    I’m from Japan.
My father, grandfather worked for Mitsubishi Corporation (NOT motors)
So Usually, my home cars were only Mitsubishis and I hated that.
Because you can support the whole Mitsubishi group and can have some discount too.
I remember the first time my dad bought was Mazda Savanna Rx-7, then Toyota Prius.I ask my dad
“where did your loyalty for Mitsubishi go?”
He said “If there’s a choice in Mitsubishi lineup in sports car or hybrid genre I would’ve bought them, but Mitsubishi motors doesn’t .They are not acquit one's obligation as a family car developer.”
I recognize Mitsubishi motors was done

*So Always* our family cars were Ford. It wasn't so bad. A new Lincoln and a new Mustang every year. I learned to drive in a Turbocharged Mustang Pace Car.
My brother was the first to break the rule...with a Mitsubishi (kind of ... an Eagle Talon). Eventually I got a Mitsubishi as well (kind of ... a "Dodge Ram" 2.0L Mitsubishi)

Be happy you stepped away, most used ones are rust buckets and electrical nightmares.
You find are a rare nice one, sub 75k miles I’m sure it’ll spring a harness or electrical issue in 2-3 years.
The only way to enjoy a 4g63 is by gutting the conveniences. You can buy an eco boost and have air conditioning if your destiny is having a fun turbo car.
I owned Mistus since I started driving, I can honestly say they were very consumer friendly cars and I can’t understand the hype. The 3000gt active aero was the only true sports car mitsu released.
Eclipse was the 2 seater rage of the late 90s and the evo was really just a mass produced rally car, and Subarus competitor.
Rally has been in a popularity decline since the early 2010s.
Mistubishi really messed up not kitting out the top model evolutions with true off road suspension, and wide low psi tires. They were a gimmick from the very beginning which could have replaced a small suv/truck for off-road capability/snow.

I am literally a lifelong Mitsubishi fan. My dad worked for them since before I was born. Even though I was his son who graduated IT, I was the one amongst my brothers who experienced building trucks with them when I worked a short stint with them. Lots of the factory workers in my country still fancy the Eclipse, the Pajero, we're even proud of the diesel engines we used on the L300 light truck that has always been the de-facto name businesses think of when purchasing vehicles for businesses that don't necessarily need a heavy truck to haul stuff.
I've worked with a lot of Japanese expats as well, who are the most dedicated to their craft in terms of manufacturing. To me, Mitsubishi Motors is well loved, but has the suckiest internal politics that I ever saw. A coworker of mine in the assembly line once said to me "The problem with Mitsubishi Motors is like the problem with the Philippines." (I'm Filipino BTW). Whoever killed off the Evo and the Eclipse will forever be vilified in my head. Maybe they could've created a newer version, take in the comments by the Evo bashers and improve it. I seriously feel like Kia and Hyundai left Mitsubishi in the dust with the Stinger and the Genesis Coupe. Right now, Mitsubishi doesn't have even an inline 4 engine in their cars.
If I won the lottery today, 4 models come to mind: Evo 3, GTO/3000GT, Starion Turbo, and 2nd generation Eclipse Spyder. Loved by fans but sadly discontinued by Mitsubishi.

I thought the video was going to talk about how garbage reliable their cars were, and eventually their reputation as building garbage cars that were too expensive, even if they had good performance eventually caught up with them, and people stopped caring... and that's what destroyed Mitsubishiti as a car company... i waited, and waited, and waited, but the video never talked about it. I've owned some from new, so I have personal experience. It was always a love hate relationship. No one cares for unreliable cars, regardless how great they could be when running. If no one will buy your cars, then you will not last. Mitsubishiti, and this videobishiti.

