A budget high-end phone... if this phone really delivers the promises it's a very good buy compared to phones like the Galaxy S7. As far as I can see it looks very good, interface looks good, seems very snappy... and of course the high quality audio... if the camera is also very good this phone is a very smart buy.
+Seductive Panda yeah, 200 with a two year contract lol. We're talking about phones that are unlocked. A 2 year contract galaxy s7 is not 800, he's talking about an unlocked version. The 3GS, was at least 600 unlocked when it came out if I'm remembering correctly.
RemixedVoice If I'm not mistaken the iPhone 3GS was only sold by carriers with a contract back then, you couldn't buy an unlocked off the shelf version.

Got the same dac chip used in A&K 380 dap which is regarded as the best dap in the msrket (it has 2 dac chips tho). Also Axon did a hell of a lot of work in reducing the clock so the audio quality is probably the best

True OLED 4K on a smartphone would be absolutely mind-blowing, but you're gonna have to wait a bit before it happens. I'm just waiting for an Ultrawide 21:9 3440x1440 OLED display.

Been using my Axon 7 for a few months now, I still have no desire to buy another- well because I'm a tech geek I have the urge to buy other phones, but the Axon 7 is doing everything I need and want it to do without any issues. The phone hasn't even crashed on me once!

front facing speaker is the best part I can't believe more phones are not doing this it just seems so obvious why would you want a tiny speaker on the back that your hand covers up when holding the phone it makes no sense. manufacturers shouldn't even be allowed to put speaker facing the rear one speaker facing the rear to boot

I have had this phone for about 6 weeks now and totally love it. I have always been irritated with the quality of audio available on phones but this one hits all the right marks. Fantastic sound on headsets, as well as external speakers but in addition its fast and does everything I would expect of a high end phone. Ok the camera isn't quite as good as others but it's still really good and at the end of the day if I want a better pic I will use a dedicated camera. The only thing I haven't checked yet is how well it drives full sized headphones. The buds that come with it sound good but they are ear buds at the end of the day so I want to get some better headphones. I didn't think I would see a difference with the higher res screen but I must say I like it. Battery life is good but its tough to tell as I have lots of apps that run in the background all the time. It lasts all day but it's at 30% ish after about 6pm. If you are in to audio and don't want to pay 6 to 9 hundred for a premium phone get this one.

One year later, not regretting having bought this phone at all.
just got the phone... it is beyond worth the price, the software is still buggy, but support told me It will update soon. all the running specs match the s7 (even though the s7 still outdoes this by miles, but 700$ not unlocked, its not really comparable in price). long story short the phone is amazing for the price if you love decent hi-fi and don't mind a mediocre camera/ developing software, and some mild bloatware

idk if you got a bad phone, but I have had the phone almost since release and the software has never been buggy for me. As far as the camera, I think it's amazing in good light, but lacks in low light. saying it's mediocre is dishonest
after more experience with the camera I've changed my opinion, I totally agree, and I love the different modes,/features. this phone has really blown me away

You don't understand. It's not cheap to include all those accessories plus flagship hardware like that for a phone. They had to cut corners somewhere. Unless ZTE cut there profit by a lot! (Don't know what kinda of profit Samsung makes per S7 to compare, nor will I ever know, because that's a company's trade secret or private information or whatever) | The OnePlus 3... Did you hear that it doesn't even have a full 1080p screen? Or maybe that was just on the OS, that wasn't 1080p icons or something.
ModernCoolCat Mate, I actually own the Oneplus 3, and it's actually pretty good. I had an HTC 10 beforehand that I sold, and I'd say they're about equal in quality, with the same performance. Also, the screen complaints are seriously overblown. I use it in front of my face, and the pixel density is so high that it's perfectly clear. A $400 dollar phone being good seems weird, but that's the reality now.

wow, my ZTE blade x max's (I have two) have the same audio drivers in them. I absolutely love them and if I were to ever get another phone I would solely use one of my Blades as an mp3 device.

Similar to most other tech channels (ones that deal with computers specifically) normally receive a review product to basically yeah promote it. In most cases the reviewer has to send it back to the company.

Would love to see this compared to the HTC 10's built in dac and amplifier. From what I've heard the Axon 7 doesnt use a 32bit dac and just upsamples the audio.

I've had my Axon 7 for over a year now, and it's still like new. The sound is still amazing and the battery health is about 97% picture is still great no burn and I'm very pleased with this product.
i have this phone ... never getting another. This phone is perfect and half the price of what it rivals

Thank you so much for this video. If it weren't for this video I would have never gotten the Axon 7. This is one of the most AWESOME smartphone out. 50 + apps and still runs extremely fast. It does way more than this video show the camera is great but the display and sound is ridiculous.

I've had my Axon 7 for over a year now and have had no desire to buy a new phone anytime soon. Probably the most underrated smartphone and it's unfortunate no one really knows about it.
Every time this guy does an "audio test" he holds it to his mic like were gonna be able to tell the quality of the audio after youtube compression...

Not many music streaming services support Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos is just the EQ that's built in to the phone. If you have Dolby Atmos on any sound will go through the EQ with whatever you have it adjusted to.
My Lenovo Vibe X3 has Dolby Atmos too!!!

I dont know why more companies don't put front facing speakers on their phones. You need a little space on the top and bottom anyway so you can hold the phone when it's in landscape orientation, and so that cases can grip onto the phone. Why not use that extra space for front facing speakers?
in terms of sound quality, my 2008 walkman sony Ericsson is still too much for any smartphones on de market today.

The Axon 7 64 GB is my favourite Smartphone (and also Michael Fisher says the same, I specifically like the front-speaker-grills design like HTC used to have, but they have changed their design language). the screen made by samsung which mean it will stuck on screen shadow of some image if it's get warm enough after using it for couple hours, try that at any samsung show room just held up your hand over the screen if it's could and the the screen will get an fixed image shadow on it permanently
ZTE are great phones, my first ZTE (a Racer II) lastet for (now hold tight) 5 years! Bought in 2010 and then i gave it to a friend and never got it back but i saw him last year still using it

+Ace , I agree! They should add a case, at least. Even if it's just a cheap flimsy one. I just bought a phone from BLU and it came with a screen protector and case. It was a nice surprise and saved me from having to buy one! Hopefully it will start becoming a trend among phone companies.
i buyed the same phone( the zte axon 7) and i got a protector too and that´s very cool! but it didn´t came with a screen protector ;/
Watching this on my 1.5 year old Axon7! A brilliant phone and still holding up strong. Such a shame my next phone won't be a ZTE due to the recent denial of export privileges, which they sorta deserve.

I do have a phone from ZTE but, it's not the Axon 7, I currently have the ZTE Speed which I got on my birthday last Sunday.
