I don’t dislike it but the original ‘8 out of 10 cats’ was always better I don’t know why they stopped that and continued this

They changed the lighting or something, as everything looks more harsh. This is why people on TV always wear make-up, but you need the right lighting as well.

I like how Joe made it complicated for the last one... I did (100+(8+2))*6=660
I did a different version for the first one too. For that one ((9-2)*100) - (8*5) = 660
Oh man, for the longest time, I thought you had to use all 6 numbers in your answer!!! I did (100+(5x2))x6 = 660 then was like, shit I still have a 9 and 8. so did 9-8=1, 660x1=660. I could've just stopped!
They usually go for complicated solutions. I think they start at the wrong end. Last one was so easy, 100+2+8, times six.
I got 100 + (2 x 5), x 6

Or:
8 + 5 = 40
100 - 40 = 60
9 + 2 = 11
60 x 11 = 660
There was also an easier way (to me) for the first one of:
6 + 7 - 1 = 12
12 x 50 = 600
600 + 5 = 605
That being said, people's brains work differently so I don't know that we can say one method is easier than the other
I did (100-(8x5))x(9+2). Somehow I never see the easy solutions.

12*50=600
600+6-1=605
Second I did:
100+8+2=110
110*6=660

There was actually a far simpler way of solving the second one, which makes it even more impressive (sort of)

First one was easier too. 7+5=12
12x 50 =600
6 minus 1
Yeah especially the second one was dirt easy: 6 x (100+8+2) = 660

@@harun5358 I did, with even some time to spare. Though, I did get side tracked with 9 + 5 - 2 to try and go over, and then back down again, but failed, so went with above.
I would love to know how much of Joe Wilkinson is character, and how much is real person??
The character seems to me to be something he's fallen into as a place of comfort. Something he'd have been even if he wasn't bloody hilarious.
As the old saying goes "It takes a smart person to play the fool". Most comedians are well above average intelligence, the ones who play idiots are usually well above average intelligence for a comedian. I know a bunch of professional stand-ups and it really does hold true, the more dumb they seem on stage, the smarter they really are.
Absolutely spot on Bipolar. The Joe you see on screen is an act by a very intelligent man. In real life, when his guard is down, he's a very charismatic, charming, intelligent chap...

It's like Harry Hill and Steve Coogan, they come across as daft and zany, but it's a very difficult thing to get right and make people laugh. I didn't think much of Joe for a while, but he grew on me over time.
When he wants to be, he can be very sharp indeed, but he doesn't break character very often. The fact he got the second one shows he knows how to do the numbers game, but more often his failing is the comedy relief.

For the first, i got 6+7-1 is 12, *50 is 600, add the 5. For the second, 100*(9-2) is 700, 8*5 is 40, take it away
The last one was very easy: 8+2=10, add 100=110, times 6=660.

One way for the second number round if you want to use all the numbers: 8+9 = 17. 5+2 = 7. 17-7 = 10. 100 + 10 = 110. 110 * 6 = 660
