Good info ! I'm using Becker now studying for FAR and I'm the same way I hate those SIMS. I do them on days I have the most energy which are the weekends.
4:02 if you referenced your notes while taking MCQs how did you know that you actually knew the material. I would get 90% correct if I looked at my notes.
Well I would try my best to not use my notes. And if I was using my notes it was an indicator that I wasn't 100% comfortable with the content yet. So just judging how I feel with it was the way i determined it.
Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard, if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Willard.
@br33anoia4321 I have been searching for your page all day. Thank you for asking. I didn't get 75. But I have jumped back on the horse after assessing why I didn't pass. I am disappointed because I had studied harder this go around. Not well enough. Took auditing over five years ago and gave up when I didn't pass. When I first took auditing, I had seen some recycled questions. This time, no such luck. It seems my foundational knowledge of auditing is weak. Do you have any suggestions about how to strengthen my auditing foundational knowledge? Thank you so much.
@JoeyCPA There is a definite causation and correlation between graduation and passing the exam. If everyone who goes into accounting is expected to be licensed then colleges and universities should only teach to pass the exam.
Hi joey. Thanks for your inputs. However there’s a slight doubt which arises when you say you watched the lectures. Now that it is concept videos. Is it the same or would it be sufficient that we listen to concept videos as you did with lectures. Thank you
Hey! Yes I kinda used the word lecture and concept video interchangeably. I'd still recommend watching them and taking notes just like I did with the lectures.
It depends on how much time you want to spend studying but for me, I would do a couple modules each day and also review some older modules. This might take 3-4 hours of studying but that was what I was ok with.
Hello i am an international student. I want to be a cpa a and i want to know which major and if there are extra courses i should take. I am applying for community college in kansas and i am a bit lost so i need your help. I thought of getting an associate degree in 2 years and then applying for university.
Hi, just a quick question. I learned some basic accounting in college, but not much compared to an accounting student. I’m planning to take the CPA exam in the next two years. Should I start Becker immediately or find more basic accounting books/ courses to advance my knowledge first? I don't know whether Becker is more advanced for me or if I can start from Becker. I am stuck about this since Becker is such a significant investment. I really appreciate your response!
Hi! Currently studying for the CPA using the Becker free trial and with Becker it’s information overload. They intentionally overload you with information so that’s it’s easier than the CPA. I definitely recommend to try the free trial and get a feel but it’s definitely gonna feel overwhelming at first lol. Just need lots of practice!
@@karis1128 Yup, I 100% agree with this. Becker would be a good resource but I understand it is a large investment. If you're interested, I created a CPA review supplement which has great content and is far more affordable than Becker. You can check it out at smartercpasreviews.com. The other thing to consider is to make sure you're even eligible to sit for the CPA Exam. Check your state requirements to find out.
You probably won't be eligible for the CPA. In my state, you need so many accounting credit hours and so many business credit hours. If you only took a few courses then you probably won't be eligible.
Hey! That's all personal preference really. Some people do the exams back to back to back. And some people take a couple months off. My advice would be to get them all done w ASAP as I know some people who take time off in between sessions and never get back into it again. But you know yourself best.
so you can buy a full review course from Becker CPA review. But it is expensive. there are cheaper options like universal CPA review though. And I even have my own CPA review supplement on smartercpasreviews.com if you want to check it out. In general, there are a lot of options, you just need to find the right one for you.
Would you say finish one chapter for 5 days ( M-F ) for about 2 hours including taking notes then on the weekends ( Sat and Sun) review notes, practice MCQs, do SIMs is a good strategy or that would take too much of my time?
Hey, I would say that you shouldn't necessarily put a time frame of 2 hours per chapter bc some will be faster and some might be slower. I would just say maybe spend 2 hours moving forward in the course every day and then 30 mins -1 hr reviewing previous material each day. I don't think your plan is bad but that's the change i would make. Also, I created a study plan that consists of 2.5 hours of study per day, 1 rest day per week, and will get you through the review course in less than 2 months (For FAR with Becker). You can check it out here if you're interested. www.smartercpasreviews.com/the-perfect-squeeze-page
Obviously is gonna be difficult,it was hell for me as a single mom but that won’t bother me anymore I have gotten my license already thanks to you Mr Dylan God bless you more cuz you made it possible for me
@@rekzwinnie7482 Yes, that would be sufficient but you will just have a higher workload each day than if you took a bit longer. But yes certainly a reasonable time frame to get it done.
I would say 2-3 hour is definetly a solid amount. Some days may be more some days may be less. But it also depends on how quickly you want to sit for the exam? If you want to take it in 4 weeks you will have to do more than 2-3 hours a day. But if you want to take it in 4 months you can study a bit less every day.

I wouldn't spend too much time on it. I think 20 minutes is a good amount. Reading is not the most effective study method so as long as you're not doing it for too much more than 20 mins im sure its good
Hi Joey, Thank you for making this video. If I want to find out the correct answers to some of the questions that were tested on the exam, who should I reach out to? I'm dying to know the answers, but Becker doesn't answer the questions that are not included in their course.
Hey, tbh I have no idea. I'm not sure if you can find that anywhere. I'm impressed you remember the questions. I always blacked out during the exams lol
Obviously CPA exam has been a pain in my butt that won't bother me any longer I have gotten my license already thanks to you Mr Dylan God bless you more cuz you made it possible for me
I spent some time not working, some time part time working, and some of the time full time working. So a bit of everything. It's obviously easiest if you're not working but definitely still manageable when you are working.
I took a total of 18 months from when i started studying to finishing. I took some breaks in between each exam. And I took this long for each exam: FAR- 6 months(super overkill, did not need that much time) AUD- 3 months (normal length, maybe a bit long) REG- 2 months BEC- 3 months
