- Chronomancer has been my go-to support build in Guild Wars 2 for the last few months. This is easily the single most flexible build in the entire game. With a single trait change you go from providing Quickness, to Alacrity to pumping on an outstanding DPS build. No gear change required.

Fantastic guide, this really makes chrono way less intimidating. Super appreciated the rotation breakdown as well, slowed down, icons on the screen and details about what's happening and when you'd use things. Thank you!
Regarding when to use Continuum Split (CS) after the opener: It is helpful to think of CS as more of a thing. Usually you'd want that thing to be damage, but in certain fights (or with certain underperforming teams), you might want the thing to be more CC.
For a simple way of squeezing out damage with CS, based on the setup in the video, you have 2 good options. If either is available when CS comes off cooldown, then take a break from your rotation to do it.
- Signet of the Ether
Use your phantasms, CS during the cast, reset with the signet, recast phantasms, end CS and do it again
- 2 Wells
Cast both wells, CS during the cast of the first one, then end CS and do it again
Use weapon skill 2 and shatters as well if you can get away with it, but there's likely little need for a full 3 clone CS.
Squeezing out more CC just means using CS on GS5, Sword4, or your elite

Thank you so much! On impulse yesterday, I hopped on a hero point train and filled out the chrono trait line. After playing Virtuoso for the past couple of years, it’s a whole new world! Very concise explanations and I can’t wait to get out there in open world and play. Luckily GS, dagger, and sword are not new to me so learning the new utilities and traits are the biggest challenges. Will be fun! (Hug)

Well that's super-useful with the full gear breakdown and rotations. And zero boon duration! I've been doing it wrong; time to get the upgrade extractors out and tinker myself that 75% crit chance...

Take caution with GS3! It cancels all skills except healing mantra (which also cancels, but this happens more rarely imo)
So pay close attention to the cast bar of the other skills, especially GS4.
When the cooldown is only 4 sec instead 5/12 respectively, you have cancelled the skill mid cast

A tempting one indeed as my Chrono runs Sceptre/Sword already - I just have to make her a Leftie 'duellist' instead by plonking the Dagger in the Main Hand :) My Second Weapon Set is Sceptre/Shield so I might be able to mash a Boon/Heal combo together :D

with so many [almost constantly used] boon removal abilities would it make sense to use the *relic of nourys* ? would it result in even more damage (plus receiving less damage and all the other effects) compared to the relic of the thief?

Hey great guide! Trying myself on the full opener now and im a little confused:
when you describe the continuum split you say to squeeze all the skills in, but neither phantasmal disenchanter nor gravity well seem to be reset by it in the video. Is that how it is supposed to be? If its fine like that I wonder why it has to be squeezed into the CS-window?
Also the Burst Combo described on GuildJen is a little different, are they a matter of preference or is the one on GuildJen the updated version?
I noticed some difference between your build and the build on the link. Which is recommended, Assassin or Berserker for weapons?
Which better or easier, gear using gs+ dagger sword or dagger sword/focus ?

Ty for the guide! I was wondering if i dont have full legendary/ascendance pieces for this build is it still playable with exotic gear? Sould i focus on getting up my crit to 75% to start with(assasin stst) and then go for more dps(zerk) gear? If you wanted to play this build but didnt have the leg/ascendance gear how would you gear it?
You're very welcome! If you don't have full ascended I'd recommend just keeping the same gear stats (mix of Berserker and Assassin) and just use a sigil of accuracy instead of impact. That makes it very easy to swap in ascended gear as you get it. That should cover for the missing crit chance you get from running exotic.

Is it worth trying to make this work with exotic gear? I don't have legendary and ascended is a significant investment.
You're very welcome. You could make the build work with exotic gear. You may just need to add in some extra assassin's pieces to hit 75% crit without fury (or a Signet of Accuracy). Then you can upgrade to ascended from there.
I need some help!
Many guides talk aboout daggers on a chronomancer. In game it says I can equip daggers only on a virtuoso. I can't seem to equip daggers. How do people do it?
You need to have the Secret of the Obscure expansion. You unlock Weaponmaster Training very early on in the story for that expansion. Once you have that then you can equip dagger. Mainhand sword is your next best option in the meantime.

You can more or less use this rotation. Full Power Chronomancer will have different utility skills but the rotation will be structured very similarly.
question , does having 2470+(i have 2396) precision still matters if im already getting 100 crit chance(with food buffs and utility)?
also my gears are full berserker weapons and armors except 2 accessory and amulet

