Foreigner viewer here man, when I say to you, PLEASE do not be scared of uploading extensive videos, we that are any fans of this country absolutely love the longer videos, you seem like a non biased traveler from Thailand, but I enjoyed your content.
Long videos/vlogs are actually new for me.. I’m studying other vloggers and will continue to improve them with each video. I’ll definitely have some longer ones!
The Philippines is a vlogger's paradise. Filipinos are really appreciative of vloggers since they know that vloggers show to the world the positives of the Country that are often ignored by foreign media outlets. Others might think or even say that foreign vloggers are just baiting Filipinos. I'll tell you a secret but don't get offended. Many Filipinos really think that they are taking advantage if foreign vloggers by baiting them into visiting the Philippines, spend time and money here which help many Filipinos earn an income, grow the economy, realize more revenues for the Government, and make videos promoting the Philippines to the world. 😊😊😊 You'd be surprise to know later on that many Filipinos don't skip ads so they can help vloggers earn from the videos. Even so, don't put your guard down too much because like any other Country, there are some people here who take advantage of others. But generally, Filipinos are really nice and extremely hospitable. Godbless! 🙏
I do think everyone can benefit from vlogging here in the Philippines. I enjoy making these types of videos and helping local businesses/economies, so why not make them in the country that appreciates it most and also watches the videos the most. We help each other!
I do NOT see anything wrong if a foreign vlogger visit the Philippines to get more subscribers. Its a win-win situation for both vlogger and our country. We filipinos (OFWs) also go to foreign countries to work and earn more money.
I couldn't agree more! I couldn't be prouder to be a Filipino. Foreign countries hire Filipinos not that they can speak English, but 'cause they're hardworker and resilient.
New subscriber here, welcome to the Philippines ! We're always here to support foreign vloggers here in our country just always be respectful and kind ,and you'll receive that ten thousands folds . 🇵🇭
In the PH, to be respectful without feeling like you’re butting in, a simple “excuse me” followed by what you want to say is how it’s done. OR “kamusta po” then followed with your question - kamusta means how are you and adding the “po” at the end of your sentence is sign of respect. 5:10 he asked “in Tagalog?” That’s because by saying “delicious!” it’s enough and widely understood. More widely used expression in the PH. Common expressions and greetings in English in the PH and you’d be fine. More than anything is the different accent that locals may not be used to and generally English accent is fine. Again, you’d be 👌🏼
Very interesting video, Jonathan. The people of the Philippines are extremely warm, welcoming and try to help tourist in any way they can. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay there.
It is the right move to communicate... dont hesitate to ask question or seek assistance, filipinos are more than glad to help you...welcome to the philippines...
Mabuhay Jonathan! Glad you finally made your way to the only Spanish- colonized and American- ruled country in Asia! We love how our history has enriched our heritage and now compliments the beauty of our country's landscape. Our people's friendliness and hospitality is natural, not fake nor a form of validation from foreigners who visit us. You can encounter it from street kids or in history books about past presidents who opened the only door amongst all nations to thousands of Jews fleeing the Nazis, refugee Russians escaping communisn, and housed and educated Vietnamese who escaped Saigon but were lost at sea. We love life and enjoy the company of visitors. Be patient with our traffic, internet not as fast nor as accessible as in Thailand (imagine supplying it ito more than 7,000 rocks separated by seas 🥺), English not as sharp as Americans. Promise you we have many other things that will amaze you! Welcome and enjoy your stay. Be safe! 🇺🇲🇵🇭🇺🇲🇵🇭🇺🇲🇵🇭🇺🇲🇵🇭🇺🇲🇵🇭
Mabuhay! So glad to finally be here! I agree, the locals' friendliness seems 100% genuine. I lost my gopro yesterday, and all of the locals were going out of their way to help me get it back. So helpful! Unfortunately, it disappeared with the taxi, but I was very appreciative of their attempts to help me

