- Victor Borge (1909-2000)
Dán zongorista-karmester. Humoros zenei előadásai révén nagyon népszerű lett Amerikában.
Ez az adás az ausztrál TV-csatornák egyikén ment le 1980 szeptemberében.
A danish man joking about Austrian music in english, and with hungerian subtitles. And a bit of japanese included. Wonderfull!
Its a very narrow field- the classical music comedian. Borge, ANNA RUSSELL, and PDQ Bach. Was there anyone else
@Geoff G I would too! Examples?
@@jefolson6989 very narrow field! this woman Nicole Pesce did at least this one (don't know if she did anything else): ua-cam.com/video/OaZveHbxAYs/v-deo.html
i never tire of falling down a Victor Borge rabbit hole
Twoderful!!
Old composers never die, they just de-compose.
Omg- 😆
Monty Python did a song called Decomposing Composers. “ You can still hear Beethoven but not much of him left to hear.”
Yeah!
If it wasn’t for U tube, these gems would not be seen again.
Mozart would have loved such a musical parody of his opera.
Borge's irreverent humor (aimed largely at classical music itself), along with his obvious genius, makes him very much like Mozart.

In 1994, I finally had a chance to see Victor Borge in person - 30 years after I first saw him on TV. Even at 85 years old, he was still every bit as animated, funny, talented and entertaining! He showed me that playing music is not something that has to be serious all of the time, which is why he remains one of my primary influences along with Frank Zappa!
That would e something frank and victor playing together
Yeah!
I'm right with you - Borge and Zappa ... EXCELLENT! 😊
One thing I liked about Victor Borge was his ability to ad lib. Hardly a concert went by when he didn't deviate from the script -- when there was one, that is!
Yeah!
I've seen him do the same ad libs for years! Everything was carefully planned. But he made it look spontaneous.
Feels so... dumb (!) -- and yet utterly irresistible -- laughing at an elderly gentleman falling down on his piano. Victor's stuff never gets old -- what an evergreen...!

I feel happy (don't like opera too much... I know - it's a shame, don't tell anyone :)
@@leonid3312 Which operas have you seen to be able to say that you don't like them? If you haven't seen any, then you can't really say that you don't like them can you.
Yeah!
I remember watching him on this show. There were even more skits he did that night...he basically took over the entire show.
I have an old recording of this routine and he left out two of my favorite jokes... The baritone comes in singing "Toreador, toreador!" but he finds out he's in the wrong opera and, the soprano, before she dies, sings an aria, the so called "die aria". Miss him.
I love how the filming crew was playing along with his jokes. That was so wholesome and cute
The part with the mic on the crane was very good.
Oh my god can‘t stop watching this video over and over🤗 So sad that such funny heartwarming people are already gone. But it is a gift that the memory of the movies and videos remain. My children love him. So I do.
He is a really silly man, and the good kind of silly 😂😂😂 And he plays so well of course, that added to his genius skills of acting and comedy
Si on veux😅
I lost it when he started "singing"... what a talent!! Riotous!
I was lucky enough to see him preform in Oxnard Ca with his son. He entertained for almost 2 hours. He was 95 Years OLD. He didn’t look over 65.
oui , vous avez 12:49 eu une sacrée chance. De tels artistes sont rares.
Quand je n'ai pas trop le moral , je le regarde sur Internet et je me sens tout de suite beaucoup mieux. 😅😅
Victor was a comedic Icon. Love him to pieces...
Yeah!
Victor Borge is such a treasure. I have loved him ever since hearing the album he did, of Hans Christian Anderson stories, as a young boy. I played it over and over. I still do, sometimes, even today.
This is my favorite skit ever! Never gets old!
Yeah!
I hadn't seen a video of Victor Borge in so many years. This is thoroughly delightful. I've never seen him that it wasn't amazingly delightful.
First time I've heard him! He is hilarious! Top bloke!
just look at this: ua-cam.com/video/K3Z2mrpqtRo/v-deo.html

hugely talented and great artist !
He was so funny!
I love him, love his sense of humor!
Greetings from Germany
We are so lucky to be able to see this much of his talent.
I love this routine.
The death scene here is positively amazing.
Between the Russian communists and the Nazis we were fortunate to provide a home here to many extraordinary artists, musicians, writers and scientists. Europe's loss, our gain.
There was only one Victor Borge! And his sendup of opera just about sums up my attitude to it, too.
I bursted out screaming when he put up the note stand on the piano!
Fantastic human being. Adorable.
Beautifull man Viktor Borge :)
The world desperately needs more humor. Victor's slapstick comedy let's us laugh at him and ourselves. The most brilliant exponent of the art of comedy that the youngerly wish for.
The tenor part at 8:40 is actually a pretty catchy line in its own right...
... well sung, too.
Yeah!
Love Victor Borge,he`s the Best

