Thank you for this. This was the best review method I’ve seen so far….and I’ve been researching this for months. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I truly appreciate it. ❤️
Hello Michael, I am currently starting my CPA Journey with FAR as well. However I was wondering if you could show or explain what you decided what was important information and super important information. I tend to write down more than what is needed so an example of how you set up your notebook would be very helpful.
I actually end up making more notes considering everything is important. So I stopped taking notes. I started with FAR from becker material. This video is really helpful for taking my exam. As I am planning to give my exam in March End.
I'm studying full time and managed to fail BEC and REG, so clearly what I'm doing isn't working. Thank you so much for making this I was immensely frustrated. I'm actually reading thru Galatians right now and seeing your quote at the end was a total God thing!! Shooting to take Audit December 10th!

I'm about to start with your method Michael, it sounds pretty solid to me. Planning to pass Far this March with it + the Roger review course (cheaper, what can I say?). Michael, you’re awesome! Thanks for sharing your tips. I’m done with FAR and am attempting to study and pass REG in 4 weeks and I hope I can using your tips :)
Michael Humphrey, first off congratulations on passing the CPA exam. Also, thank you for posting this video as I believe this information will be extremely beneficial to me on my journey. Unfortunately, I have to mention that the "your" in the review week should be"you're" (as in you are). I hate to be that person but I just thought I'd mention it as you may not be aware.
Hello have you hard of Mr James he's an expert who help with some question and answers which you will study and will be ask on your exam day i will advice you to reach him now for more information
See the thing I didn't do was ignore the small detailed things, I wanted to learn EVERYTHING because I didn't want to get thrown curveballs, and they messed me up because it took forever for me to understand stuff and I felt like I wasn't learning. Good video! Subbed! I just took audit and I'm not feeling too good about it, but thanks for the tips. :)
Also, congrats on passing with 97's, that's LIT. Did you win the award (I forgot what it's called but don't you get like $20k bonus or something haha?)
I totally understand that. Details can be important but sometimes you have to step back and see the bigger picture. I hope you passed, and good luck on the rest of them! I haven’t had any one reach out about the award yet so I’m not totally sure, but thank you!
Thanks for the Video Micheal, I am 38 and have a full time job. DOING 4 hours is the maximum I can spend per day. Can you suggest how I can dedicate my time better and take up the exams??
Thank you very much and I understand! If I was working full time, I’d try to do a least a section a week. I would also review more often since it cannot be compressed as much. Easier said than done for sure!
On my first attempt of the CPA FAR section, I scored only a 46, and I was terribly disappointed. I have my retest on January 7, 2021, and I still have trouble with answering many of the MCQs correctly on practice tests. I have been taking detailed notes on the explanations in the Becker Review Course, which helps a lot with understanding the concepts more clearly.