Filipinos are appreciative of foreign vloggers due to biased news of local mainstream media. For the past decades, they covered few good news and a lot of negative spin about the PH mostly in English. Thus, foreign media could easily pick it up. Observe, shift or preference to social media in conveying good news and getting balanced information is happening. Enjoy your PH adventure, the unpretentious and mesmerizing country in SEA :) Way to go!
That makes sense. Many foreigners might have the wrong impression of the Philippines. I think videos like this talking with locals will help people see how Filipinos really are!
when you don’t like the news in mainstream media you call it bias but if you like it its not! how about filtering/sugarcoating the news so you will like it?
@@shamanmagnus1925 There are a lot bad news in other countries as well but they don't go out of the country. They are kept within the country and not happily reported by the media. Singapore is a very good example of that. They don't report the bad news happening in their country. Vietnam is another country that you don't see the media reporting anything negative about their country.
You are probably the only one I’ve seen who actually have conversation with the locals. Well I don’t watch many travel vloggers also 😅 learned something new (conyo?) can’t wait to go next year and move back in 4 years.
Glad you make it to the Philippines. I am living in Southern California for long time now and enyoy watching vloggers because I got to see Philippines. Definitely I will be watching your vlog. Filipinos are really friendly, but they could be shy. They are also couteous. There will be no problem communicating. Surrounding are very different. You will see higher end places to the poorest environments. One thing you probably will learn, Filipinos whether you are poor, you see them happy, all smiles and still contented the way they live. So ENJOY and EXPLORE and be open minded. Mabuhay!
Lovely interaction with the locals! Welcome to the Philippines with 17 regions, 81 provinces, 136 cities, 1,494 municipalities, and 41,995 barangays. 🇵🇭
Will start to watch your vlogs especially in the Philippines ❤️ Thanks for visiting our country. Looking for more videos of you here. New subscriber here! ❤️❤️
FYI: Some English words do not have a direct translation in the vernacular Don't hesitate to ask for directions if you think you're lost, most Filipinos will gladly help you Thank you for visiting the PH ! ! ! 🤩
2:23 It's perfectly fine, it doesn't come across as rude at all. To be honest, Filipinos are so laid back there's no need for formalities, that's just my opinion. You could just use single word or phrases as long as it's English, we got you. 😅👍 12:35 This is the Ayala Triangle Park just right beside that establishment you're walking there's a restaurant called "Blackbird", which was once an airport called Nielson Tower or Manila International Air Terminal. I believe it was the very first airport of the Philippines during the American era. The entire Ayala Avenue was once a runway.
Welcome to philippines man! Just to give you a heads up.. if you are gonna be travelling outside of manila. It is gonna be different language thats gonna be spoken from different parts of the philippines. But most of them can speak either tagalog or english. Have a safe trip and enjoy man!! 😊😊😊

You will enjoy more the places you visit, tbe food you eat, and the country will benefit also from your vlog. You are indirectly promoting the beauty of the place without trying too. Filipinos are really hospitable without pretense and very helpful to foreigners. Just be careful and be open minded. Enjoy your stay and stay well and happy. Cheers!
Beef Pares is good. First time tasting it in Jersey City Filipino restaurant. Never really tried it when I was in the Philippines. Of course, local cuisine wasn't really served nationally like the Bicol Express and others back then. Now you can find them almost anywhere in the Philippines
The guy in the 'Beef Soup' street food cart is trying to greet his friends since he knows he will be seen by your followers! :) You just tried 'Pares' (the 'Beef Soup' he mentioned). That is one of my favorites and not really the first street food a foreigner might experience - you are lucky to see one immediately!
I’m grateful with your blogs because it gives me ideas and information as where to go and eat, the next time I come and visit my family in the Philippines. Much love from Washington DC 😊😊 By the way, I love the way you interact with the locals. I’m a new subscriber in your channel.
Im just repeating your previous videos, till you upload a new one. My favorite is still when you were in Pasay, narrow road with a lot of kids and nice neighborhood
I live in Mindanao and when I need to travel back to the USA, I have a stay over in Manila. My wife is paranoid something will happen to me if I step out and try to go see things other than a hotel or the airport. She says the streets can be dangerous so, it's nice to see your video and what you have shown. About your lost luggage, a lot of travelers in South East Asia just take a hardshell carry-on about 20 inches and then buy anything extra when they arrive. Just a tip to avoid the extra time at the luggage claim area and the possibility of lost luggage.
Welcome to the Philippines ❤️ I love the way you doin your vlog. For sure you will encounter Halo Halo the most popular dessert in the Philippines. But our main language is tagalog infused with Spanish and English so you will be at ease in our culture and also the locals are welcoming just to be kind and they will treat you as part of the family. And if one more thing eat variety of Filipino food it's awesome.
I’ve noticed the English and Spanish words while locals are speaking! I can understand a few words actually. I’m looking forward to trying some more local food on Cebu island!

First and foremost, if you are in Metro Manila, go to BGC, Taguig. Stroll around the BGC High Street and Uptown Bonifacio. You can also go to the American cemetery for the WWII soldiers, but you need proper attire and ID. Then go to Venice Grand Canal Mall in Mckinley Hill, Taguig which is a walking distance from the American cemetery. You also have to checkout SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City and I'm sure you've already checked out Makati City. From there, you can go to Northern Luzon where they have the mountain scenery in Baguio or Sagada. Or the beaches in Ilocos Norte and La Union. There's also a Spanish architecture city in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Then you can go to the Island life/Beach life in Boracay or Palawan El Nido or Surigao.

