@@Crafter_H Baldwin and Steinway are piano manufacturing companies. Basically he’s just saying “Company A wants me to tell you that this piano is not made by Company A, but its made by Company B” 😂 if that straightens it out for ya😂
Eric Morecombe was the same. As he said when playing Grieg’s piano concerto for Andre Previn who told him he was playing all the wrong notes. I am playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order
On a grand piano, you can play a note in the base and then put down the middle pedal. The middle pedal will sustain this note in isolation until the pedal is lifted. This is useful in composers like Debussy. The sustaining pedal on the right lifts the dampers off the keys so that the note just played carries on sounding (otherwise when you let go of a note the damper comes down and stops the string vibrating). The left pedal moves the hammers so that they only hit two out of the three strings and therefore the resulting sound is softer.
@@maryhill1925 You explained all about the piano. Now I will explain to you the man. He is the other part of the same joke, you see. A man has a left leg and a right leg, which are the only parts of the man that touch the ground when the man plays the piano the correct way. He has two legs, and two legs only. Now, the piano has three pedals, which cannot be played at the same time using only two legs. Therefore, another part of the man should be able to operate the third pedal. Now, men have another body part that reaches from the center downwards. It is called the male penis. Only in men with exceptionally long penisses can the penis touch the middle pedal of the piano. So Mr. Borge is asking if the company that presents this Steinway piano really believe that he has this particular length of penis. And that is funny because all penis jokes are funny.
@@u.v.s.5583 Oh, I thought the joke was about not sustain a note in isolation in a situation where you should have sustained a note in isolation, which would make it sound really funny.