so im 14 and i love mitsubishi so i spent a while trying to make an improved MR platform for the evo in which i called it the MR-X Platform so here it is
    MR-X Advanced Platform:
    Lightweight Construction:
Extensive use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber reinforced composites, aluminum, and high-strength steel in the chassis and body to reduce overall weight.
Weight distribution adjusted to optimize the balance for superior handling.
    Mid-Engine Configuration:
A mid-mounted, high-performance engine, similar to the layout used in the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, offering a low center of gravity for improved stability and cornering.
    Suspension:
A fully adjustable suspension system, inspired by the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) setup, allowing for precise tuning to suit various driving conditions.
Double-wishbone or multi-link suspension at both the front and rear for enhanced grip and control.
    Active Aerodynamics:
An active aerodynamics system, similar to the one used in the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, to adjust the downforce and reduce drag as needed during high-speed rally stages.
    Drivetrain:
A rear-wheel-drive setup with a limited-slip differential for superior traction and agility, based on the MR configuration.
Optional torque vectoring system, inspired by Mitsubishi's All-Wheel Control (AWC), for precise power distribution to the rear wheels.
    Powerplant:
An advanced turbocharged engine, based on the Evolution series but further refined for higher output and efficiency.
Hybrid or electric powertrain options for a sustainable rally racing future.
    Transmission:
A high-performance sequential manual transmission, similar to those used in rally cars, for lightning-fast gear changes.
    Active Safety Systems:
Advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking, tailored for rally racing safety.
    Wheels and Tires:
Lightweight forged alloy wheels paired with rally-spec tires for maximum grip and durability.
    Interior:
    - A stripped-down, purpose-built rally interior with lightweight racing seats, harnesses, and a roll cage for safety.
    - A customizable digital dashboard and telemetry system for real-time performance monitoring.

I drive my '16 MX-5 GT everyday and it's my only car that has almost 100K miles on it now. I know it'll never be worth anything now because of that, but a car's entire value is more than just the monetary return it brings you, it's the joy and smile it puts on your face everytime you get into the thing to fire it up and drive it.
I feel bad for you but you gotta stretch her legs once in awhile and at least put on a few dozen miles. I'm assuming you at least start her once in awhile but cars will go to hell eventually if you don't put loads through all the components and get the bushings moving and oils circulating again.

This wasn’t because the 84-89 were all wheel drive, it was because everything was slightly changed. The engine was the same displacement, but a different block. The different block meant a different transmission case. The suspension was altered such that when I bent a front strut I had to scrounge to find a new 83 strut. The body changed as well, the 84-89 had flared fenders and looked sportier and had much better style than the 83.

Love my Evo 8... Bought it from my uncle few years ago. He owns a WRX STi Ver. 8 & the Evo 8 (which is now mine) I got the chance to test drive both WRX STi & the LanEvo 8. Both cars are good in their own perspective. But the Evo 8 caught my attention the most so I bought it. It's a cool car ngl. With clean pearl white paintjob with stock body kit but with BC Racing coilovers and a set of Kansei Tandem wheels. The stock bodykit looks on the Evo 8 itself is good enough for me.

Good video. The Evo is still in the hearts of masses. I've owned many Subaru's but none was ever an Evo. Watching all the car groups conversations over the years without bias... There is STILL a place for the Evo. Always will be. Even if it never returns. Sadly if it does it will be a difficult card to play as it will likely be electric some how. That's if Mitsubishi exist at all. Team Evoooooo!!!! ♥️

My first car in 2001 was a 92 eagle talon tsi awd which I still own. It was amazing to throw simple bolt ons and have an 11 sec 1/4 mile car. I now also own an evo 2 gsr. Mitsubishi was on next level stuff in the 90s. It’s a damn shame that now they have become the “no credit no problem” company.

Cool! One of the baddest tuners I've ever seen was a talon. 350hp lightened with subtle airo, it hunted muscle cars for fun around here for quite a few years. Cool

the sheer dedications of documentary and footages here has gone even more detailed to the roots and i frickin love it.
one note, the name's Colin McRae, not McRea.
i love mitsubishi rally cars, bit more than subies. aggressive styling and iconic red. it's really a shame now that even the ralliart namesake was pulled down to the mud and dirt of just another rim range of an electric suv.

The Evo was my first favourite car. It wasn’t too flashy, or too mean, it wasn’t egotistical. Just an honest work horse that you could count on. You know you’re really the GOAT of GOATs if you give the competition years to catch up as you freeze major upgrades, and yet the competition still falls short. I was too young to ever have the opportunity to enjoy it, but if it ever returns in a legit way, I will be the first in line.

It's 10/10 honestly as always your narrating of the story is incredible, there are some facts even I as a huge car guy and a fan of japanese cars didn't know, the editing was on point and music was well chosen. I really see problems in this video. You even went back to the history of mitsubishi which was neat.