I always watched him when I was a little girl. Still love ❤️ him! Thank you 😊 please keep sending these videos.
Just incredibil persoana. Top nutch pianist. Ever. Real real real funny original
What a marvelous, witty comedian he is. My neighbor´s dog woke up barking at the same rhythm than his voice and piano.
"And nobody knows, except Mozart, and he's dead"
That one got me on the floor.
Köszönjük a remek fordítást!
His piano-playing remind me of Vladimir Horowitz. His smile and talk show remind me of Sir Charles Chaplin. He does these things naturally and how great it is . I thank GOD for his bornning in the world.
quel genie merveilleux interprete dote d un sens du comique uncroyable bravo et merci
This guy was great
Bravo!
My family and I loved Mr. Borga
Utterly brilliant.
Zseniális humorista. Végignézve a karrierjét, mindig a legmagasabb szinten. Hofi szint.
Rare talent!
He was such a fantastic and hilarious man. Not only was he a comedic genius, but he was an incredible musician. So sad there's no more like him.
There will never be anyone like him. A brilliant man!
He is pure magic!!!
j 'ai 69 ans et je le decouvre seulement maintenant 💟.Quel talent!
Such GREAT GREAT talent.
Such a shame that people nowadays have never heard of him
I am a person of "YAMAHA". But even if not, I love Voctor Borge.
yamaha, aso! kills me each time
Victor Borge per sempre, Unico💖😂💖
I wish I knew this man in person.
The best ever piano player 😅😂😊 from Andrew.
Hi all, I have some rare footage with Victor Borge - recorded in his native country Denmark. He partly speaks Danish, but I have applied English subtitles for those parts. This is the playlist (Enjoy!): ua-cam.com/play/PLCby7t-aPVUksdwJPSy7ov7-tHibgxC4h.html
Thank you, excellent, hilarious, I'm binge-watching them 😂 👍
Ho I accidentally bump into one of them, the page turner while looking for more! Amazing content thanks for the playlist!
Cheers from France!
Børge Rosenbaum is a master
Legend !!
Brilliant Borges..
Everyone's dream grandfather.
Would love to hear him play something all the way through, we never have that luxury.
What a genius!
Boldogsag!
7:01 that really struck a chord with me 😉
It's crazy how he uses your expectation that he'd have bad timing due to age and turns it on its head.
There's a German musical clown named Helge Schneider. I finally found the inspiration for his piano antics.
In addition, this is also a great demonstration of ADD!! I love him!
how luckey are we !!!!!!!!!
When he Started talking about a method to learn any language and proceeded to talk about tape recorders and cassets, I found myself uttering the words "Dude just use your smartphone..?" .. and then I thought "oh...hmm".
@Rinn Skayf: Oh you kidz!
Back in MY day, I remember the first cassette player I had. It was a wooden one and the tapes were of banana leaves, stripped. That's 'cause plastic wasn't invented yet (remember this was way, way back - almost 2370AD y'know). And it took me almost 3 months to carve that wooden cassette player out of sand, no kiddin'! Sand *IS* hard to carve.
Emma! Emm... oh there you are, dearie! Where's my enema? I need to go now.
Ta, dear!
@Rinn Skayf: Do you want me to tell you how I captured and domesticated the world's first smartphone? I googled Amazon on my WhatsApp and ordered take-out with a side order of Windows 8.0
And now do you want me to tell you how I froze my first . . . wait, let me finish ... but, but I haven't even started yet!!! Oh OK, I can take a hint. I know when I'm not wanted.
Bye! (But remember, any time you want me to tell you how I did something, all you gotta do is vissil.)
