    PLEASE interview New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey; she will be speaking at the May 3rd (Houston, TX) ASSOCIATION OF FRONTOTEMPORAL DEMENTIA DEMENTIA (FTD) (think recent FTD diagnosis of actor BRUCE WILLIS & WENDY WILLIAMS) FTD hits early in 40s-50s and 60s. Memory often remain; yet FTD presents with behavior changes: agression, hostility, irritability, anger and loss of empathy; Also loss of language. Sadly, individuals are MISDIAGNOSED and put in wrong meds. More FTD awareness is needed.

    Of the four things you say you can do to prevent dementia, shinking your belly is unlikely to work in the long term, but lowering your blood sugar (for instance by using a cgm), lowering blood pressure (by medication) and exercising more, are not hard to do long term.

      Shrinking your belly is an absolute must. You do that by significantly reducing carbs. Visceral fat will fall away quickly.

      @@bugsy1254 I agree, I'm not sure where people are disagreeing on this topic though. When we stop eating processed foods when we stop eating every few hours, when we eat meat and avoid carbohydrates, the visceral fat disappears quickly. Some movement is also good.

      A ketogenic or carnivore diet. Ketones can cross the blood brain barrier in an insulin resistant brain. There has been success bringing people back and improving their cognitive function on a ketogenic diet, for some it has to be strict carnivore. If you use these as search terms you'll find lots of information on UA-cam and articles, books written on the topic.

    Cutting Cards, Sugar absolutely cut down on or eliminate, but it is a fact that the drug USP METHYLENE BLUE is doing great things against Alzheimers, Dementia and even Parkinsons. Why are Doctors not telling patients about how well M/B low dose is helping people with these Neurological Diseases, but many others? Patients have a right to know and Doctors have a duty to tell those patients.

    So what is OPTIMAL A1c blood glucose levels? I recently had blood work done, and my A1c was 5.6 which I thought was too high. I also had insulin levels checked and I was very insulin sensitive (like a 4 on the scale) so my doctor wasn't concerned about the A1c being 5.6. I am also nearly 100% sugar, grain, starchy vegetables free, basically keto but without all the excess fat. So how does one get those numbers down? Exercise?? Which I know I need to implement.

    • @LaneCodeRedCarnivore
      @LaneCodeRedCarnivore 3 місяці тому +2

      If you are eating mainly meat and eggs your A1c will be a little higher because the red blood cells last longer , but thats a good thing !

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 3 місяці тому +3

      The excess fat is what keeps you healthy. If you're eating lots of lean protein and not getting sufficient amounts of animal fat that's the problem. Fat doesn't make us fat, carbohydrates do.
      My A1C was 4.4. I don't go out of my way to eat lots of fat but I do eat it on the steak, I use butter with my eggs, full fat cheese, occasionally some full fat yogurt obviously without any sugar added.

    • @stephaniew4168

      Mine was 5.8 and I was shocked. I don't drink alcohol or juice, and I eat gluten a few times per month, small portion of rice or potato a fee times a week. I make.my own yogurt and ferment 24 hrs so no lactose, but I so add chocolate chips so I do eat that sugar, but that's it. I am shocked my sugar is up. I guess I need a cgm as he suggests.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 2 місяці тому +1

      @@stephaniew4168 May I ask why you are eating rice and potatoes? Is it that you enjoy them? And the chocolate of course? I enjoy some chocolate every once in a while. I do have a drink once or twice a week but I practice strict intermittent fasting. Each day 16 hours no eating other than my late morning coffee with a little heavy cream.
      I eat one meal a day, sometimes an additional meal depending on if I'm hungry. I eat when I'm hungry, if I'm not hungry I do not eat. I get lots of healthy fats and protein. I don't eat fruit or vegetables other than rarely when they are seasonal, organic and not bred for additional sweetness.
      I think the key really is intermittent fasting. Letting your insulin drop so that your body can access storage fat, getting enough sleep is also important.
      Perhaps you might try a 30-day carnivore challenge with intermittent fasting? See if that drops it down lower, I am fairly certain it will.

    • @stephaniew4168
      @stephaniew4168 2 місяці тому

      I wasn't trying to reduce my A1C - but my point is that I barely eat any rice and potato. Normal people eat grains like 6 times/day and I eat them maybe 6 times/wk so I am shocked my sugar is going up. It has never been this high before, and I'm eating FAR LESS sugars than ever before in my life.@@Kyarrix

      Yes and in excess kill brain cells, have short and long term effects on the liver.
      I’ve given up Alcohol as it throws me out of ketosis.
      My health is much more important than the tiny bit of short term gratification beer (and other “beverages”) have.
      It all comes down to personal choice and just how serious you are about your own health.
      After decades of abusing my body (metabolically speaking), I’m now the healthiest I’ve ever been. More so than as a young child.
      9 months of mainly Lion diet (red meat Carnivore ONLY) literally saved my life.
      From where I was the change is mind blowing and I still can’t believe how powerful a ketogenic diet is.

    According to the carnivore people fiber is not only not necessary but actively damaging. The anti-nutrients in vegetables create a burden in our systems. Why does this doctor think that we should eat lots of colorful fruits and vegetables?

      @Kyarrix 3 місяці тому +6

      @@maryhumphreys2931 probably the carnivore people generally speaking. Plants contain anti-nutrients, eating some plant foods in moderation is probably fine for most people but most modern fruit has been bred for excess sweetness, for more fructose in the fruit. We evolved to eat fruit seasonally and now we eat it 12 months of the year.

    • @emh8861
      @emh8861 3 місяці тому +5

      Well actually some people have no problems with fruits or vegetables. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 2 місяці тому +8

      @@emh8861 That's not accurate. I understand that's what you have been taught but it's important to be open to information that contradicts what we believe.
      The fruits and vegetables that we have access to today are not what our ancestors ate.
      A banana today has three to four times more fructose in it than a naturally occurring banana did even 100 to 150 years ago. Fruit is now bred for sweetness, it is bred to increase the amount of fructose in it. Only the liver can break down fructose. We evolved to eat fruit seasonally in small amounts. Now we eat this extra sweet fruit 12 months out of the year. That is a problem. It's also important to recognize that when we pick fruit green there is more oxalates and anti-nutrients in that fruit. Our ancestors did not pick green fruit and ship it across the globe. When they came across ripe fruit, they ate it seasonally. We eat fruit that is picked green, shipped across the globe, bred for excess sweetness, everyday of the year.
      Do you see how this is different? The same is true for vegetables. Vegetables can be an adjunct to meals they should not be the actual meal itself. We cannot break down fiber. People with bowel and stomach issues benefit from an absence of fiber. It's also important to recognize that the cellular path that uptakes vitamin C competes with glucose. That means if you are eating carbohydrates you need more vitamin C, if you're not eating carbohydrates you get sufficient vitamin C from the animal foods in your diet, specifically meat.
      I recognize that you have been taught as I was based on what was commonly understood to be truth. Unfortunately much of it is not. It is outside the scope of this comment for me to go into the reasons for the inaccurate dietary information if you are interested I can point you in the direction of some good resources.
      All of us react in some way to fruits and vegetables. Some of us can eat them in moderation if we eat them carefully and seasonally. Others cannot. We vary but it's important to be aware of the differences between the fruits and vegetables our ancestors ate and what is available to us now.
      If someone is willing to take the time as I just did to explain, it would be useful for you to take the time to consider it.
