DanDaDan is the first manga I've ever read and it really is fun. I hate and love that DanDaDan is so popular because it's hard to tell who is saying it's great because it is and who is saying it's great because it's popular. Generally I don't tend to be in love with the most popular things and find a lot of that stuff way over hyped but DanDaDan at least for now truly is something different in a good way. There is 1 fight which involves 2 humans possessed by yokai 2 aliens their UFO 2 people with supernatural powers a priest a giant monster a natural disaster and a mini cult and living statue (to keep things a little vague). None of that stuff should work in a single scene yet it does and it's fun and funny. Loving this show and manga and story. Hoping it doesn't mess up
Heavy on Granny Seiko being a baddie for no reason. But for real Dandadan is actually a breath of fresh air I hope we get to see more random yet eventful and exciting animes like this more often. Doesn't even have to be random, just be different.
Dandadan feels like a gen z fever dream, it has an absurd, weird and creepy plot and world, but through it all the relationships between the characters are so genuine and authentic, it gives you the warm fuzzies
Fun fact: the 2 protagonists that you mentioned from My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer have the same seiyuu (the original voice actor), which is also the same guy that voices Okarun, yet with Okarun you can hear some subtle differences in his voice compared to Tanjiro and Deku.
As someone who is a very surface level fan of anime (Naruto, jjk, demon slayer, and not many more) I did not expect to love Dandadan as I have been
