    One more thing different about Harbinger from other Necromancer specs is that it can go into shroud even though it has zero life force, a nice bit of information if you need to go into shroud wherein such occasion arise.

    What about Nightmare runes? Im using nightmare runes on my condi scourge build.

    • @connorconcarne
      @connorconcarne  10 місяців тому

      Nightmare would have worked just fine before the expansion. Trapper Runes are where it's at post SotO.

    i like pvp in mmo and iam new to this game , today is my 4th day, i like mages , rangers in mmo, so i decided to necro , but i don't know which one is the best for max high mdg, is it reaper or harbinger or scourage?

    • @connorconcarne
      @connorconcarne  10 місяців тому +1

      Damage works a bit differently in Guild Wars 2 compared to what you might be used to. You have either Power Damage (Reaper) or Condition Damage (Scourge or Harbinger). Condition Damage being damage over time and Power Damage being strike damage. Scourge and Harbinger would be the highest "magic damage" choices for you. Harbinger in particular is excellent in PVP.

    I think power necro is too good to pass up on this. Low survivial means you rely on teammates more. Just my preference, power necro all the way.

    It is weird no WvW builds for harbi, which are also good. If you want survivability AND huge condi damage at the same time I mean.

    • @connorconcarne
      @connorconcarne  10 місяців тому +1

      Harbinger actually has an excellent Celestial Condition Damage Roaming build. I don't do a lot of WvW but I've run that a fair bit and it's fantastic.

    Both condi necro's are high on drugs rn. You don't even need concentration to be able to share boons.

    • @connorconcarne
      @connorconcarne  11 місяців тому +1

      Seems to be the way a lot of boon supports are going right now. Herald is an even more stark example of this. 40% boon duration in full zerker gear.

    • @DemethVLK
      @DemethVLK 11 місяців тому

      I think harbinger's focus is massive DPS and quickness, poor boon sharing. They want to diversify, I think, between raw dps, dps with little boon support, 50/50 dps with massive boon support, massive healers with little boon, and 50/50 healer/buffer.

    Why bother with condi dps harbringer now?
    Scourge is easier and does more dps doesn't it?

    • @DemethVLK
      @DemethVLK 11 місяців тому +16

      I know it can be baffling but people play things because they like them, not because of a benchmark. I'll give you some time to recover from this information :P

    • @SheenaMalfoy

      @@bubby7250 Harbinger has a lot of mobility from its shroud, whereas Scourge works well from range and has a solid chunk of built-in condi cleanse. It will depend on what encounters you're running, and whether you're moving in and out a lot (example: Whisper of Jormag) or whether a fight encourages staying at range for extended periods of time (example: Ankka). Harbinger also naturally patches up shoddy pug boon uptime, where Scourge does not. Where both have solid ranged dps there is no "wrong" option, simply a good vs a great one.

      Depends RP scenario (like, really depends). Also, I often change infusions on both builds to win Fashionwars.

    • @connorconcarne
      @connorconcarne  11 місяців тому +4

      Scourge definitely got 'over-buffed' after the last patch. I would not expect it to remain with as high a DPS benchmark for much longer (Anet could surprise me though). The main reasons I'd take Harbinger over Scourge would be the increased mobility, access to more CC (Pistol 3, Shroud 4 and 5) and the ability to patch up boons for your team. With just taking Twisted Medicine you can cover 40% quickness for your team and make Elixir of Ambition affect everyone. Scourge needs to make more significant chances to its gear to provide usable Alacrity.
