Again. Amazing content.. you continue to deliver Barrusu… things I didnt know: you can “choose” direction monster will fall after stunned. Morphed wirebug reduces time as wbw3. I always learn something new… thank you
Idk why I didnt know about morphed wirebugs but I guess I dont read lmao. The tip about directing the monster ko is actually really cool, definitely something ima try and think about from now on
wow i never knew that metsu had over half a second of invincibility. I knew it was stupidly long, but i would have guessed closer to about 1/3 of a second rather than half.
I have hard time getting the timing right for some reason , i used to do well , but now i miss every roar counter, i dk whats wrong with me,im depressed af.
Honestly I can't believe what I'm seeing these days when playing online. GS users blowing everyone away from a downed monster because they're counter bombing...
I don’t know what they were thinking with the GS in sunbreak, sometimes I’ll have 2 GS users join me on a hunt and once the monster is down and they start counter bombing then the fight is pretty much over……legitimately over powered
I think you need to face the source of damage or attack. I tried metsuing a rathian roar underneath it legs and it failed, in that case my shield should face the head when it roars regardless of where I am positioned.
Do you know what the numbers are for Dango Slugger Lvl1? I'm not a confident player so my Lvl4 and Lvl3 Dangos are typically Defender (Hi) and Defender.
Awesome video that taught me a few new things. But I still have one unanswered question. How do I successfully counter Valstrax’s ambush?! I need to know! Please!! I’ll never be truly satisfied with my SwSh skills until I do it.
it's a true ambush there is no countering it. for real. i like to superman dive as soon as valstrax reenters my minimap circle. less time on the ground dodging.
if you can time it right, do A A A AX, so a fully charged spinning reaper. Do the slashes while the monster is falling and delay the reaper for the wakeup
I miss World's Helmbreaker/splitter(can never remember its name) over Rise's Plunging Thrust. Those multihits depending on height felt so good even if it ripped through sharpness. Also the insane mounting damage. That's why it was locked behind wallrunning which was rare lmao
you showed counter frames, but how early do they start? and also what are some tips with monster roars, i've found sometimes they seem originate from the head and you need to position around that and other times they originate from center like the torso, is this true and when a monster roars away from me and i can't get a metsu hit should i just roll/backhop?
The frames start immediately. Roars are always just AOE attacks from their mouth as far as I know. What monster roars from the body? You can still counter a roar as long as youre facing the mouth, even if you're behind the monster
@@Barrusu honestly not sure if any do it just feels that way sometimes, and if ever placed away from the monster though or at a spot where metsu would do bad damage is it just better to save wirebugs for a good opportunity or take what i can get
Hitting the wings/legs is actually really good against some monsters since breaking them will make them trip, not just flinch. Only for specific monsters though
I thought the frames started a bit later, because often I consume my two wirebugs but the counter doesn't work, unless I anticipate and do the counter sooner. I never had this issue with GL's ou GS' counters
Quick Question; does lateral slashing a shitzone make it harder for you to bomb counter? (if possible at all) For example, trying to Bomb Counter a sleeping unenraged Espina since his wings cover his legs, leaving only shitzones
As long as your lateral slash doesn't bounce, the bomb will trigger and you'll be able to metsu with OG. You won't be doing any substantial damage but it still works as normal
The monster ko direction is actually fascinating. I also agree on just using PR on ko's, metsu is decent damage but PR is broken damage especially with stuff like chain crit and foray active. I also feel like WW isn't super needed most of the time because redirection exists but I tend to play a bit methodically so more aggressive play probably favors WW for the more consistent uptime. I also like doing delayed falling bash to hit confirm flinches since I'd need to delay for the other attack anyways. Really useful stuff here
the counter frames feels like janky imo. maybe it's just me, bcos i had a lot of cases of wirebug consumed, but metsu not triggering. and I'm saying this from my experience of playing ls that requires a lot of precise timing for counters. any idea what I'm doing wrong?
As long as someone's attack hits you during the counter frames, it'll activate. I'm not sure if all moves apply or just a few, but I tested with some very basic SnS slashes and it did trigger metsu
This skill right here... I want to love it but the wirebug cost/recharge, the whiff potential even on correct reads, and at times leaving you completely open to counter attack/death just makes me enjoy it less than I want to. You need to not just get the timing right.. you need to know the correct attacks from each monster to safely attempt this.
Hey Barrasu, been seeing a lot of anti-mod comments and mindsets that mods play the game for you, would you open to posting a run without a talisman (or atleast a attack 2 no slot or something)? This would eliminate the "BiS talismans make the game significantly easier" argument. Really people with this mindset cant be changed but for some reason the casual mindset went from speed runners being good, to people just saying well yeah they use mods
@@Barrusu its mainly from switch users i think. But there's a side of this community that is really anti mod. I'm against "balance buffs" or "pre sunbreak nerfs" but modding for anything that technically can be replicated shouldn't get hate. Its like people don't know you can abandon a quest infinitely until you get spawn c with small/large crown.
Great vid and Thank you Spoon for the voice over
😘
Great video! Landing a perfect metsu-shoryugeki is the most satisfying thing in Rise / Sunbreak.
It's such a good switch skill but also very punishing it you miss. Really a great switch skill that accents the SnS.

Just wanted to comment and say Ive been loving the quality of your vids!
I’m not much of a Shield and Sword player but the sns looks amazing in this game! So cool
"Dont use bombs in multiplayer"
Me staring at the 3 other hunters as we all drop mega barrel bombs on a sleepy boi
i got distracted by the manly voice i think im going to lay an egg.
Gods work my man!
omg spoon I'm a big fan
Pretty good video, I liked the voiceover a lot
it's so satisfying when you metsu a flying monster and knocked it down.
Very good info especially on the facing effect direction of topple and also that wirebug charge! Nice!
Love the voice over!
Spoon pog voice over

this is your best video is nice to have voice over
naisu barru 🍻. metsu.💪

I live for that ding ding ding ding ding.
Nice info
Would love to see similar in depth video for the Windmill!
just uploaded :)
It seems unfair that metsu is the only counter that always takes damage while other counters are pure immunity right. Thank you for the knowledge sir.
it's not though?
you take chip dmg but you can make use of offensive guard. A very worthwile tradeoff. It's part of why strongarm stance is so amazing on greatsword.
They better not take this move away in the next game
Awesome vid as always. How do you controlthe direction of the monster falling?
you just face left or right with metsu
METSU SHORYUKEEEN!!!
Does Metsu activate Adrenaline? The Off Guard activation is nice to know.
I have hard time getting the timing right for some reason , i used to do well , but now i miss every roar counter, i dk whats wrong with me,im depressed af.
"please don't use bombs in multiplayer" lucky for you I don't even play multiplayer, but I have fond memories of stylish bombing with a group in 4U.

Hehehe, my bad

Glad im too lazy to learn to do it
@@leonc9760 im sorry
...my bad bro 🥲
Another great guide.
Is Metsu directional? I mean, is the guard box in front of the character? Do you have to face the attack to get the counter?
I think you need to face the source of damage or attack. I tried metsuing a rathian roar underneath it legs and it failed, in that case my shield should face the head when it roars regardless of where I am positioned.
its the same as blocking, gotta face the attack
Some monster roars come from the body instead of the head, if you are too close to the face you'll sometimes flub the attack.
Do you know what the numbers are for Dango Slugger Lvl1?
I'm not a confident player so my Lvl4 and Lvl3 Dangos are typically Defender (Hi) and Defender.
My guess is 5% but I havent tested

What are the effects of dango booster at lvl 4?
15 attack for 8 minutes