I've been maining boonshare chrono support ever since signet of inspiration was godly and shared all boons with the party letting you have all boons be permanent basically.
But back then, my goal was simply to stay alive and give out boons and keep them up as long as possible. Obviously over time they've continuously nerfed it over and over and I've had to adapt. So right now I'm using diviner stats (power, prec, feroc, concent) still with sig of inspiration and 2 utility phantasms with Time Warp. I guess I'm still in the mindset of "Gotta give as much alac/quickness uptime as possible and make it last as long as possible".
Never really occurred to me I didn't need any concentration nor sig of inspi and still keep up boons? Cause I focus on alac and figure having it last a long time even after fights would be nice for the parties longer CD skills.
I've slowly been moving out of the support realm and more into DPS so maybe this build is my next step.
Quick question on the gear... How much Crit do I need reach before consumables? 70?
With food you need 75% which is 2470 precision. If you take the gear from the Video, you need to get 2470 precision.
If you take the gear from snowcrows which Takes +70 precision food, you need to get 2400 precision to crit Cat with Fury and food

what can I use instead of main hand dagger ?
Mainhand sword is a good option if you don't have access to dagger.
Excuse me, what is the source of healing in this build?
On this build, it's basically only Signet of the Ether. Make sure to dodge, position yourself well and use Distortion to avoid damage.
I like to have mirror images over well of calamity so i can easily create 3 clones at opening without using phantasm before continuum split
This lets me cast 2 phantasms then use signet then cast another 2 phantasms come out of continuum split then cast another 4 phantasms
How does that work with weapon swap on cd?

i use my weapon phantasm then illusionary disenchanter
then signet of ether and repeat
then once im out of continuum split i do it again and then swap weapons to cast another phantasm
the timing to cast 4 phantasms in continuum split is tight tho
@@thatpancakeguy99 Oh okay, that makes sense I misunderstood you. Yeah t''s a bit tight but with a cs shattered with 3 clones it's more than doable.
Neat idea to run Mirror Images to help with the rapid clone generation. Will need to give that a shot soon :)
How viable is this build for Open World?
This build is absolutely amazing for Open World. Any build that grants you boons is great in that area of the game. You could even run the Alac version of this build with Relic of the Chronomancer which would grant you Quickness when you use your wells. So then at least you could provide Quickness + Alacrity to yourself.
I like the build..but i still end up runing full viper condi aclarity dps xD, double staff, i quite like the staff...im aware mirage isn't as good as chorno
But ..staff mirage fun 😅
Always down for suggestions to improve the build, i just run all vipers and 2 staffs with dodge regen on weapon swap for more clones
Glad you're enjoying Staff Mirage. I've loved playing it in the past as well and it's still a pretty good Alacrity build.
how do i keep up quickness or alacrity?
With either the trait stretched time or seize the moment (depending on what boon you want) you summon phantasms and shatter to provide your boons.
@@connorconcarne excellent! Unfortunately, each time that I do that the boon duration is extremely short. For instance, with the quickness trait line selection without boon duration or concentration added on? It gives you 1 and a 3 second generation of quickness. For some reason I'm only getting one so I was wondering what might I be doing wrong even though I'm generating illusions through my sword skills and shattering them once I hit three. It's not generating consistent boon generation

@@Theuubestofbuus you do need to be a bit speedy on the rotation to keep up quickness. Once you build up a buffer you can relax a bit. Maybe add a sigil of concentration and some boon duration food to give yourself a bit of leeway while you're learning it. I like to run Phantasmal Disenchanter which will give you a few extra seconds of boons as well.
@@connorconcarne going thru same pains. I am sure it is just learning the rotation as you stated. To help understand better, do you need to be constantly hitting the f skills and phantasmal disenchanter? Just spread out hitting them every second? Along with hitting f skills no matter how many clones I have or is it important to wait for 3 clones?
Edit: Okay, I started this while arcdps was down. It got updated (shout out to arcdps for working hard and keeping this tool updated) so I was able to monitor boon uptime a lot better. I found out I still sucked at it. I started looking into build. I found out I didn't not fully understand phantasms and this is a HUGE part of the process. I did not realize they turned into clones. I know, how to say you are a newbie Mesmer with out saying it, lol. With that piece of knowledge makes sword 5 and GS 4 HUGE. I knew they were in the rotation but understanding them helps a lot. With that and some small tweaks, I was able to rock a 97% uptime of alac on the training golem.
Next up for me Healer/Boon Chrono (I'll see if you got one but Teapot put out Minstrel Chrono is back video that was pretty good) :) Thanks for the video, you put out some great build guides.
How come your your gear isn't the Saphir's?
Potentially because I have Legendary gear so you don't see the stat prefix (Saphir's for Assassin's).
With that build, how does he have 20k HP?
It should be just regular Chronomancer with a Tier 10 Jade Bot Core + the Reinforced Armor buff.
I tried the rotataion but i cant perma quickness. How to do it?
You might need to do the rotation faster. Can also add in some extra boon duration of phantasms (utility skills) to help upkeep boons if you're struggling

Who still cares about fucking Deimos lmao? Might as well do Claw of Jormag at this point. There is no relevant content to play these shiny new builds in.
Old and abandoned, sure. But as long as Anet keep the LI route to legendary armor open raids will always have some meaning to doing that content. Since we're still waiting for 2024's SOTO open world legendary armor and all.
What kills me is that for new players there is no way you can get there. You're always quicked out and there is sooo little opportunities for training. Even guilds don't do training sessions much anymore so the chance to get a leggy armr is a dream for new players.
