    Some pro tips: (1) A scroll compressor is still a hermetic compressor. (2) Don't trust the numbers you set the control to. (3) Set up the low pressure control settings in your van with nitrogen and a swivel tee. Saves the compressor some stress. Saves you and the customer time as well. (4) I agree, the manual high pressure reset is the way to go if it's responsible for cycling a compressor. (5) Be clean with your capillary tube routing, don't let them rub against things, and ensure they are routed as to not let oil pool in them. (6) ALWAYS LEAK CHECK THEM. The low pressure diaphragm is prone to leaking, especially on Johnson brand controls. (7) For everyone's sake, don't over torque the flare fittings...

    Good Stuff CSC . I remember attending to a seminar , when Copeland scrolls fist came out , were mainly installed on AC units . The instructor mentioned that is not good to pump them down below 17 Psig . Now that I see them in refrigeration units I pump them as low as 19-20 psig . Good stuff man .

    The main reason you want the scroll to stop pumping down around 15psi is to not send too much liquid through the scroll at the top of the compressor. It’ll damage and ruin the scroll compressor.

      On this particular control and most they are factory set. The differential adjustment is used on a condenser fan cycling control always .

    this might be a lot to ask but this would be super beneficial to me and probably a lot other new guys
    1. SC/SH and typical pressures to look for in a normally function WIC/WIF
    2. (this might be a pain) but draw out an electrical diagram of a refrigeration system with all the most common parts and how they're wired.
    3. and could you make a video of your typical diagnostic steps when you come across a unit not working? ex: step 1, visual inspections on the coil, step 2 check fans
    4. and can you make a video for your step by step maintenance CC on a refrigeration system?
    Thank you for these videos. seriously. great job and i love your patience

    Can you do a fan cycling control, based off what I know in a two fan condensing unit you’re only wiring one fan which would be your fan closest to the inlet of the condenser. But as far as setting the switch what am I doing just setting pressure cutting out closest to pressure similar to 30 degrees over my ambient in colder ambient temps. Great vids keep me coming.

    I'm in Canada and we get temperatures as low as -20f. So if I was to set a 404a scroll compressor system to cut in at 40 - 45 psi with a cutout at 15 psi, would that not likely be enough to cut in when the solenoid opens? If I have a freezer at -4f and my outdoor ambient is somewhere in the -10f to -20f at night, is it not going to be enough pressure to kick it back on?

    • @Cscrefandhvac
      @Cscrefandhvac  Рік тому

      It could be for sure. We get cold winters here but not as cold like you do at all amd I’ve had units here that would not get close to 45. You will have to lower that and lower the cut out

    • @Cscrefandhvac
      @Cscrefandhvac  Рік тому +1

      Well you will have to put o the system down to hook up the low side and if it’s a dual pressure control or high side control you will have to remove refrigerant depending where it goes. It it’s in the discharge line you’ll have to recover some gas most likely but if it’s on the liquid side you should be able to pump it down

      If it’s failed it will be either stuck open or closed . Or the springs will wear out and it won’t calibrate correctly to sense the correct pressure. Or they can leak inside in the bellows or cap tube will break , leak or get clogged
