After watching your videos at least 2 or 3 times, I finally made my first junk journal using this binding method. I have been paper crafting for years and have made mini albums and I scrapbook and make cards. When smash books came out I tried one of those. I believe that evolved into junk journals. Now that I have mine constructed and my signatures together I am excited now to learn how to make the many different other items to add to it. Because I scrapbook my choice 0f papers are more colorful, but as you say when you open it, it is supposed to make you happy. So thank you!!
I love your tutorials. I make a screen shot of your tutorials-notes and put them in a cover. So i have a thick tutorials-book for the next generation. Thank you, love from The Netherlands👍🏻😃
You make it look so easy - I love how you explain things and also share it in written form. You're a great teacher and share so many wonderful creations with us - thank you.
NATASHA!!! BRILLIANT!!!! Love this method !!!!i thank you for showing and sharing with us !!! I love the fact that i can take out pages as well as put new pages in..and i love your creative edges on your paper!! Have a blessed day !!!❤🐦
Hello my friend, Brenda here😘 I'm watching this again so I can prepare a cover jacket for the 3 piece set that I recently ordered from you. I'm so excited, I'm not very patient, like my Dad would say "You've got to hurry up & wait" lol💕❤️
Natasa you are the first and only person I have Subscribed to because I'm in awe of all you do. I'm new to Junk journaling, but since a young girl I've kept journals which I had many of and lost them all, so this past January 1st 2024 I began my very first Junk Journal ❤
I love this method...will definitely give it a try. I also love your easy instructions especially the written ones. Thank you for all your efforts and for sharing with us.
Halooo from Denmark. Thank you for your videos and lots of inspiration. ( my spelling may be wrong but I hope that you understand ) I have learned so much , and you have a great way to teach. Love from Susan
Omgosh Natasha!! I’m so impressed!! It came out amazing for my very first one! Thank you so much for giving us a very simple version! No gluing, no sewing, and double sided tape to bind!! Amazing! Thanks love all your crafting that you do!
Clarity is the best quality of a teacher! I'm excited about this binding because I plan to create individual books for my ancestors, and this binding allows me to easily add or remove pages if I find more information about an individual in the future. I love it!"
I bind my journals this way. I made a cover of plain (or recycled) chipboard, then covered it with a decorative cover after tying the strings, so the strings are covered. I actually like the strings showing, though. One suggestion I have is to fold a piece of cardstock in half and put it over the page edges you are sliding under the string. It will make it easier and also protect the edges of your pages. This is a great video -- very well done. Thanks! I just subscribed.
Thank you for another great video Natasa. I love the simplicity and the practicality of this journal design. And it's beautiful!! As for the bindings, my old library liked to give away old copies of Readers Digest. This is a wonderful use for those unwanted volumes. This is an "all around" great idea.
Thank you so much Darnelle. I like the idea of libraries giving away old copies of books, rather than sending them the the recyclers. I wish all of them would do it.
Oh my goodness I love this I have a cookbook collection better pamphlets that their cover fell apart but the cover still intact it was the spine I'm going to use this to fix it thank you love your videos
Aha I knew if I searched enough I would not have to sew my signatures in my books. I have tried and I cannot get the darn things to work. Thank you Natasa so much
Oh my word ! I can’t wait to try this style of binding. Thank you so much for sharing. Your tutorial was so easy to follow and understand. Cheers from cold Canada
Love the idea and looking forward to using this method to making one using watercolor paper. Your explanation and the written instructions are great. Thank you for sharing.
This was wonderful! I don’t have the book binding apparatuses in my stash and want to make one so badly! This I can do! ( I hope 😑) Thanks and I love your work!👍
Actual genius, thank you. I loathe sewing in my signatures, so this has just made my life oh so much easier. As always, your videos are a lesson learned 💕⭐️💕
I love it! ❤ I know that this video is 3 years old. I'm going back and watching some of your earlier videos. I haven't been doing paper crafts very long. There isn't a craft store that offers classes. Most of the smaller stores closed due to Covid so there are just the chain stores left. You can get the supplies but not 'how to' information. I don't know how it is in Australia, but a lot of businesses here are having a difficult time finding people who want to work. Of course the pay isn't much and there are no benefits. But it's been like that for years.
