Awesome video man. I think identifying my centipede was honestly the hardest part of starting my lawn care journey.

THANKS! I've been watching your videos for a couple of years. I have a nice lawn thanks to your advice. My neighbors always tell me that I have the nicest centipede lawn. Unfortunately, there's a downside to having a nice and thick centipede lawn. Dogs around the neighborhood love to walk and stop on my centipede grass and conduct their daily business. While the dog owners do act responsibly and always pick up after their dogs, there's still residue from #1 and #2. :( Oh well... :)

Dude thank you for the centipede content! It took awhile for me to pin down my grass types as everybody is all about Bermuda. I have Centipede, St. Augustine, carpet grass, bahia, and some Bermuda and tons of weeds. Last year I applied just a regular store bought selective herbicide and spot sprayed with glyphosate to kill Dallas grass. This year the centipede is spreading and lawn is looking more uniform. My goal is just to have Centipede and St Aug. I've been cutting at 3" to help the st. Aug but noticed by the time I go to cut the centipede is putting out seed heads which explains how it's popping up where I had none. So maybe cutting higher can help spread seed. I'd be curious to see if you tried 3" on your lawn if you get more seed heads.

Thanks for watching. Yeah I try to keep my centipede cut between 1.5”-2” but there are times I e noticed when it gets taller that seed heads come out in the summer. You can mulch mow and spread the seeds but if you have a ton of weeds that will also make the weed problem worse. So it’s a catch 22. Work on getting the weeds under control first and then maybe you could get away with it

@@CentipedeCentralLawnCare Thanks for the reply! Given the amount of weeds and unwanted grass, I'm going to just spot spray with glyphosate. I'll try plugging or planting stolons for the bare spots. An idea I came up with is spot watering the grass I want when high temps. That way it stays strong and healthy and can push out the heat stressed grass that I don't want. Once I get the weeds manageable I'll move to regularly using selective herbicide. I just put down a packet of Celsius WG to combat the carpetgrass and maybe kill the bahia as well. Wasn't enough to cover everything but waiting on the results before I buy more.

I’m here after listening to the “normal grass” song.
