i think you just made one of the best support guides. always hear friends say in game "I don't know what to do in the early game as support" and now here's a solid blueprint to follow
the big diff of your data bowie is the context is pro. We dont play pro matches. Pro plays faster. Anything less than 6k (which should be 99% of the dota population) plays at a slower pace and benefits from stacks (cause idle time) and easier catch up for people from behind cause highly varied skill level.
Great video, although one thing I would add is how important a stacked small camp is. You said that a 5 shouldn’t be thinking about stacking all that much, and I get that it’s in the context of stacking for cores, but I think it’s worth mentioning that stacking a small camp to aim for a stacked pull is lane winning.
Small camp for pulling as 5 is fine But sometimes especially in legend rank, those dog left the lane at minute 4 to stack and forget to comeback to lane to do their job And when u ask them to come back to the lane, they gonna say “i dont want to babysit u noob” all he have to do is help in lane till minue 10 maybe then most pos 1 can farm anywhere fast enough to get the same amount of gold as laning
Stacking small camp in first 5 minutes is possible only below 5 or 6k mmr, there is no way that decent pos 4 player let you stack small camp, and it is usually waste of time trying to do that on higher rank
@@SammyLame Yes I agree, but since that's around 99% of the player base it's a good idea to mention it in an educational video. I'm 5.4k and you'll be surprised how many times enemy pos4 just sentry block the camp once and completely forgets it exists, even after I dewarded his sentry.
In the event you can't stack the pull camp, half-pulls are the 2nd best solution because your lane won't shove while still denying some EXP from enemies while getting a bit of gold.
I have followed you since you began to post. You were sharp back then but THIS? This is what I was searching for when Dota was a lively game. Pure science. Well done Bowie. Well done.
It's incredibly frustrating play as an agressive offlaner that can easily kill the enemy carry or pos 5 only to have your pos 4 keep going back to triangle to stack and blame me for not harassing the carry.
Yes dude! This is a great video. This level of breaking down games isn't really done very often but I am sure it was a lot of work to do so thank you man.
when I read the title I had to do a little victory arm pump. as a hard offlaner who usually plays support/utility 3.5-4.5 Play AD, you'll get it, maybe) I see a lot of stacked camps get contested, and very rarely does my lane mate give a hoot about contesting. Ive had lane mates stack camps where neither of us can farm the camp, yet the camp is in close proximity to the opposing lane action, like 'wtf u doing?' I hardly ever stack and most the time its just self camp stack meaning I just kill the stack anyway because im a greedily farming away. I do stack camps occasionally, but I dont make a point to, I just dont think its as valuable as others make it out to be.
it's possible to associate the stat with the game result or lane result ? like when the team has no hero that good in clearing stack (esp. ancient stack), what they would do ?
Ever since they added bonus gold in stacking, theres been that sort of influx of money coming out of nowhere that makes your support go from measly ward bitch into this scary ass scaling carry that can 1v1 your midlaner. Ive tried stacking as a pos 4 furion and i got my orchid 9 min into the game and we snowballed way too easily because my carry got some stacks and i went from orchid into gleipnir pretty easily.
Thanks again for the informative video, I wonder if you could share some insights into how much the dota youtube niche can make? I've been getting inspired by you recently and want to take my stab at it.
Holy sht the amount of work in an 8 minute video! Thank you and well done!

I’ve faced enemy supports that does this and they can easily deny 3 entire creepwaves, not counting in if they have lane dominators

This is the best Dota-related channel by far right now.
Props to the research that went into this great video!
Thanks for the effort filled video!

Pure science.
Well done Bowie. Well done.
Anytime my friends ask me for support guides, easy recommendation. Youre the goat as always bowie
This is a great video, can you do it for the other roles too please? preferably pos 3 first :D

i thought this said Slacks is overrated I was waiting 5 full minutes wondering wtf slacks had to do with playing pos 5

yeah caught that one too ^^ hehe
Good content, but as someone else said - the music is annoying and way too loud
Wonderful data analysis, good job!
super great content, thanks for taking time to go through so many replays and summing it up for us
I really enjoy the videos but man, the music is way too loud

Yeah stacking for cores who cant clear is just so stupid

amazing content
This is great
For some reason, Other POS 5 NP doesn't take this kind of advantage. Instead they are using the treants for scouting and blocking enemy camps.
I love data like this, thank you Bowie!!!
Super cool video. Love this stuff. Does a certain set of action increase likelihood of winning/losing?

As a pos 1 main... Thank you! Sick of my supports afk pulling small camp or afk stacking

Me (too lazy to stack): i am ten metas ahead of you!
You know things are getting serious when the excel sheets come out.
That's nuts, crazy good work
Nice video bowie and the dota 2 reference heheheh
Good job

I don't think it's stack gold. I think it's comeback gold and the additional camps that make supports fat af.
this is the best support guide ive seen in a while
