I think the Ave Maria demo track sounds the best. So peaceful, maybe because the Harp is playing the main melody. Definitely a sleeper track and my favorite next to the Venus demo song too xd
My grandparents never had much to do around the house when we went to visit but I usually spent an hour or two pretending it was I playing their keyboard's demonstration
09:45 THAT'S IT! Venus, right? I think. I've tried to remember the tune in full for years now; every so often I'd be reminded of the *duhduh duhduh duh duh duuhduhduh* bit and get all nostalgic... Thanks :)
Bloody brilliant! What a load of memories! I remember my dad and mum singing songs like yesterday, when the saints and camptown races. I didn't recognise the last song though. What is it? Yamaha disguised it too much!
+KeyboardKrazy49 Hello, I like the demonstration songs on the PSR-3 keyboard. They are very nice. Thank you for posting. Can you please do a video of you showing the songs on the PSR-3 Keyboard in a direct line recording?
I wanted to mention the PSS-50 had the same sound chip. When I heard Yesterday & Venus it was kinda nostalgic. :) We had the PSS-50's & Casio SK-1's in music class.
Yes it is venus by bananarama, this is my favourite demo song on this keyboard and just by listening to the disco rhythm style it looks like it was programmed for that song :) Thanks for watching!
IIRC Venus was the only song on this thing I actually liked as a kid. Hmm, I guess I was a retrophile even back then. :) Listening to it now though, I guess that's kind of a neat (if cheesy) reggae rendition of "House of the rising sun" (or maybe this version should be called "House of de risin' son"?) ...imma go listen to some Bananarama now.
Funny, there's House of the Rising Sun on the PSR-300 too (and maybe PSR-200 which I think was the same without velocity), was surprised to see a worse quality version crop up here.
@msmusic60 I thinhk you might have removed your comment you put on this video by accident so I just wanted to thank you for your comment! :) Your comment read as follows: Thanks for the demo. I'm considering whether to buy one of these used on ebay. It helps a lot to hear it first.
Could you please tell me which keyboard has 'The Lumberjack Song' as part of the demo? The question has been raging unresolved for Alan Partridge fans for literally decades. Cheers.
@@tufelkahonda5323 They are not that rare, Yamaha made quite a few different models of this keyboard, the PSR-18/PSR-19 with 61 keys as well as optional reverb or echo and I think the 49 key model the PSR-3 was made in at least 2 different models and of course you have the mini key versions, the PSS-50/PSS-9 in 2 colours with 32 keys and the PSS-190/ PSS-16 with 37 keys plus 4 drum pads to instantly access the PCM drums. To be honest these keyboards were something that were OK back in the day but there were better keyboards.
Michael Crouch that's right, but that's reduced if backing styles are being played, if I remember I think it is reduced to 4 notes when styles are being played
@@KeyboardKrazy49Right! Polyphony is also spent on auto-style. This is what is meant when it is written: 8-note Polyphony (as well as 12, 24, 32, 64, 128 on other PSR models)
There is not a ym2413 inside, this is one of yamaha's custom 4 operator fm chips, the pss9 is the smaller brother of the psr3 and the psr16/19 the bigger one ;-)
Did you mean the musical scores printed in the "instructions for using this keyboard"? Or are you talking about other musical parts that are not included in the instructions for this keyboard?
@Ahuebner2004 Sorry if I didnt play those demo songs, I didnt have time to show them all because of the time limit so I only showed some of my favourites which was most of the demonstration songs but I hoped you enjoyed the songs that I did show on this video. Thanks for watching! :)
My first ever keyboard...I'm sat here now with my korg kronos feeling all nostalgic

The last song was Venus by Bananarama :)

bananarama was an 80s cover, the original Venus was by Shocking Blue & they took the melody from "The Banjo Song"
Valuable video! This Yamaha PSR-3 is the younger sister of the legendary PSR-2-the first in the PSR series. Demo songs similar to PSR-2.(With respect)
I had this when I was young

Ah I used to have one of these when I was a kid... got rid of it though! Thanks for the memories... haha. :)
It is a pity that You got rid of that keyboard! It's very rare now.

Hello ! i have a question about Yamaha PSR3 maybe you can help me!
8 note polyphonic if I recall, you could get a sound off 8 individual keys at once!
Michael Crouch that's right, but that's reduced if backing styles are being played, if I remember I think it is reduced to 4 notes when styles are being played

Does it have a grand piano feature?
