Ooh, if you're buying fresh coconut, after you finish the juice, you can ask the vendor to cut it open for you and you can eat the flesh of the coconut. Depending on the type of coconut, the flesh can be soft like jelly or very tender.
Anyway, glad to know you have recovered and are back to exploring! Also love when you feature the various animals.

Excellent vlog & information, thank you.
What I've found about all Asian countries is that food, cafe, restaurant prices differences vary hugely depending on how & where you buy.
Be careful & you can buy very cheap, go all out & you can easily blow your budget.
As a traveling man, I prefer the cheaper option & spend more on my travelling.

You are just one of the very few foreign vloggers that I've seen exploring the very cheap side of Philippines. It's like watching you living a very normal life of a typical Filipino which you will rarely see from other youtubers. I think it will only take you very short time to familiarize the cost of living and everything here in Philippines and you will finally be able to settle in. That is usually hard for other people specially foreigners but you are really good at it. Very informational vlog brother. Keep it up!

Hi Jonathan, great video! Thanks! Naomi here from California. I truly appreciate what you’re sharing. I see the places you are showing and they are pretty much the same as when I was growing up in the Philippines. Although I have lived in the US more than I have lived in the Philippines, I watch your videos and I feel that I haven’t left or I can easily feel I’m still there. Btw, not sure if you have come across someone who can cut the whole young coconut for you and place it in a plastic bag. I’ve seen a street vendor in Quezon City do this. The extracted coconut is like a solid ball with the coconut water still inside. Using the straw to drink the water like you did but with the husk peeled off. This way, you can also easily enjoy the soft, delicious, and nutritious meat of the coconut. A very special knife made of water buffalo horn is used. It’s a sight to see. Very masterful. Like watching a performance art. When you find one, please show us. Happy travels!

Also the "kaayo" is kind of like "very much " as in Salamat kaayo is a more formal thanknyou very much. "Ka dako kaayo" - it's very big. Kind of like that. Also, masarap, try not to make a z sound. Just ma-sah-rap. They said "amping" which is take care. Honestly, if you're not picky, most carinderia is filling, good and cheap. Happy trails!
