of your California van. So sad they do not sell in US - VW concept was born there 60 & 80s. I drive the Toyota version of the VW van from „Crosscamp“ - little cheaper not so experienced. Biggest advantage is the length of 6 meter for city driving. As you maybe experienced packaging & organizing is the biggest time consumer in those vans, but you will figure this out. Have a nice time ❤

    another interesting video. i did Finnland and Nothern Norway with my own car and stayed in Hotels, but it was only few days up in the north. A longer trip to Norway has to be with a Camper and it's just the one you have rented I have in mind as well... not anything longer or broader... firstly i am not used to driving larger cars and secondly the streets in Norway can be really narrow and it would stress me out with a bigger vehicle. it's a challenge for 4 but for two it should be easy. First impressions are cool. Actually I've seen couples on the internet and in real life which travelled all over Europe, especially the south with warmth and sun and beaches etc. but many of them decided to move to Sweden or Norway permanently. There is something about Scandinavia that many - especially Germans - are attracted to for a permanent residence. I thought about it too, but i am not really a winter type. Even in Berlin the sunset in Winter is too early for me. In Bonn it's roughly 45 Minutes later and i can tell the difference with my psyche. So Germany, France, Benelux, Switzerland, Austria seem to have the right mixture in temperature and weather for me... at least to live permanently.. though i sometimes dream about moving to Portugal... sigh... ok, I can't make up my mind lol. Have fun..

    Hi guys, from tenting to a small camper bus and next time with bit more space and a driver who is used to drive small and narrow roads, it will be a "Kastenwagen". Well, such cars so incedeible expensive and i doesnt make sense if you buy one just for use of couple days in a year. I wonder about your weather conditions regarding rain. May be in future you will face lot more. Great to see you like this kind life for a short period. Do you know the camping phrase: Camping ist der Zustand wo der Mensch seine eigene Verwahrlosung als Erholung empfindet. In diesem Sinne: Gutte Erholung, lots of nice impressions and happy days. CU

      @mogon721 Рік тому

      It's possible to have both, an affordable every-day car that is also a camper with considerable comfort. I have converted an Opel Combo L2H2 (same as Fiat Doblo Maxi XL).
      I partly followed this concept, albeit with a shorter kitchen without fridge and with a shower instead. Solar on the roof, a microwave in the kitchen, Diesel heating, good insulation, and a fixed bed. On top of that, I use it as an office mobile with a 24" monitor.
      ua-cam.com/video/NYmuYHmXE9c/v-deo.html
      The car is hardly more expensive than an average compact car. Tax and insurance are on the same level, and if you don't drive wastefully, you can manage 6-6.5 l/100km.
      The obvious compromise is that you don't have full standing height, but on the other hand, it's good for stealth camping. If you look at the other videos, you'll find that there are also versions with a roof that opens like in the VW California bus. Personally, I prefer a hard roof over a tent roof, but that's a choice.
      I wouldn't use it for 4 people, but look at this amazing build:
      ua-cam.com/video/FOCNQWU3bE8/v-deo.html
      That's next level camper conversion. ;-)

    • @mogon721
      @mogon721 Рік тому +1

      By the way, the Combo L2H2 has more standing height than the standard Volkswagen bus or any other comparable van like Ford Transit or Renault Rapid.
