I feel so bad for plaintrace he was literally hiding behind his hands and SHAKING from fear thank you plaintrace to show us a super scary FNAF fan game
Fun fact: The knife John was holding is called the "KA-BAR." It's a shortened version of the phrase "kill a bear" after an Alaskan hunter used it to kill a bear in 1920.
Daily Double! The "KA-BAR" knife was also the standard issue knife for the United States Marine Corps during World War 2, and still sees deployments to warzones across the world to this very day!
Grizzly calling you his pride and joy is like a twisted version of a father saying he loves you he just doesn't get how to be normal, thank you grizzly i love you too
DUUUUDE! That random event with the animatronic ripping off the door lever was brilliant! I've always felt like FNAF lacked the complexity to really make it truly scary (because beyond the jumpscares, the atmosphere is the only thing that's scary. Constantly reframing the actual danger of the animatronics also worsens the fear imo) because the animatronics were incapable of doing much beyond making uncomfy sounds, standing at your door and staring blankly at you. The maliciousness of the animatronics in Grizzly's VR is amazing! I really love it when games set you up to believe a certain standard (1 new animatronic a night, how you control doors and the cameras) and then just flip that routine on it's head and make you scramble to adjust. It's super awesome. My only gripe with it is that I wished there was more little events like that which could rarely occur. Like perhaps, an animatronic cutting the power to the monitor, or destroying a camera, or one even making a bunch of noise to cover for another, sneakier animatronic.
If I had to hazard a guess from what happens in the game's few cutscenes, I suspect that the Grizzly's animatronics were given some advanced AI that the government wants/may have used and that Jonathan stole. Jonathan was driven to murder because of a need to cover up what he was working on (presumably because he was working with the government). As much as I don't want to immediately jump to fnaf-related concepts and ideas, I think there's a possibility that Grizzly's glitchiness has to do with Jonathan's missing father (who I assume, is dead and now haunting Grizzly himself, which is why Grizzly encourages Jonathan and refuses to be taken apart. Perhaps some kind of glitchtrap style stuff is going on with the father, with him being sort of 'jammed' into the code because of Jonathan's sadness at his father's death.) As to who Angel is, it seems like they are either Jonathan's sister, girlfriend, or some other third party that is fragrantly aware of what was going on with Jonathan, his father and the contract with the government. It seems like they are intending to expose what happened, possibly to prevent the government from using the AI in military robots.
have you heard of a fnaf fan game called mary's arcade. it has a lot of little scripted events like the ones you spoke of, like cameras going dark or getting cut and a pretty good one at the end of the third night that involves one of the animatronics.
A live monitor in VR... That is impressive For context, VR is weird, each eye needs to have its own separate image rendered per frame. This is what makes VR so hard to do, you effectively need 2x the render power for the same performance. A live monitor adds a third render pass, as the monitor needs to update for each frame as well. How this isn't a slideshow is beyond me, good job devs.
13:11 I like how grizzly is reminded him about what he did but when we saw what was in the last tape he telling him to do it kinda like forcing him too and it’s scary to see here how grizzly is manipulating him reminding him off his crimes that he was forced to do and it also shows how smart they are like John said
In a world that John doesn’t kill the homeless man Grizzly: “You have the guts.” *The homeless man breaks in but John instead knocks him out* Grizzly: “Poosy”(Spelled like that on purpose)
9:32 This sounds like it’s the point of view of the friend of the main character talking to the girlfriend that put him in a schizophrenic spiral after she left him. When I first saw grizzly’s 1 it seemed like the politics were a cover for the real tragedy. A man’s mental break after reaching the end of his rope, girlfriend leaving him leading to his death
Damn now this is one hell of a glow up. OG Grizzly's was a huge meme and for good reason. This on the other hand looks so actually well-made in every aspect. Huge props to the team.
Grizzly is just mad that the owner hasn't gotten him a new voice box. I mean, if my voice sounded like that whenever I talked, I would be furious as well
Gah dayum, Grizzly's voice is so funny while being scary af, like a Texan who has been vaping for the last 22 months, banging on your door with an Iron Sights M60 at 2 AM.
Incredible how Grizzly's went from the fangame with the funniest story to one of the scariest FNaF fangames out there. Also, PlainTrace, you wanna know who the third phone guy is? Well, I sure as hell recognized his voice from the first game. He's... the President. No, literally, he's the president of the USA. A third party that's not either the left or right, and has been running for more times than it usually should be allowed to, sorta like a dystopian world. That's why Johnathan talks about the regime, the government and whatnot. Also, Grizzly isn't possessed. As far as I know, none of the robots are. They're just too intelligent, their AI is too advanced. Maybe that's why the government is interested in them?
The fact that Grizzly is an uncontrollable monster that can be easily provoked and Johnathan needed to be careful with him, kinda reminds me of Ichi the Killer or Homelander from The Boys
the voice acting is phenomenal, but grizzly especially, i like a lot. his lines and the stuttering, as well as the audio editing, only make it so much more unsettling
That part where the animatronic suddenly hold jonathan hands and become alive is just tooo scary imagine you was assigned to disassemble an animatronic and then it start grabbing your hand 💀

So the first Grizzly’s received a lot of criticism for its bizarre approach. I believe the dev admitted it was more meant to be about the lore and story-telling than gameplay. The nights consisted of very lacking gameplay topped with phonecalls that went on the entire night of some guy complaining about political corruption. It prided itself as “the first political fnaf game” and generally wasn’t received well, even if there was genuine effort behind the project. Grizzly's is a game that has its own universe and atmosphere, not just visuals. For that all, things should be obvious. This game is phenomenal.
Either you're too high, or I'm not high enough... What the fuck is happening in this comment?
Tbh the PC version has the same campy politics as something like mgrr and I love it.
I like his accent “his hand can easily be broken by my foot”
honestly I'm dissapointed you didn't talk about how genuinely terrified Jonathan sounds in the Frist cutscene
Bro istg i could hear the screams from Trace in some moments 😭
Insert "it takes guts" joke here:
I'm assuming grizzly is possesed by johns dad since he calls both john and the resteraunt his pride and joy?
It takes guts to play this game in VR
IS NOBODY GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW GRIZZLY JUST GRABBED JONATHONS ARM?!
13:12
i would play every single fnaf vr fan game. reason why i DONT is because i have a heart condition. sucks to be me, but watching you play fnaf stuff is way more fun!
You can tell he was screaming for dear life at 16:51 😂, also we really need a raw full game-thru with your mic on so we could hear your screams 🙃
Thank you for talking about grizzly’s it needed more attention
I kinda want to see in a fnaf fan game a new sort of game mode where if you do run out of power you can leave the office and it becomes a free roam where you have to survive until 6 am
I don't know why but Grizzly gives me the same vibes as Homelander
It takes guts to play this
