@@TechGuyBeau the black screen on boot up lasts a few minutes and then takes me to the log in screen. I’ve actually had the issue for awhile. I’ve restored windows, tried a clean install of windows, tried combinations of different versions of bios and gpu drivers and I’ve found that the issue is nvidia drivers. Anything past 537.42 gives me the black screen and occasional bsod while gaming. I’m wondering if you have experienced the same thing and if so what was your remedy? Because I personally don’t want to be running 1 year old+ gpu drivers for the lifespan of my laptop. I’m worried eventually games will require me to update and I’ll be forced to cope with the black screen and other issues that it brings. (I have the slim 7 gen 8 amd btw)

Hello, I have the legion pro i5 with i7-14700hx and 4070. I did a cinebench and I saw that the throttling was activated all the time with 50% reduction (according to HWiNFO). I wanted to know if this was the case with your cpu (i7 14650hx) and if it was therefore normal. I noticed that the average temperature of your i7 was 90°c (CPU Package) over a total of 4 minutes of cinebench. Is this a good result?
I just watched your glowing review of the five slim. Is this really worth the 400 extra dollars if specs are identical?
Thank you, really Very informative
But just one question, In my country the pro is 200$ more expensive than the non pro one and without warranty ( international one)
Should i go it for the cooling and thermals or it's not worth it?
+ Also you got a new subscriber: )
Should i go for it
Not related to the video, but are you eyeing on reviewing the new Thinkbook 16p Gen 5? It's interesting to see its specs compared to others lineup as it offer budgetary means to work and play at the same time, I'm feeling like its a sleeper...
It hasn’t arrived yet :(
But I’m sure I will like it. I really loved the 16p last year
Actually, the specs are about the same as this now that I saw it, 2 Upgradable SODIMMS and NVMEs and a 165hz screen whilst offering i5hx to i7 and i9 hx, its literally the same... with lesser price. Its a sleeper built alright.
@@torpenhigalak5909just get the slim then and enjoy the slightly better gpu.
@@TechGuyBeau just search what the slim is and indeed their pretty similar with little about differences of configurability (Slim has soldered RAM whilst Thinkbook have socketed). Thank you much.
bro what would u recommend for 1600p high settings gaming? legion slim 5i with 4070 or legion 5i pro with 4060..they r bout the same price at my place
It probably won’t matter. If the prices are the same, the slim has the slightly more powerful GPU, and the pro has slightly more premium chassis. What are the differences in the screen, that may be a deciding factor
I m confused in between 4060 or 4070 ? I mean i can push to get 4070 ,but is it worth it to get 4070 ? Also i7 or i9 , which one you recommend, primary purpose is gaming, coding , editing 🤔
imo 4060 with i7 is good enough
15k for GPU and 5k for CPu.. lelo bhai.. i9 4070
if you're really buying i7 then Loq is better for i9 get Legion 5i pro

given the problems with intel's 14th generation processor, are Lenovo Legion 5i 2024 ( Gen 9 ) and Lenovo Legion pro 5i 2024 ( Gen 9 ) a good choice at the moment?

i7 and 4060 will be a good combo when paired with the beautiful 3.2k screen
Why so cheap?
Its on sale from 1667€ to 1390€, with 16gb RAM, and no OS, thats perfect for me, I m gonna work in 3d modeling programs like Catia, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SletchUp, and do some light gaming like CS and LoL, for AAA titles I got ps5😄 and if RAM will be a problem then I will uprgrade to 32 or 64, 32gigs will cost me 83€ so thats fine
hi, i just got this laptop, and i notice a clicking sound that is very similar to the old HDD sounds that would occur when the disk was reading/working. Do you notice anything like that? It sounds like the laptop is reading, but I thought SSD's didn't have mechanical parts.
I started to hear the same sound come from my laptop. I almost opened the back to see what the sound was, thinking it was a HD
Maybe coil whine ?
Hey mate . Nice review . Sheer performance wise which is better in 19v14900hx and 4070 config

7i for $400 more is far superior

What’s the price difference. The AMD CPU is much better for general use and battery, but the 14900hx is more powerful
The Intel will run VERY hot when compared to AMD
@TechGuyBeau the legion 5 slim AMD is 1300£ and the legion pro 5i intel is 1600£. 🙈🙈🙈i don't know what to do

I will play 90% of time pubg. Is cpu going to make a huge difference in fps in this case ?
Is a 14650hx or 14700hx better/cooler ?
Or maybe choose a different machine ? Wait for better offer ? Or wait for an offer on 4080 with different cpu ?
i am confused between the same laptop and there’s a talk going on that intel’s 13 and 14 gen processors being faulty. which one did you got
I got this one Core i9 14900HX / RTX 4070 version. Temperature was reaching 107 degrees when playing Forza 5 in balanced or performance mode. Returned it and ordered another one thinking the first one was defective. The second one still runs super hot but usually not more than 100degrees. I throttles too frequently IMO or maybe I am just too worried.
I am thinking of returning it and giving up on the legion pro 5i 😢
Anyone has this same laptop and faces this thermal issues?
What resolution, what fps? Limit your fps to something reasonable and you’ll be laughing. Also consider an AMD model if you are worried about CPU temps, or get an i5. I9 is almost never needed
@@TechGuyBeauThanks for replying... I tested with several resolutions, fps, and presets (from low to extreme), and temp goes up regardless. Only when in quiet mode it does not do it, but in Balanced or Performance, it goes up with anything I am using (also while 3D rendering, which is why I got the i9).
Would you recommend going with i7 + 4060 or i9 + 4070 with pro 5i
Or i should prefer legion 7i with i7 + 4060?....
Please answer.😊
The 7i is better all around if you want premium. The 5i pro if you get it get the 4060/i7. The higher model is a waste
