I'm so happy Garret is still making these videos! I've basically been here since I've known how to specifically search for "speaker blowing" videos. I don't know whether or not he's influenced me, but I've taken quite a liking towards this from of artistic expression/anger management and also to neat fursonas. Thanks for being here, poopoogarret! Love ya and I wish you all the best!
I enjoy these speaker blowing videos. They also indicate me on what speakers I can use for an outdoor party without having to worry about the built in amp killing the speakers. As I see stress from the videos first, then grabbing these portable party speakers. XD
Thats crazy I acually still have the converter that came with the sound system and the center channel. My dad passed it over to me, I still use it to this day for gaming. Still sounds like a modern system in my opinion.
The 5.1 3.5mm to RCA adapter comes with the system... Though you can buy it separately. And it in no way claims to or can "convert to 5.1" it simply allows you to use it with stereo devices. Left and right channels go to the front and back equally. The center channel acts as a mono as does the sub. Source: I've used this system for over a decade in my flight-sim room.
@@coydog7902 haha what?? The only good Logitech systems had tangband drivers and sounded okay. Maybe Z623 (the old one) and Z5500 but the new crap with fake tweeters?? That stuff sounds horrible.. I heard some of the new "logi" speakers in a local electronics shop and they sounded so bad..
@@hjbhbjbjbjbjbjbbuguggugug6732 You can't compare a good floorstanding speaker with dedicated amp to a pc system that's for your average consumer and easy to use.. I also have much better gear but that is not comparable.
The sub still worked when bent-then when straigntened back out again. The 2Kw amp finished the job with pooking, sparks, and smoke!!!!Great job!!!Funny when you jumped after connecting that speaker!
I found a Logitech x-230 thrown out without the satellites so I made a little control unit for it. Now that only the sub plays, I can use it as an LFE sub with my av amp. And MAN does the sub sound good like that. Only the really low tones go to it, so its not boomy. The sub is definitely not just any 2.1 system sub.
@Dark Dream The reason I use it is because all the other cheap subs are crap but this one is better. And yes a proper sub would be nice but in a rent house I currently can't go bigger. And it was free.
I love your smoke show ...and sub opening skills with a hammer superb....that what u do when you have enough with them ....so relaxing ...now they will RIP
You think I could hook up the Bluetooth sub board from and insignia Model:NS-SBAR21F20 to the sub on this Logitech? Was looking at the power supply and seemed like it could handle it. Might be a fun project. If you get this please let me know what you think
No way! I Love those! It’s so interesting how they performed during your extreme test and destruction! What an awesome video! Can you do the Logitech Z313?
the adapter you talked about is normally shipped with the system and basicly the sub gets a mix of each jack and the black is for the rear the green for the front and the orange for center and sub and the adapter actually just sends mono to center and sub and paralles the left front and rear as well as right front and rear together so you end up with two left and two right speakers as well as a mono center and sub on the board itself the sub gets all six inputs mixed into one
Hey, Garret Claridge, I have a 12-inch sub that doesn't have a box that I need to get rid of. it works perfectly fine it just is missing its fancy us audio dust cap but that doesn't affect it. So if you want it to blow it or just want it, in general, let me know.
The converter is just for connectivity to a device so you actually can use all speakers at the same time. And of course it's not "surround" if you use the converter.
When u said it would take one of the rights it WILL but as well as the left of I'm not wrong........your bridging the -L to +R making it mono ... I guess
Hey Garrett I have the same set you do and I know that all 3 inputs include the sub and it's not actually independent of each other like the green plug is only supposed to be just the front two speakers, orange plug is supposed to be just the center and the sub and the black is supposed to be just the rear speakers but no matter what plug you use you still get the sub on all the plugs.
Lasts forever until the fuse blows and takes the right driver's 8th pin trace with it, nothing that a small wire to bridge the trace and a replacement fuse can't fix
Most of those coax to 5.1 surround boxes will allow you to utilize all speakers however they will only be running in stereo mode, the bass response is also pretty bad on most off the shelf 5.1 setups, as the set is only getting stereo data and cannot properly process the low end frequency. Overall they make your music sound garbage, a cheap £5 sound card off eBay that supports 5.1 will make your music sound better, something like an AE-9 would be ideal (yet overkill) for a 5.1 setup on the PC, and I plan to pair an AE-9 with my Logitech Z906's.
Looks like the sub was replaced at some point. Or they could have changed it for a more stout one, the one in mine looked like a mid range driver. What's funny is I still have the splitter from mine, exact one you pictured. I'll have to check it out sometime. I only kept it in case I have a project to use it for.
Just checked out the center/ sub on that adapter, it actually does something though not sure for the better. The left channel works but is very quiet so presumably it's pulling mono from the left and right channels. Definitely needs a ground reference to function though.
i have altec 5.1 surround sound speakers but if i plug it in with the green one it plays through the surround channels if the other ones arent plugged in lol
but i have to say with the right supply the amp actually puts out its 140watts claimed as max power i have three of the and modded them for a portable speaker system
I have the converter you're speaking of in 1:48. It's meant for decoding some inaudible analog Dolby information to produce 5.1 audio. I also have the center speaker you're missing. I don't use it because I don't want a speaker that is 100% useless in a computer audio setup. I use channel phantoming in my Windows Enhancements tab to make it up. Oh damn, you've just destroyed the subwoofer.
Garret please be careful one time i was taking apart a speaker system while it was playing and i accidentally touched the amplifier box and touch some mains connectors and it hurt like all hell came crushing down on my arm.

Hey garret another good vid Im glad I found this channel in 2014
Been here since 08 always loved the content
It originally comes with the china adapter and it turns it into a stereo signal and the amplifier does it's best to split the audio. It's not so good
In every single video where there is a screwdriver, it seems to be used to just rip the speakers appart instead of taking the screws out!
😂😂😂
From where do you get all these speakers lmao
I believe viewers and friends do
this reminds me of a blowout of Logitech speakers you did back in like 2009-2010. Nothing changed!
