Huge Thank you. I was up in the wee hours of the morning working on a project. I wanted/needed to put a perforated line on my project. I tried for about 45 min...read the Cricut help info and also looked at my copy of Cricut Playbook. Nothing helped then I found this video and I was off and running in minutes. Great video lots of helpful and detailed info. Now I am off to watch your video on scoring. TY
Very helpful as usual. I only used the perforation blade once to try, but now I will look for projects I can use it on. Cricut Design Space has some, so now I have some ideas I need to work on. Thank you
I was just using my regular blade to make the perf lines and worked exactly the same...I just found a perforation tip on sale at walmart for 10$ and snached it up so quick will deff save me a little time
Hi Angie! I am having the hardest time to get the perforated blade to cut card stock. The blade is new and I have tried different materials with more pressure with very little success. Do you have any other suggestions?
I wonder if stiffened felt would work with that blade. I starched a few pieces before and they cut so well in the Cricut... almost like car stock!! Thanks for another great thorough tutorial!
Angie Holden ...yes. Thank you for the detailed vids. I am completely new to cricut (actually don’t even have the machine yet) so you are the perfect person to ask about this. You mentioned making a puzzle for the kids using the kraft foam. So that made me wonder about actual puzzles made from a cardstock almost like a real puzzle. I was thinking maybe printing a wedding photo and gluing to cardstock, then cutting it into a puzzle. What sort of blade would be good for that project? Or maybe you have an even better way to make this project instead of gluing? Thanks again!
Hi Angie :) As always a great very helpful and informative tutorial... I always enjoy your videos :) I would love to see you do a project with this perforation tool for a kids project... would be great to see you using the craft foam, for maybe dolls or a puzzle :) I want to outline a picture, but not cut out the pieces, but be able to tear out piece by piece as I need to the reason being I want to make a sand art picture, and it needs to pull out seperate pieces to the picture, and replace the spaces with coloured sands.... just wondered if it can be done.... I havent got the perforation blade else I would try it myself lol.... thank you for sharing all your wonderful how to videos enjoy them all and are a big help to me :) have a nice day, stay safe and well :) magz (Australia)
This is a great video. Have you ever had your perforating tool NOT actually perforate? I did a cut yesterday and it worked perfectly. Then every one I tried afterwards only put an indentation in the paper (more like a scoring tool). I'm using very hard cardstock for a gatefold invitation and I need a very distinct line for the folds, but since it's not perforating correctly, I'm at a loss. :-(
@@AngieHolden I would think that if it hadn't worked on the same paper first. Now it won't work at all. I worked with Cricut and not it's even worse. :-( It's literally putting the slightest impression on the paper - less than what a score line does.
Hey Angie, this video is very helpful however how do I do this if I only want to perforate an already printed project and not have it cut as well if that makes sense?
can you use perf blade on aluminum metal? Also I have an new idea I think would be perfect to use in a cricut machine. don't know who to talk to about that
Angie... I was thinking of making a kids puzzle using the foam in your video. Do you think the perf. Blade would cut curves for big puzzle pieces or would it be better to use the fine point blade on foam. I'm using a maker.
I like the rotary blade for foam! I find the other blades leave a jagged edge a lot of times! The perf would work but you would still have a little bit of a jagged edge after separating it.
Please, make another one with some ideas on where to use it. I have hard time coming up with the ideas for this blade. I guess same can be achieved by using a knife but then if will take a while to program this in the Cricut Design. A part from custom sealed envelope or box with "easy to open" tear tag or some vouchers (as you already mentioned) I don't see any real use for it.
Can I use this for vinyl? If I cut out vinyl labels and apply transfer tape, is it possible to then perforate between my vinyl labels so a sheet of vinyl labels can be sold as a whole that can be torn away before applying? Hopefully this makes sense. Wondering if it would work and if so, what pressure setting would I use?
Hi from France :) Thanks for your video ! but mine doesn't perforate at all ! even a 210g paper, even with pressure plus ! I'm so disappointed by this blade...
What about using it to make folds? For instance, if I wanted to make a little “cardboard box” and I wanted to put the fold lines in it so I can ship it flat, and the person receiving it can bend the box into shape and glue it to make a little box? Would this work for something like that or is there a better tool for that?