@@shamanmagnus1925 Mainstream media in the Philippines are BIAS. And I think you're blind 🙃
@@_SJ hahaha if you’re not agree with news you called it bias! maybe im blind but you are deaf and blind!
Mabuhay!
Mabuhay! Feel free to speak English and ask questions😀 Filipinos will always find time to help out.
hahah, they do understand my English extremely well! I just enjoy learning the local language of Tagalog!
Hello welcome to the philippines ....enjoy ur stay n keep safe n God Bless ...
Thank you very much!
Lovely interaction with the locals! Welcome to the Philippines with 17 regions, 81 provinces, 136 cities, 1,494 municipalities, and 41,995 barangays. 🇵🇭
The locals are so friendly and chatty! It makes traveling alone much more enjoyable
Welcome to the Philippines bro! appreciate you're trying to speak in Tagalog.. hope you enjoy your stay in Manila 👍
Will start to watch your vlogs especially in the Philippines ❤️ Thanks for visiting our country. Looking for more videos of you here. New subscriber here! ❤️❤️
Awesome! Thank you for your sub!!
Soft spoken and polite tourist. Have a blast in the Philippines :)
its better late than never
WARM WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES😊
FYI: Some English words do not have a direct translation in the vernacular
Don't hesitate to ask for directions if you think you're lost, most Filipinos will gladly help you
Thank you for visiting the PH ! ! ! 🤩
Welcome to PHILIPPINES. Looking forward for your adventures in our country.
2:23 It's perfectly fine, it doesn't come across as rude at all. To be honest, Filipinos are so laid back there's no need for formalities, that's just my opinion. You could just use single word or phrases as long as it's English, we got you. 😅👍
12:35 This is the Ayala Triangle Park just right beside that establishment you're walking there's a restaurant called "Blackbird", which was once an airport called Nielson Tower or Manila International Air Terminal. I believe it was the very first airport of the Philippines during the American era. The entire Ayala Avenue was once a runway.
Welcome to my beautiful Cebu island , enjoy & great videos Jonathan. Thank you.
8:20 oh u found a quick meal !!
😱
U are good !! ....that is the best (& cheap too) breakfast u found
😁 👍
Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines!
Welcome to philippines man! Just to give you a heads up.. if you are gonna be travelling outside of manila. It is gonna be different language thats gonna be spoken from different parts of the philippines. But most of them can speak either tagalog or english. Have a safe trip and enjoy man!! 😊😊😊
Thanks for your heads up.
Welcome to the Philippines, Jonathan! Enjoy your stay and be safe.
Thank you! I will!
Positive vibes! Glad to see you are happy being in the country. Philippines has so much to offer tourist only if they are willing to mingle and accept the people. Cheers!
Welcome to Philippines
Have fun and enjoy...keep safe
MABUHAY🇵🇭❤️🤗
Beef Pares is good. First time tasting it in Jersey City Filipino restaurant. Never really tried it when I was in the Philippines. Of course, local cuisine wasn't really served nationally like the Bicol Express and others back then. Now you can find them almost anywhere in the Philippines
Man, ur eyes… it’s mesmerizing. Nways, welcome to Philippines. Enjoy!
hahah, thank you!!
TRY TO NOTICE that house from 3:20 that's antiquated house.for sure it build from 1800's spanish era
The guy in the 'Beef Soup' street food cart is trying to greet his friends since he knows he will be seen by your followers! :)
You just tried 'Pares' (the 'Beef Soup' he mentioned). That is one of my favorites and not really the first street food a foreigner might experience - you are lucky to see one immediately!
That was actually the first street food I had here! It was very flavorful and filling for breakfast!
Good on you mate getting more to know of our beautiful Manila!!!
Mabuhay welcome to the philippines enjoy ur stay

Filipino language and any versions of Filipino "dialects " from different islands has a fusion of Spanish and English words and phrases.
New Subscribers here☺️ I’m glad you Finally visited Philippines 🇵🇭 hope you enjoyed it. Take care and be safe all the time.

Philippines has a lot to offer if you go to south dialect is different you to north part its also different .

@@travelescapesOFFICIAL yes if you visit zamboaga city the Asia's Latin city they speak chavacano dialect which is Spanish croel language mostly 80 % the sentences are Spanish mix with zamboaga tribe dialect.
Waiting for next video sir
almost finished with it! Thanks for watching!
Batanes is also good, in the northen tip part of Luzon.
Welcome to the Philippines!😊New subscriber here. Glad you made it in the Philippines. Have fun and take care. Love how you explore the City and interact to locals. I'm 'gonna wait for your next video.🙂 Salamat! (Thank you) ingat! (Take care) God Bless you Sir!❤

There’s so many US citizens who retired in the Phils, mostly in Olongapo, former Subic Bay, some in the countryside where the food and air are fresh.
Cheers usually is being used when you're like drinking beer 🍺 or liquor and you'd like to bump in your drink to them or the other party, then you say cheers to that! to celebrate like let's toast to this,I really like that you are joining the locals that's the best way for you to get used to our culture.Welcome to our country.
Welcome to my country! Please visit Siquijor island near Cebu. The island is a very peaceful and laid-back life. The ordinary or the ones in the provinces are the ones the friendliest.
Thank you! I was actually just researching that island yesterday and looking at how to get there. Do you which port town from Cebu island has the ferry to Siquijor? It looks incredible!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Proceed to Pier 1 (hope didn't change) there's a ferry that transports passengers to Bohol, then last port is Siquijor.
