Thank you so much! I’m in 8th grade and I’m very new to track. Today I tried high jump for the second time and I might be participating in our meet on Wednesday, and I’m very short so I was told by the coach that I need to jump higher, this helped me so much!! Tysm! ❤
This is realy good. Thanks. I work as a track and field coach and i always struggle to explain how to do a proper highjump technique even tho i was a highjumper. This should help. 🙂
When and athlete lands on the high jump bar, they start to question. “Do I ever want to do track again in my life?” Perfect explanation of what it’s like to land on a high jump bar
Hey man, my name is blake, im 15, and my PB is 6'0" and my problem is form. I can clear 6ft purely off of my jump, but i can get a good 2-4 inches higher with good form. Maybe some high jump videos on jumping into form and how to control mid air would be fantastic! You have my sub though!
Today’s is my night before track, and im super desperate to get it right before the big day, because our entire class only got 1 week of work and practice before our track session. I hope this helps.
Hitting a HJ bar is much easier then hitting a 300# steeplechase barrier... Also curious why you have them run a circle instead of a J or U curve which is closer to an actual approach.
Imagine a baseball batter swinging until he made contact with the ball. The reason I have them run a full circle is to emphasize the motions and stay in the same position longer.. its an exaggerated coaching tip kind of like fully swinging through like batters do.
@@keinanbriggs Kind of like javelin throwers doing cross over step practice in multiple directions, using both feet and both up and down hill, until that step starts feeling natural.
Hey, I was wondering what’s a good, average, and bad triple and long jump length at the JV level? And what’s a good, average, and bad triple and long jump length on varsity?
Thanks sir but plz ans me that when I do high jump always my leg is always on the rope/ bar how can I do good high jump thanks for your long jump videos sir it helps me a lot

"the bar is going to change people's lives the second they land on the actual bar" IM DEAD. PURE GOLD
Lol
wait why is that, im new to high jump, is the bar hard when you land on it or something.
@@kuri5943 it hurts like hell😭 I still got a mark on my back from it
@@youtubenayy6354wait so if u hit ur max height when ur learning ur bound to hit anyway then aren’t you
@@kuri5943the bar is very dense plastic and it can leave a nasty bruise when you land on it. It makes your back feel tight in that area as well

Running in circles @ :20, how do you know how big/small the circle? GREAT VID!
The shaper the circle the stronger the ankles.. base it on your demographic