Thank U Thank U Thank U SO much for sharing this awesomeness! I've been wanting to start junk journals but I do not sew and that has been a HUGE reason as to why I haven't been able to start My Junk Journal journey... LoL! This is a wonderful option. Thanks again for sharing cause U totally made My day 🌞 ~Mel~
I’m so happy, Natasa, that you did this tutorial so quickly after saying that you would do one. I don’t have lots of time for making journals anymore and I love this quick method. When my circumstances change then I can sew in the signatures. You are the only one I have seen who writes out the steps. That is very helpful! I ALWAYS look forward to your videos!♥️
You are so very patient and I have learned so very much from you. You are a born teacher and I appreciate all the things you have shared. I never knew I could use my sewing machine with this. I also have embroidery on my machine so I think I will embroider some flowers, etc. on my drapery samples and use them in my journaling books (I have only done one ....). Again, thank you.
Just LOVE this method. Definitely going to do this with my soon-to- be bunny journal. The idea of being able to remove or add pages is awesome. If you wanted to do some sewing on a particular page.....You can just take it out and put it right back in! I can see myself using the twining method alot. Love your specific steps, and the fact that you have them all written down! Thank you so much for demonstrating this, Natasa!! Big crafty hugs! ❤ Suzy
OMG yes Suzy, see! I didn't even think of that. I do all my sewing before binding, but OF COURSE, with this method I CAN do the binding first! Duh!! Haha This really is a very flexible method, perfect for us junk journalers and art journalers :)
Замечательно! Мне очень понравилась Ваша идея) Большое спасибо за мастер класс. Я уже делала альбом из конвертов по Вашему видео. Обязательно воспользуюсь Вашей идей ещё раз
So happy I found this...I am creating my 5th journal (but first with a hard book cover) and had no idea how to do the binding in this case...this is perfect..thank you Natasa..will be sure to give you a shout out on my video of this on my new channel..again thx
Thankyou so much for the share . I wanted to make a Medium size Halloween book. This Tutorial was so delightful , I won't even have to leave the house. You are my Angel .
Really well done tutorial. I think having the directions written is genius! Thank you for sharing your method; I have many RD books and this will be just right!
Wow how wonderful.. and you made it very easy for us to understand it I absolutely love it. Your book is beautiful I love your signatures I want to thank you for showing us how to do this💞
You're such a great teacher! Your explanations are clear, you demonstrate each step, and you even have an outline for us to read. Love and admire you and your work, Natasa. 💖
Have fun Catherine! This is such a fun process, and once you get to sewing, you will find its not that hard after all. I remember being SO intimidated by it when I first started too. But now its (almost) a breeze :) The twine binding is a very easy alternative :)
Natasa (is that the correct spelling of your name?), you have such patience when you teach us. I love that you make notes to follow; you are always very well-prepared. As a viewer, I appreciate that. This kind of binding is so user-friendly. I have yet to master the pamphlet stitch; my needle holes never line up. The ability to add or subtract pages, or even signatures themselves, is very appealing. As far as the strings being too tight, my guess is they will probably stretch with use. How much depends on the type of twine or cord used. Elastic is easy, but it has a short shelf life. I just unpacked some old clothes so I could use the fabric in my journals and all the elastic has turned to crumbs. I'll probably still use elastic for some journals, but for most I'll use twine, which offers yet another way to personalize one's creation via the choice of color and material. Great video, as always. I am learning a lot from you. ~ Lisa
Thank you so much Lisa. Yes, that is correct spelling of my name (thank you). I totally agree about elastic having a short shelf life, and generally I try to avoid it if I can, but I think I might use some in my next project. Thank you for all of your kind words and feedback :)
Hi Natasha, I love that you have your step by step instructions on a page next to your video. Such a helpful aid.
Thank you for something so neat but so simple.

Thank you so much Robin :) Have fun with this easy binding :)
Just subscribed...this is exactly what I was looking for as I do not own a sewing machine...plus "old" eyes. Well done
Thank you for this video, like the pretty edges in you signatures.