Thank you for this demo! Now to go shopping.
I learned a lot by watching your videos, thank you very much!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing tutorial!!!! Love the different materials at the end. Thank you so much ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Great demo of the perf blade
Thank you so much
Any time!
Great video! I love your reaction to the tearing of the craft foam--haha, it looked so satisfying! :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing, Angie.
Thank you, Angie. You taught me what I needed to know.
I'm so glad!
Hi Angie! I am having the hardest time to get the perforated blade to cut card stock. The blade is new and I have tried different materials with more pressure with very little success. Do you have any other suggestions?
Hmmm. I am not sure what it wouldn't cut. Now it doesn't cut all the way through. Just enough to tear it.
I wonder if stiffened felt would work with that blade. I starched a few pieces before and they cut so well in the Cricut... almost like car stock!! Thanks for another great thorough tutorial!
OH I bet it would!

That sounds like a great use for this blade actually. I think that is perfect!
@@AngieHolden Thank you....I hope it works lol...when I eventually purchase the perforation tool :)
have a nice day :)
Thank you for the video !
Thank you great video 📹 👍
thank you Angie for this video. Have you tried the perf blade with light chipboard?
I have not!
I took notes. Thanks!
Very useful thanx
So helpful! Thank you.

I have not. Maybe it is the paper?
@@AngieHolden I would think that if it hadn't worked on the same paper first. Now it won't work at all. I worked with Cricut and not it's even worse. :-( It's literally putting the slightest impression on the paper - less than what a score line does.
I would make sure the blade is installed correctly and restart your machine and computer.
Hello, nice video, thanks for demo it, it's still not clear fort me if this blade fits for explorer version of the machine or only maker?
Only the Maker.
Would perforating like this work as a scoring tool if on a light setting? I've having no luck getting the scoring tool to work on poster board.
Maybe? It might just cut the top layer of the posterboard.
Hey Angie, this video is very helpful however how do I do this if I only want to perforate an already printed project and not have it cut as well if that makes sense?
That is going to be hard to get located on the Cricut mat. You can play with it and try to figure out the correct location.
Hi Angie, do you think it is possible to use this tool with the acrylic 0.007?
No it will not work.
can you use perf blade on aluminum metal? Also I have an new idea I think would be perfect to use in a cricut machine. don't know who to talk to about that
I am not sure actually!

Yea this is one I don't use much honestly.
Can you only buy the tip or together with the housing. Maybe i can use the housing that comes with the cricutmaker or is that another one?
You can buy just the tip. The housing that comes with the Maker is different. You will need one quick swap housing.
I am attempting to add perforated lines to sticker labels that I printed… can you help with the easiest way to do this?
I would do it all in Design Space and use print then cut.
I am actually looking to see if there is a blade that would make a stitched look. Would this work for that?
I think so!
I'm looking for this as well. Were you able to try it and was it the look you wanted?
Could I make actual sewing holes on the Cricut?
Probably not with this blade.
I don't think the tear would be clean on vinyl. I think the vinyl would stretch instead of tear if that makes any sense at all.
Angie Holden yeah that’s what I was thinking but just wanted to find out for sure ☺️ thanks for the reply
Hi from France :) Thanks for your video ! but mine doesn't perforate at all ! even a 210g paper, even with pressure plus ! I'm so disappointed by this blade...
Maybe contact Cricut? I didn't have any issues.

For that, use the scoring wheel or stylus. You can find a video on those here: ua-cam.com/video/usk87AmwkJc/v-deo.html&lc=UgzLSrmryF8TTMpFs0F4AaABAg
Angie Holden thanks for the reply!! 😄👍
Thank you Angie. A ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Any time!
My perf blade is numbered 12 instead of 11, but I haven't been able to find out why. I don't suppose you have any ideas?
I don't! Sorry!
@@AngieHolden thanks for responding! Maybe one day I'll solve the mystery!
How often you need to change the blade?
This blade will rarely have to be changed.
Can you use it on cricut explorer 3?
No you cannot.
Is the perf blade is only for the Maker?
Maker and Maker 3 only.
Does this work on exploerer air 2?
No it does not.
Can you use it in a explorer 3?
No.
@@AngieHolden how would you suggest I get the perforation lines on the explorer 3?
Will it work on a explore 3? If so how?
No. This is for Maker only.
What if you have an old cricut machine that does not connect to a computer program but is rather a stand alone
The perf blade can ONLY be used on the Cricut Maker. I am not sure how you would add a perf line to one of those older machines.
Can you perforate a free-form shape, or just a straight line?
Any shape.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
I followed evrrything and its barely cutting it, i even used thicker paper materials when im just using 66lb paper
Not sure? Maybe try contacting Cricut?
I have the opposite problem, half of my circle cuts all the way. I tried using thicker paper still cuts too deep
My perforation blade will not work no matter what I do.
You might contact Cricut to see if there is an issue.
@@AngieHolden I did. They could not help. Sending new blade. Not sure that’s it, but we’ll see. Thanks for the reply.