Hi Michael, I am not sure you would remember me from school, but I randomly stumbled upon this video and WOW! Congratulations on your success with the CPA exams; you definitely deserve it! It is motivating to hear about your experience with the exams and your study method, as I am struggling with the drive and discipline these exams require. I hope you are doing well and enjoying life since kicking butt on these exams!
Yes of course I remember you! Thank you for commenting! I can certainly understand not being motivated, it’s just not fun haha. But I know for a fact you can do it...Let me know if you need anything!
Hey man! This video is super informative... Thanks. Did you get the Elijah Watt Sells award? Also, I am very scared to even start FAR looking at its volume. So would you recommend to start with the subject that we feel more confident about?
Really helpful video and congrats on passing so fast! When you say practice tests on the three days before the exam, do you mean the three Mock Exams Becker provides or did you create your own PTs? Thanks!
Yes, I was referring to the mock exams. Becker recently changed the names on all those. Then each week I would create two practice tests to keep reviewing and adding the material together. My philosophy is the more you review during, the more you’ll understand, the better you’ll perform, and less you review at the end.
""...,for at a proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."" Wow and yep. Just readying for my life's masterpiece after the army and college days. Whew
Congrats! a well-deserved victory!!! The first time I watched your video, I was astonished and speechless. Thank you so much for sharing your study tips. I look forward to seeing more videos if you feel like talking about each exam experience especially Audit. Take care :)
Please help me with this question: Whatever review course you used. I see that some offer video classes (extra $$). If you did, were they useful to you, or textbooks, your notes, and MCQ's are sufficient? Thank you.
Hi Michael, I really have enjoyed watching your video. Congratulations on getting this over with and moving on. Thanks to your advise, I want to try to take these exams and do each one within a 6 to 8 week window. I am going to follow the strategy about reviewing everything, but instead of Saturdays I am going to do it Sundays. Here is a question for you. How much of a believer are you in not taking a day off? In my original CPA plan I wanted to take 3 months and a half on the first part and take Fridays off to really learn the material, but your process is fast and efficient. Also, about how many hours did you study per day during the week? I work full time and I am.shooting between 3 and 4 don't know if that will work out, but hopefully it does. The other thing I am going to follow is instead of reviewing for 2 weeks, I will stick it with 1 week although I may add a day or two more of reviewing and a practice exam. Oh and another question. Ok, you mention reviewing notes everyday. Does this happen at the end of the study session? Its going to be interesting to lay this all out in my case. In my course, REG is 6 chapters. I may be able to pull off most chapters 1 week each maybe with one chapter I will do 2. I know Becker is 8, but all the providers are different. Thank you for your motivation to all the viewers. I will try my best to follow your method as much as I can. The only slight difference is that I'll do a couple more weeks than you did. I am.shooting for 7 total, I am starting out with REG because that is the one part where its all unrelated to the others and then moving on to FAR. Then finally, the review course is different, but I am sure that I can do your method. Lastly, did you ever consider doing a supplemental test bank from a competitor of Becker's? If not, would you recommend it or it all depends on the candidate in your opinion? Thank you again.
Hey Raul thanks for reaching out. It may sound crazy but I don’t recommend taking lots of days off. I took 4 days off in 4 months. Sometimes they really are necessary, but not a regular part of what I did. Of course some weekend days I might review for only 1-3 hours, but I rarely took a whole day off. I also wasn’t working FT though, so taking Fridays off sounds very fair and reasonable in your case. At first, I studied around 6-8 hours on days I wasn’t working. But I built up to around 10-12 with Saturdays and Sunday’s generally lighter, until the end. When I was in the thick of working and studying, most days I started studying at 6:45 am and ended at 9 pm. With work, eating, and working out in between. I do not recommend taking 3 months on one section, if possible. You’ll spend way more time reviewing than actually going through the material, and you will absolutely forget stuff you’ve gone through. 3-4 hours while working is great. If able, do some before work so you’re fresh. Try to hit at least a section a week with constant review included. It’s not fun, so you don’t want this prolonged. Yes. I reviewed everyday after a break from the study session. This allows you to take a step back, cement the ideas, and see the bigger picture again and what matters. It doesn’t take long and you can sleep on the ideas and learn them. I never considered a supplemental test bank. Becker already has way too many questions that waste time, although I did do them all. Hope this helps.
Hi Michael, Thank you for your response. I plan on following your advises. My slight concern that I am having is how to implement 2 of the review courses that I have. I didn't go with Becker because they don't teach with the white board which I learn best. The downfall of the one which I learn best is that they aren't believers in multiple choice while there is another one which is but isnt good at teaching. I have thought about doing an hr each day of questions with this one that has a larger test bank, then I think that maybe doing lectures in the morning and then questions at night with other course could work out better, and finally i have also thought of doing 1 of them for just a couple of hours in the weekend. If I feel that it doesn't work I will just focus on one and see what happens. Regardless, I plan in following your game plan. Hopefully I can get started this weekend. If you can think of an idea that I can do in my case, please let me know and I can consider it. Will appreciate.
Hi Michael, I am extremely impressed with your detailed video it is great. I am preparing for FAR and I will definitely apply this into my routine. Can you please guide me if I can get any online lectures on FAR? Or any online tutor?
Thanks for posting this video. I am going to start studying for FAR next week :) my only other question is- approx. how many hours did you study per day/week? thank you!
How well did you do in college as a clouting major? feel like its a big factor since its all about what you learn and the review for the CPA is building on what you retained from your college years
This is an outstanding and very helpful video. I am on the verge of trying to finally get back to studying and get the CPA done, finally, and I was looking for something that would outline a study method or protocol that I could follow. Your video is one of the few that I've found that does this! I have not yet started and am working on a plan that finally see me through this monster of an exam (four of them) successfully. How do you recommend modifying things for someone (like me) who works full-time (50+ hours most weeks)? Should I aim for 1.5 sections per week, maybe? Love the Bible verse you gave at the end, too. I'm going to write that down so I can see it at the start of every study session.
That’s what I was going for. I hope it helps! I would shoot for 1 section a week with that amount of work, anything above that would be great. As long as you keep reviewing along the way, I think it’ll work great. That verse definitely kept me going. Gotta find something to motivate us and push us through cause it just isn’t that fun haha.
Thank you for your video. I have a question if you could please answer what you think I should do. I am am going part-time for the summer (30 hours a week) at my public firm to get more studying in before audit season. I have failed FAR twice, and I want to pass this time, and I am scared that I won't have the concepts down and/or mesmerize answers if I try to rush and get two sections a week, but I feel myself losing what I just learned. I am implementing reviewing every week and I have done this for two weeks now. I don't know if I should push to cover more, since I see my scores are low in prior sections or should I move on and review those topics later?
Obviously CPA exam has been a pain in my butt that won't bother me any longer I have gotten my license already thanks to you Mr Dylan God bless you more cuz you made it possible for me

