    Hey Hugh, I have learned soooo much from you in these last few years. I started a deep dive into Mistika VR after your Amazing Master Class program. Such a fantastic program. I am also using your post-production master sheet templates. Reallly great value!!! Keep up the amazing work. I just wish that Mistika was more affordable to amateur filmmakers like me. Thanks again.

      The Mistika Boutique learning version is good for amateur work, it is free of cost and it has all the functionality. The limitations are in the output codecs that are allowed, but not in functionality and speed. The included encoders are perfectly fine for watching VR360 content (but not enough for sending professional deliveries to studios or to other VFX applications )

      Thank you Brian! Just as javiej mention - Boutique is free for anyone learning how to edit VR video. Give it a try. My masterclass just have a massive update (free for you if you have it) that included a 1 and a half hour Boutique deep dive - see if you like it.

    Hi Hugh.. I have been losing my mind recently because I *cannot* get any 360 stabiliser to work on my footage. Da Vinci Resolve doesn't work, Mystika VR doesn't work - both of them result in the same wavy, undulating mess that I've been posting about on BMD forums for at least a year. Clearly here the problem is me, but what am I doing wrong? In Mystika VR I loaded the clip, added a VR Stitch, selected Mapping->LatLong, De-selected Draw Overlay and Draw Feather, and clicked Stabilize. And the worst part of all - it hasn't even stabilized. Not only is the wavy mess the result, it hasn't even stabilized the underlying frames that have some jitter, because of timelapse. So now it's wavy *&* jittery. At least DR removes the jitter while destroying the video....
    Here is an example: ua-cam.com/video/k_oBe7CnuM8/v-deo.html
    If you have any tips I'd be supremely grateful because this one issue is 95% of the waaay-too-much-time I spend on these videos...

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 роки тому

      EVO it should be - are you editing in VR180 or 360 - EVO can do both. And Boutique can also handle both if you get the project settings correctly before you start editing.

    Thank you for creating great video. I really enjoyed it and try Mistika boutique education edition. I have one question; does it work for creating timelapse video instead of using Mistika VR?

  • @nowandrew4442
    @nowandrew4442 2 роки тому +1

    Hi Hugh.. Qoocam 8K timelapse creates a sequence of images rather than a usable MP4 video. It's possible to render a video clip from these images using Da Vinci Resolve but then the resulting MP4 lacks metadata so Qoocam Studio refuses to handle it. Can Mystika address this issue and allow 'visual' stitching of a 'twin-180 lens' video clip? (i.e. the unstiched output from Qoocam8K)

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  2 роки тому

      Yes! Mistika has Q8C template - important is as image sequence and just stitch it there or render out ProRes Proxy back to Resolve.

    So what is your favorite 360 reframing workflow nowadays? I havent tried mistika yet, but I have used (1) Insta 360 studio (2) Resolve fusion with equirectangular on a sphere with 3d camera inside (3) KartaVR 360reframe... My experience is that (1) is the fastest of them all, but limited in options and not integrated in Resolve (2) Puts a heavy load on my system, making editing a frustrating experience on my RTX 3080 16Gb VRAM and the resulting image distorted(3) seems to work much smoother/faster processing with better output... not sure how they do this. A video in which you address the different options and methods would be great.
