I enjoyed the tempo of the analysis breakdown. I could follow it and actually see it work as it it was being explained. Will follow for my knowledge 👏🏾💪🏾
Honestly, Porto prepared this game really well. But Amorim has been evolving so much as of late. His capabillity of adapting mid game and exploiting new weakness is amazing. Truly a manager for the biggest teams in the world
Ruben Amorim's tactic sometimes gets boring because, our players will not progress unless they find the space to do it, our players induce the opponent to error and exploit it. But it sure almost always end up with a shot on target which over 50% of them ends up in goal so, it is a very patient but effective tactic. Ruben Amorim is genious. edit: Also, you forgot talkin g about how Sporting, when creating play, opens up a space in the middle of the defensive lineup for Morita to support the team when the opponent has a high line of pressure, making sure the opponent doesn't take the ball away or make our players loose the ball. (nvm, you did mention, i got ahead of myself xD) Also you can see here how much Morita offers to the play, something that you don't notice right away during the match, he's a beast, he's everywhere!
Great points! Amorim's tactics are based on patience and control, and in my opinion, these are essential aspects for breaking down well-organized and well-coached defensive blocks. Moving the ball with intent-whether through positioning or coordinated movements-is key to breaking defensive structures. With Gyökeres, Sporting also have the option to play more directly, as he serves as a great reference both in build-up play and in exploiting depth, especially when he drifts wide. As for Morita, he’s a truly complete player, excelling in the build-up phase, performing well even under pressure, working between the lines, and even joining the attack with penetrating runs. Well said!
great analysis... to bad you did not talk about their defence and most importantly their pressing. Since that is key to their success and a big part of what Ruben Amorim wants to do.
No doubt; discussing Sporting's defensive organization and pressing would also be very interesting. In this video, I’ve only focused on the attack to keep it concise, but in the future, I may do a more in-depth analysis specifically on those aspects. Thanks for highlighting this important aspect!
They recently changed the behavior of the center mids, When the oposition is blocking their build up in the middle, they moving to wider areas, between sporting´s full back and left attacking midfielder( or inverted winger). Bragança has done several times last matches. Also morita had to do it last match.
So now bruno or eriksen has to step up in each and every game as they will be the main choice for no 10 position with dalot on the right they could exploit by his pace but the main question is will he go with the same tactics as this one involves two no 10s while united play with wingers(could b counterd by playing wingers as wide midfielders like SAF era) anyway it would be amazing to see how he manages the team
So if he comes to Man Utd with this formation that means Garnacho and Bruno in the CAM spots with either Rashford Amad or Mount as rotational options with Ugarte and Kobbie in CDM spots with 2 new CDM’s in the summer with both Casemiro and Erickson looking likely to leave due age and high wage…hope he brings Hjulmand with him and Gyökeres and persuade Ineos to get rid of Anthony Shaw Lindelof Maguire and Casemiro
Nice tactics..... The question is that will united player remain calm....? Patience is key in every tactics..... All our wingers eye are on goal except Amad i guess
The principles he explained have been constantly used in all games, he just decided to show the most important game of the season so far against a well organized opponent
@ Would always favour a situation which sees Rashford out of the side because of his lack of discipline and actually, I don't know what I was thinking, of course that's Garnacho's spot. Amad for me offers natural width as the RM, though of course you consider both him and Dalot for that role. The LM is the biggest concern area though. Shaw and Malacia injuries present great imbalance to the side. Amorim shown he will blood youth though... maybe Amass could get an opportunity.
Interesting video. Too bad this game Porto really wanted to kill our progression through the middle so there aren't many examples of us building from Morita and Hjulmand.
If this set up means we get Bruno Fernandes running beyond the ball and into the box to get on the end of chances (like he was used under Ole), us Utd fans could be in for some good times again
As táticas eles já as sabem, difícil é contrariar-las. O Sporting está num nível muito alto neste momento e tem sido interessante ver algumas variações introduzidas nesta época.
Tbh, our formation uses the keeper a LOT, this is why we bought Kovacevic, he is very good with his feet and we do a lot of build up play with him. You'd be surprised by how much we play with the keeper during the build up. I actually wish he'd include that on this video.
@@cristianonunes8551 theres no formation in modern football that does not use a keeper....even Gardiola,Arteta,Ten hag and many others use the keeper in build up but the keeper is not included when writing the formation...it remains 433 or 352 or any other bt no.1 is not included