I'm so glad for you and I'm proud of how you love God. Your Bible quotation is great. I will use your pieces if advice to write my CPA. Thanks a lot.
Good vid! Like how you closed with Galatians. Thanks!
Great work! Congratulations and thanks for the advice. Greatly appreciated 😊
No problem! Hope it helps and good luck.
Thanks for these practical tips and I will be using most of them! Liked the verse as well.
Thank you. I hope it helps!
What a great testimony at the end of your video! I admire your so much for giving credit to God for your success. I wish I could subscribe multiple times!
Thank you for this. This was the best review method I’ve seen so far….and I’ve been researching this for months. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I truly appreciate it. ❤️
You're an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Keep it up!
Hello Michael, I am currently starting my CPA Journey with FAR as well. However I was wondering if you could show or explain what you decided what was important information and super important information. I tend to write down more than what is needed so an example of how you set up your notebook would be very helpful.
Same concern.
I'm wondering too.
I’m so sorry to hear about bec and reg. They’re hard tests so don’t get too down! Hopefully these tips can help! And that’s awesome, I don’t think just a coincidence. Do not grow weary! Good luck!
Good luck on your exam Liza!! I'm taking FAR around the same time
@@DeontreM best of luck!! It's such a pain doing all this around the holidays

I'm about to start with your method Michael, it sounds pretty solid to me. Planning to pass Far this March with it + the Roger review course (cheaper, what can I say?). I love the Galatians quote at the end, I'd never heard it before but I've definitely heard variations of it in the business world. - Bob
The best thing I liked about the video was the verse he concluded with.
The mental endurance piece is so important. By hour 3 im so exhausted taking the test.
Michael, you’re awesome! Thanks for sharing your tips. I’m done with FAR and am attempting to study and pass REG in 4 weeks and I hope I can using your tips :)
That’s awesome! Congrats on passing!
Did you pass!?
@@user-xy2ly4uz6p Yep! Got done with all 4 by 2/25 and got my final passing score on 3/10 :)
Thank you brother! Much love from Canada
Can you make a video for 2021 cpa exam preparation?
Michael Humphrey, first off congratulations on passing the CPA exam. Also, thank you for posting this video as I believe this information will be extremely beneficial to me on my journey. Unfortunately, I have to mention that the "your" in the review week should be"you're" (as in you are). I hate to be that person but I just thought I'd mention it as you may not be aware.
FYI his method also works superbly well with online accounting courses

Thank you so much for these practical methods. It is so helpful. God bless you!
Thank you! Good luck!
I will try this method. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you thank you so much. Indeed it's great help. May god bless you!!!
Great tips. Thank you for sharing this information.
Thank you so much for sharing your tips. It's very helpful. God bless you!
Love this approach. Thanks!
Thank you!! I am feeling very hopeful that your studying method will work out for me, seems very efficient. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Bianca, were you able to pass the exams using this method?
Thanks for sharing your experience. Congrats by the way.😊
Thank you! Good luck to you!
This video was very helpful. Thanks for posting.
But first quit your job and study full time 😏
I am doing the same full-time study that's what I would recommend.
Overall i think you are a genious. congratuation of you amazing perfomance
Thanks for the Video Micheal, I am 38 and have a full time job. DOING 4 hours is the maximum I can spend per day. Can you suggest how I can dedicate my time better and take up the exams??
This man a different breed.
Such a great video! Compress and review, repeat.
Wish you had a full time employee version lol
Thank you very much and I understand! If I was working full time, I’d try to do a least a section a week. I would also review more often since it cannot be compressed as much. Easier said than done for sure!
I'm from NY. I take FAR (1st part) on Nov 11th. About to start studying. I work 35 hrs/week
Good luck to you!
@@michaelhumphrey4567 Thanks!
I'm from NY too and I'm studying for FAR now but taking it early next year,

Thank you for this video- Could you make a video of what you think is super important to take notes on
On my first attempt of the CPA FAR section, I scored only a 46, and I was terribly disappointed. I have my retest on January 7, 2021, and I still have trouble with answering many of the MCQs correctly on practice tests. I have been taking detailed notes on the explanations in the Becker Review Course, which helps a lot with understanding the concepts more clearly.

Great tips Michael!
Awesome video, pls make more videos on cpa study strategy exam etc.
Whew
Thank you Michael. One of the most helpful and to the point videos I have seen as of yet!
That’s what I was going for! Thank you and good luck!
Congrats! a well-deserved victory!!! The first time I watched your video, I was astonished and speechless. Thank you so much for sharing your study tips. I look forward to seeing more videos if you feel like talking about each exam experience especially Audit. Take care :)
Thank you very much! I may make some more. I was pretty consistent with this approach with every exam!
Please help me with this question: Whatever review course you used. I see that some offer video classes (extra $$). If you did, were they useful to you, or textbooks, your notes, and MCQ's are sufficient? Thank you.
Hi! Great video Michael :) Did you do the final review with Becker btw?
I did not do any of the final review from Becker. I just used my own notes
Could you upload a video on the benefits of master of Professional Accounting in terms of CPA please?

Wow .. I never knew some other people know about this man
Hi Michael,
I am extremely impressed with your detailed video it is great. I am preparing for FAR and I will definitely apply this into my routine. Can you please guide me if I can get any online lectures on FAR? Or any online tutor?
Great advice!
So u won Elijah watt sells award
Hi Michael! Congrats! I really like your video. do you usually do M/C after each module or do it all after you finish one section?
I attempted all multiple choice after each module, and whichever ones I missed I would go back and finish after the entire section.
@@michaelhumphrey4567you mean redo all incorrect questions after entire section?
Yes that’s correct. If I missed a question I left it and I went back at the end of the section and made sure I got it right for each module.
Damn bro, good job! 👏👏
Were you an Elijah Watts award candidate ?
Hello am frm Phil really love to review and pass CPA
Any tips for sims? I feel like I am struggling on sims more than anything else because I find the application to be challenging
Thank you very much for your tips.
No problem! Good luck!
